Of all the QBs, if you had to take a guy. All available. Who.

For me, Sénécal.

He can be molded into a rb/wr super sub who also does short yardage duty, and can run a package like streveler if you want.

I don’t see near enough incentive to flip the qb ratio, and I don’t see the upside or polish in the rest of the QBs that is any thing you can’t easily find in imp rookie free agent QBs at all times.

none cheat answer, if I had to take one qb as a qb it’d be elgersma. I think he has better mobility (especially after the acl for rourke) better size, and more arm talent.

Tachinski as a converted receiver

I like him as well as a project guy, especially since he’s been in our camp before and is extremely familiar with the organization.

Fun to sit and watch practice today... Been about 20 years since I was last able. With respect to the late great Randy Turner, the king of Odds and Sods writing.... here's some thoughts: -Al

  • Just to speak to Wolitarsky’s character and just what a good dude he is … few years back, some friends and I went to go see him play at Earl’s on Main and we ended up chatting with him and Streveler …

Really easy to always say that there's some mystical coach out there that would be a better fit.  We've been through generations as CFL fans watching teams including our own who keep believing that.

take best player available first pick....load the lines with remaining.....and make it work with the guys going to camp....and pick team same way...best player per position available and make it work with the way you structure ratio/depth....done

the first pick needs to be a potential starter within a year, if that's an ol great, but the first pick shouldn't be just a positional need , If a db pick is more likely to be that starter then we should go there.

yup....best guy on board who can actually take reps now as a legit back-up or who can actually push to start or be projected as a starter.....as any pro athlete save for an big ol fatty lineman can play most teams with good coaching

Who is the shedeur of the cfl draft. In other words a guy who been hyped who isn’t that great and will drop.

There's a couple NCAA receivers and DL who have been hyped as first or second rounders that I could see dropping pretty far.

The receiver and DL classes are really deep.  For that reason I could see an early run on OL (much shallower group) even if their ability isn't quite up to snuff.

"I can't believe that guy was here for us"

"Steal of the draft"

"Walters is working his magic"

"We took that guy?"

"This draft is terrible"

"What are we doing today?"

I am ready for the draft.

This will help you decide which one to use round by round

Interesting move, we gave up decent value and took Bailey an athletic edge tweener who will be in camp but I don’t think he has tremendous upside. More of a high floor guy imo.

Peterson is a solid small but thick athletic back. I guess we wanted a guy like that but didn’t want to use a pick this year that could feed a need better.

don’t love giving up on Sampson.

From https://3downnation.com/2025/04/28/top-10-position-players-in-the-2025-cfl-global-draft/

EDGE Kemari Munier-Bailey, Weber State University (England)

HT: 6024 | WT: 230 | HND: 90 | ARM: 323 | WNG: 781

BP: 20 | VJ: 33 | BJ: 9030 | 10YD: 1.62 | 40YD: 4.70 | 3C: 757 | SS: 4.69

A former member of the Great Britain junior national basketball team, Munier-Bailey had stints at Idaho and Fresno State before earning third-team FCS All-American honours in his final season with the Wildcats. He’s a classic CFL tweener on the outside with a good first step and active hands as a speed rusher, though he can be late to bend the edge and gets run past the QB at times. Despite a similar frame and athletic profile to Jibunor, he isn’t quite as strong at the point of attack and can get moved off his spot in the run game, but is fast enough to be able to track down ball carriers in space once they bounce outside. That makes him one of the better special teams projections available in addition to his situational defensive value

"Last year’s average of 45.8 yards was the best ever by a Hoosier, topping Drew Hagan’s 44.8-yard average in 1999. He had 22 punts of more than 50 yards, with a long of 70.

His career average of 43.9 yards is also a school record, better than Alan Sutkowski’s 42.5-yard average from 1995-97."

Don't like giving up Sampson.

We have lots of Nat DTs on the roster though. Lawson, Schmekel, Kornelson and old Thomas. We also have Gowanlok at edge. Can't fit them all in the active roster.

It's interesting to see that they are very interested in Bailey which I feel what prompted this trade. We have a better DL rotation when we have Hansen 2-3 years ago. Hope this is the intention here.

I like Lawson a lot. Jake needs to be gone imo. Schemekel is mid at best and Kornelson is camp fodder. I do agree with your DL rotation point and agree that I hope this is the intent.

Samson is still unproven though. He could turn out to be the next Ted Laurent or the next Evan Gill for the ticats.

Or they really like this running back Matthew Peterson.

Maybe they don't like the RBs in the draft this year but think there are a lot of DTs available. Who knows

Ed Hervey project, brought with him to the Ti-Cats from the AB. Golden Bears, good enough to win CanWest football player of the year in 2023.

This is Brady's new backup, if he takes him under his wing, good things could happen.
