2026 CFL Around The League (Not Bombers Specific)
no chance. The demographic isn’t what it was 8-10 years ago. The only markets with growth or decent crowds are no longer old people. The old fans are a larger piece of the tv viewership but if you look around any decent market today you see a ton more young people then old. That’s part of the real problem, and the solution to attendance issues isn’t to pander to the boomer generation more. Built a rum hut complete with atmosphere and you’ll see way more fans in edmonton then by changing the name back. Edmonton filled the stadium with young people for a soccer game in bad weather. Branding isn’t the issue. general economic situation isn’t helping, but for rum hut type fans you can have a pretty cheap night out in the cfl. The dip hit before the economy dipped and it didn’t bounce back like much of the live entertainment scene.

2026 CFL Around The League (Not Bombers Specific)
the struggles in attendance are far broader than edmontons name change as you can see reflected in calgary, ottawa, hamilton and toronto. It’s a far bigger contributing factor that edmonton has been a dumpster fire of an organization that entire time., Blaming the elk name change is like blaming the old bombers thunderbolt for the dark era in the late 90s. The league, aside from the riders and us, whove been league back bones by a large margin, and bc who has seen massive effort and expense to bring them back, has been a gigantic mess since covid. Changing the name wouldn’t make a damn bit of difference. I’m sure we’ve seen this before too, I just can’t remember when. It’s not impossible to make sprint or early football work, but it’s damn hard. Making early football and such a long season work though, that might be impossible up here. Atleast to do and make a profit.

Don't let reality get in the way of a pithy retort!

As of next year, TV revenue could be the largest piece of the pie for the CFL.

With Rourke, Buck, and Butler, I think that O will still find a way.

Lifetime tackle, Bryant gets the spot for as long as he wants lol. Bryant should've been at best RT in camp, and should've been well behind Randolph. Who starts for the Argos now. How many of the OL here would start on another team if cut, 2, maaaaybe 3 out of 9?

Even if we are a 4-5 win team this year and next, unless we found a good coach working for free, we wouldn't be able to replace em. Assuming the cap stays as is, the future is likely to continue with established HC/GMs with an ast GM. Or an established GM with a low-buck young coaching staff.

100%. With the coaching cap, we are married to this set up for another 2 years.

Same thing they did at the end of last year, too. Clercius is on the opposite end of the room from the old boys club. Such a damn shame, but I am sure they are gonna burry him till his deal is up.

Throw in kelly and we got a deal.

Yep, though in this case I think it’s the rest of the front office as well. KW has never been a main source of imp talent. No doubt he does some work on that, but by far the least of his contributions. Maybe that’s a problem, but he’s always been mainly a canadian scout. For my money, he does a great job of evaluating ni talent. Now our priorities in the draft have been a bit of a mess. but we are still doing pretty well with ni talent, atleast on D and the ol. The us scouts have not done a good enough job, not by a long shot.

Yep. And we already see some of the golden oldie wrinkles from previous ocs being brought back. That’s almost certainly input from zach. They have a good chance to off set each others weaknesses. Which would make for a great season of bomber football.
