I’m always hesitant to watch mos media stuff for this reason. The best interview I’ve seen from us since the gc week is paddy when he re signed.

Im sure it’s real hard for mos to admit these guys have had it and move on. I bet he has an itch to bring back biggie still.

If he doesnt get picked up by anyone...I bet my left and right nut this time Osh brings him back

I didnt watch the vid as i rarely like to watch Osh vids as they say basically nothing....unless he is slinging BS and he gets too smug....so will go off what other posters say....Was he asked if he has learned anything from past flops, and if he is gonna switch things up?

But lawlers agent told Walters he won’t be back. I think going public with that means he’s not going to be back because Winnipeg is prob not willing to pay him 275 or close to it. I don’t see how adding money means they willing to overpay now. He’s a ticat for all intents and purposes.

he may have told them that because Lawler told him a number he would come back for...and we couldnt hit it....If he was payed to his liking...100 percent he would remain

Yesterday morning. All the teams were all caught off guard. The CFLPA & CFL bungled it the way they always do. Both knew the cap was going up but chose not to tell anyone until yesterday. Now things get interesting. Will the Bombers go after Lawler to get him back? Same with Dobson? Will they try to sign other free agents on February 13th?

If the Bombers offer him a contract & it's what he wants he'll talk to us. Everything has been thrown wide open by this astounding salary cap increase.

yup

I still think 275 is an overpay...just my opinion

Oakman and McEwen/Couture could IMO be a solid fit here. They seem to have not been scooped in the first wave.. .perhaps they are asking too much..but one of those of those lineman and Oakman on reasonable contracts would again IMO be really nice adds for us.

BOLO back as depth would  be a great signing I feel.

Lets see, what happens....

same sentiment..and bring in Adeleke....and we good....let the scouts fill in the rest and then have a REAL training camp

Lawler's agent told the Bombers he won't be back based on our offer. You don't see how adding half a million to the SMS might change what our offer is? You don't think changing our offer might get Kenny to stay?

I would much rather chase McEwan or Couture than to try get Dobson re-signed. BOLO would be a nice add as well.

yup....a lil extra money could be the diff in a guy or 2 dong a 180

BOLO as well would be a nice add.....He left originally due to his use...or lack thereof especially not seeing a rep in the Grey Cup....so not sure that distatse of the team still lingers, but it wasnt toward his teamates....and he still free so I'd like to see him and Big Kev tag-team one spot and allow us to spell of Demski

Fun to sit and watch practice today... Been about 20 years since I was last able. With respect to the late great Randy Turner, the king of Odds and Sods writing.... here's some thoughts: -Al

Really easy to always say that there's some mystical coach out there that would be a better fit.  We've been through generations as CFL fans watching teams including our own who keep believing that.

It's all very doable now, hopefully Walters has taken off his handcuffs and will put pen to paper on some talent.

In any other year I totally agree that 275 is an over pay. This is our GC hosting year. I am not against over paying/exceeding the cap this year to get our cup on home soil. For that reason I want KW to bring in difference makers. He hasn't done so yet and Lawler would be a great start.

yup...we need to pay premiun in a spot or two in our host yr...even if its just a one yr deal

Sure Lawler seems to go silent a few games a yr....BUT....is that really on him and only him....I would say no....Demski does the same....plus has worse ball security at times.....you work with the good and the bad...and Lawler works with a lot of good....Good that nobody in the league can do like he does.....and the big thing..ZC needs famiiarity and trust in his guys...or he essentially sucks and is a picken machine....and he wont be getting better this yr....but likely shows regression

For ZC to resemble vintage ZC...he needs elite talent all around him....

Looking at our group0 right now I dont see an elite group....with Schoen still a bit of an unknown...Mitchell..White...Demski..Clercuis and TBD as a backup

But Swap in Lawler with Mitchell...Schoen...Demski...Clercius and White JR as the extra guy as we wait for return of Wilson....that looks a lot better...and bet ZC would say so too

Mitchell, Schoen, Demski, Clercius, Lawler, White and the return of WIlson is as good as it gets in this league. This would give us ample skill starting and ample depth with a 5 IMP option as well when needed.

yup....and a nice mix of body types....add BOLO as the NI depth and we be set......White JR when he returned looked nothing like White JR pre-injury...maybe he is back to 100 percent as well and that would be a savvy pickup...he has a knack for the tough contested catches

I like tho we also have Logan  now to integrate in....and he is as explosive as it gets in the league...Under radr pickup to the lay fan who prob has no clue who he even is

Lawler, White, Smith, Woli and whomever Hamilton runs as the 5th guy is better.

Mack, Philpot, Rambo, Spieker, Snead is also likely better.

You think BOLO joins a team as depth again?

Well I wonder if collaros got too comfortable with his crutches and part of this is shaking it up so that the guy can't fall back on just throwing to the guys he trusts. Can't just toss it up and hope Lawler makes a spectacular play anymore. Gotta find someone other than wolitarsky to be at the sticks when he needs him.

I dunno just spitballing. Collaros needs to be better all on his own. Shouldn't need receivers to carry him.

new system.....being the main backup to 2 guys....possible....plus he has yet to fully establish himself anywhere to be a defacto number 1 Canadian....so...maybe?....be nice

I see that maybe as making it worse...him hanging on to the ball...undecided....hard to say.

I think too a lot of the issues are he's just had some his skills slowly diminish and leave him....it happens....and Buck last yr did him no favors with some bad game plans

Yeah for my money collaros lost the ability to escape in the pocket and he's struggled to play as a pocket passer.

I honestly don't think he's lost that escapability: it's that he's forced to escape more often than he has at any other time with us (and sees significantly more pressure from all over).  He never lets his feet settle and so he's always off platform when he throws and a big part of that is because he doesn't trust his protection.

Collaros even at his best always hung onto the ball and ran around. Problem is he's noticeably slower and can't make the magic happen like he used to. He's lost some explosiveness and speed and he hasn't adapted his game.

it seems like his protection isnt as good...and he is panicked and pressured...I think it more he not nimble and as quick to recognize, and maneuverer himself like he was.....hence what we see...Sure the oline isn't what we were used to...dominant...but they were by no means a collection of stiffs and scrubs.

He also the last 2 yrs has lost a lot of his touch and accuracy....tell tale sign of a QB losing arm strength

I don't think the accuracy/touch is the issue... it's him making bad decisions.   I don't remember him throwing into double/triple coverage as much as he did in his earlier years with us.

Ya it's all of the above. Often had no pocket to step up into. Definitely has lost some touch too.

Seemed to have less called roll outs too which used to work really well.

Hope the O can refocus on Brady and the running game this year.
