No Carter hasn't signed anywhere. There was a story released earlier this week that Kavis had spoken to him though as apparently the two of them have a good relationship

Durante to the ALS has an awful lot of SK fans cheesed at Jones. Now even less hope for the hopeless.

Lawless says Burris will not be going to Saskatchewan.

 

I've read a few tweets from rider fans that everything is going to be okay, and that next year either Franklin or Reilly will be a rider.

My question is... Does Jones make it that far if the team struggles terribly without a number 1 QB this year?

jones apparently sees Bridge as the a dave dickenson QB, and Kinne grew up around BLM whatever that has to do with anything.  

 

he's definitely not set at QB, once FA starts I think who ever is still available will likely get a phone call

This might give Nichols more leverage, but if Jones wasn't willing to pay for Durant, why would he open the wallet for Nichols?

No way Jones makes a move like this without having some kind of realistic plan  for the immediate future. Now, having said that, until I see a legitimate QB sign his name to a contract with them, I'll continue to hope and pray for the most epic of tire fires over there...

TBH I think at this point in their careers Bridge is the incumbent #1 with his 2 career starts

My guess is that he overpays for Franklin...  signs Glenn as veteran insurance. 

 

 

i guess Bridge would be the safer bet... of their current QBs bridge is light years ahead of the rest in career #s

I don't see it...  if they are not willing to pay big cash for Durant then why would they spend more for Nichols?

Jones didn't have a lot of confidence in Nichols in Edmonton, so I don't see the fit.

This, and even if they did I don't see Nichols wanting to play for Jones

The Durant trade is about getting something for a QB that Regina wasn't going to sign anyway. It's about removing all doubt that Durant is going to be 'the guy' to turn Regina around. In Montreal it's about getting a vet QB to go with the youngsters. I doubt that it helps or hurts Nichols as Regina wasn't in the cards anyway and Montreal wanted a vet QB not a guy with a year as a starter under his belt.

Nichols won't sign with the Riders as long as he has a functioning brain in his head and a veto.
