I've been away the past 3 or 4 days through all the appointments of head coaches & general managers. One thing, maybe I'm wrong here but I sure get the impression that both Goveia & Pierce (Buck especially) couldn't wait to leave. I think Pierce is pissed off the fanbase blames him for the Grey Cup loss when it was O'Shea who told Collaros to get back in there with his wounded finger.

I haven't heard a thank you, Winnipeg from either of them. As a fan, I'm not asking for much but ignoring the team you came from because some fans made you angry seems petty if that is so & even a little classless.

this seems based on absolutely nothing... Pierce interviewed for head coach roles last season... he took a job in BC this year. i don't get where you figure there is animosity. Goveia also took a promotion... that happens. as for no thank yous... have these moves even been made official? give it time.

Fun to sit and watch practice today... Been about 20 years since I was last able. With respect to the late great Randy Turner, the king of Odds and Sods writing.... here's some thoughts: -Al

Really easy to always say that there's some mystical coach out there that would be a better fit.  We've been through generations as CFL fans watching teams including our own who keep believing that.

I didn't say there was anything. Just a feeling that I had.

Adds a few names to the 3dn article list, drew tate(pass), Jason hogan(not even our best internal option pass) and beau Baldwin (would love it, needs a vet to work with though)

He'd have Collaros. He's Adams old college Coach at Eastern Washington so he may not want to leave the Stamps.

Wonder if he gonna waste another yr in 2025 like he did in 2023...waiting...not earning a penny...if he doesn't make a roster out of camp

He gonna be 27 going into next season..would project as a project at best most likely...can't see a team investing much time or money into him especially when there are tons of guys just like him churned out of NCAA ball...younger...and have played u.s ball since 5 yrs old.

I do wonder how many other teams constantly bring back training camp fodder like we do

it seems like it’s happening more and more often in the past year or so

Maybe as fans we are just tired or over exposed to over analyzing everything?    On this board it feels like the fans are much less excited with the new faces that we bring in.   Then again when they waste a full year of a roster spot for a navy seal with zero upside and a zero college career and comparing that to the not so long ago past when we would bring in guys who at least had size or speed and/or a great college career... it is concerning.

I would say as far as the Bombers go, we are under exposed.  We used to get good TC reports and things like that but now we get next to nothing.  We mainly just get to see guys like Jackson waste a roster spot on game day and have to speculate as to why.  Was he doing something in practice that showed promise and we just never got to hear about it or see it?

During training camp we bring in a ton of dbs to work with qbs and recievers a number of which have little chance of making it. Perhaps these fall into that category. Rather than bring in all new these players at least know the drill and scouts can focus in on fewer but more talented options

I've said this a many times. One can carve out a real nice career in the CFL. 🙂

BC just re-signed 3 guys that they cut in camp and didn't keep around much during season.

Pool is a lot shallower with expanded NFL rosters and no restrictions on practice rosters plus increased pay.

Some positions also really benefit from a 2nd go round and year. It’s more optimal to have guys on the pr, but with that limited it’s just good business to bring some guys back.
You also some times just have more talent than you do spots. We could bring back a couple of the lbers cut in camp this tc. Thomas got picked up by the ALs, but petrishen and gemmel would be nice. Moses depends on health. Be hard to do better than last year at lber.
Maybe Coleman too, iirc he was a legit T who kinda suffered for reps. Grainger I think will Be back and I like that too.

We often seem to recycle camp dbs into the next year, idk if that’s ever worked out for us. Db is especially in our system is kind of a quick make it or miss position. But it’s also hard like you said to get 20-30 db bodies in camp. If a guy brings some thing you like and has the upside makes some sense to fill out with them.
