  1. u just dont get it....and last 2 grey cup failures had a similar feel to them...and that's smack dab due to this philosophy...it worked in 2019..2012....going on 4 and 5 yrs now....you don't evolve and adapt...u fall by the wayside...If you think giving guys like Thomas..Briggs...Jackson...McRea...Bennett...Kolo..Gauthier..Miller...Cadlawader...Schmeckle..Biggie roster spots "just because" you like em, and they been good soldiers, or bring in competition but don't actually 100 percent let them earn a spot....bring back some PR guys we have had kicking around for yrs, but never can push a non-performing vet off the roster....and draft a bunch of Ham and Eggers whose sole purpose is only teams...then I dont know what to tell you....and that would be an epic failure of an off-season of ...well epic proportions. Especially when you have younger, high end talent waiting there....with no hope in hell of getting a shot...and they know it....so kiss your talent goodbye. Fact many don't know is we almost lost Woli due to this, and the lack of use a few yrs back....And it surprised me he actually re-signed. I can see it with others tho now, as things have changed, and we lost 2 straight cups and some of it was due to roster issues....I dont give a crap with the "yeah buts"..."we been to 4"...yap yap yap...means diddly if you don't win the last game of the year....and we should have been reveling in 4 straight wins right now.....but we aren't
  2. yup...ease on outta there and focus on 2024 and Grey Cup 2025 in our barn with us in it...Next season and the minor turn over required and some change in roster limitations will go a long way in ensuring we are in that game
  3. I would hope....and also the Gm and his Asst. Gm's should have a very detailed performance evaluation on guys as well....and that factors into the dead weight slicing and dicing....and not even give Osh the chance to roster aging and useless players....cause we all know he will if they are there for the taking
  4. I really don't like the comments Oshea made in his season ending presser....how he thinks some his vets are still more than capable and sees no reason to move on from some...Big Red Flag in my eyes...and not a good forshadowing for 2024 at all...as it puts team even further behind in reloading and re-tooling for 2025 Either he's really playing sneaky buggers and not letting on...or he is as clueless and stubborn as many suspect, and still playing the favorites and favoring his guys....and I lean to the latter....if we go thru this same bs at start of season I hope Walters has it in him to play the heavy and be Osh's boss!
  5. I dont....I have no concerns with any key guy following a coach anywhere...Nobody did with Lapo...and nobody will here either bROWN won't be going there...They have Harris under contract, for big coin, and what new HC is gonna roll the dice and hope an upstart isn't just a benefactor of the environment and team he is with?...They are gonna want a experienced QB and thankfully they have Harris and likely keep him, cause he is garbage and not the future there...so this song and dance is gonna continue there...for a few more years...and as mentioned BO is here...or nowhere.....thats if the NFL things doesnt pan out....and I'd be shocked if it panned out cap is tight league wide...and lots of teams are not happy about it....only gonna be minimal lateral movement, and this is playing right into what league and governors wanted....consistency and tenure in coaching staffs
  6. Only way I see Buck accepting the Sask gig is that he leaves family put here, and family is ok with that...lot of a big if there, and I also think he is smart enough to not grab a position where it could be an utter tire fire still for likely a few yrs...and possibly ruining any chance again down the road elsewhere ....Like what is currently happening to Dyce in Ottawa and Lapo there before him....Sask has a lot...like a lot of work to do to turn that around...total roster overhaul....will be an all new coachig staff most likely as any new guy likely doesn't want the crap that was there. A new HC dropped in there is not gonna turn that around any time soon...Plus there is still the Oday factor....that guy is prob the worst GM in the league I not too concerned tho about replacing a OC if we have to, there is a few options in-house, as well as quality guys we could either poach with an upgrade to title/pay and a few who are currently employed...You have to remember playbook stays here....sure Buck can take his philosophies and ideas with him, but thats nature of game anyway. I want an OC with the right mindset, and thought process....the plays themselves are irrelevant in grand scheme as all teams run same stuff with wrinkles to suit the players they have, and the mindset of the HC and the Oc
  7. how that turn out??..lol what I meant tho...he can want a guy..sure.....guys also have to want to go....not a given
  8. yup...all ado about nothing right now....some deals are already in the books...have been a while
  9. well....8...Biggie and Schoen for sure...But Bailey and Demski were far far from being effective and able to run all the plays...we hand-cuffed our selves big time...Then factor in the uselesness of Jackson....Omitting Rose off the roster....Bennett who hardly saw field..Thomas...Thats 8 of your 46 who were handicapping us...Thats messed up anyway u slice and dice it
  10. A guy leaving one place just cant take dudes with him...not how that works.....
  11. A Strev Brown combo would work real well actually....pay em both 300k...with start bonuses...and a few incentives.....Sign a rookie entry level guy for the 3rd string spot...would be a net savings overall.....And I'd run multiple combos and sets all game with both on the field at once...Strev in back field...TE...run option with both them....could really create a lot of havoc....Get in his ear now about a contract....and if you get it done you send ZC to the Hammer for their Bennett (or at least the rights to deal with him before FA)...Toss in Erlington an a pick an we forge on
  12. We tried to.bring in Durant as we really had nothing other than Willy....Strev wasn't even in the equation and was brought in to camp late...Nichols basically replaced Willy as he got ruined and was playing like crap...Strev replaced Nichols as a raw rookie to.start that yr as he was banged up...and he performed quite well all things considered as he was allowed to.run the normal offence...but once Lapp/Osh saw his knack for running gradually altered his packages to just gimmicky crap...tho effective started to.stunt his growth as a true QB When/if he comes back you will see a world of difference...this notion he can't be a legit starter as he is limited passing is just straight up crap
  13. WELL...HE sat on a PR during the season for a grand total of 0 weeks....so his net gain was zip! And from looks of it he was up in Canada anyway doing nothing....so why he didn't venture back here is a bit baffling
  14. yeah you have to be on the actual PR all yr to make the bigger bucks to get you more than a high paying CFL contract...and that rarely happens....more like never happens for a CFL defector to sit on a PR for all 16 games....the meat grinder there chews and spits em out at a crazy rate....Only guys who sit there all yr, and maybe get a call up here and there are draft picks from 4th round and up...thats it....People get blinded by this myth that u go down there and stand around and make oodles....not happening Look at Desjarlais...he prob lost about 100k minimum in cash last yr "hoping" to land on a PR consistantly..He got a few workouts...and looks....but while you looking and waiting you not getting paid Look at our guy Ford....your kids cutting lawns made more than he did this yr hoping on a pipe dream...he just effectively threw a yr of earning away in what is an already short career....Should have came back and had a caveat that if someone approached his agent...we would cut him..... and we will be doing that with him likely..Thomas...Briggs...Miller...quite possibly Kolo...Darby...with all new roster spots taken up by rookies, or guys coming off an entry who will still be cheaper
  15. Thing is we could have rostered Mauro and Hansen when he got healthy...Our Mauro and Karamoko and let him develop actually getting reps...The punter wasn't required and Castillo is a more than adequate punter and could have gave us likely better over all results with what the Aussie gave us.....sure his net avg seems decent, but the eye test of consistently losing the field position....not even being able to get it to midfield when punting from deep in our end, and the cover issues were abysmal all yr...and hurt us often. Osh got all enamored with the goofy crap he was doing in camp, and in pre-season and from that point on we were hooped and stuck with him regardless...thats The Osh way...Just as we were stuck with a pointless FB....A non-use of the Nationalized American rule, his commitment to continually having Thomas trot out, and the wasted use of Bennett who offered nothing, but was a first pick so we had to save face....hopefully 2024 was a learning season
  16. We need to roster and find 2 legit DT's to rotate with Lawson to become a force again on defence and take the load off the Jeff's, and have them run with legit rotational piece as well. Bring back Fox and Walker and several guys to compete for the DT roles...rewards...has to be earned...keep the best 2 for roster....3rd goes PR....same to be said with the ends.....you roster the Jeff's and an additional guy, be it Hba..Garbut...Or a new find/FA pickup, and with Hansen who 2 yrs removed from Achilles should be back to what he was, especially with the low miles on him for a guy of his age, and we need to land Bennett, and or Kongbo to supplement the rotation If we can run with the Jeff's, and a rotation guy....Lawson and a import DT...who has a rotation sub (Like when we used Neves and Stove) as well as Hansen and Bennett (the good Benett) or kongbo we should be pretty damn stout upfront Wilson also played well as season went on, and another yr removed from surgery should be ok....but competition needs to be brought on there also, Clements and Cole look to be legit starters for next yr, both young and right in prime and both are versatile enough to be used in several ways....but we need to treat LB like we did with DB's before and bring in a boatload...we have stood pat now for 4 yrs...time to turn the page. I would only bring Biggie back on a reduced deal, and to do what the "supposed plan" was with him for Grey Cup....But do it healthy not on one leg...if he declines that option, then we have to cut bait, and then all his salary can go to shoring up elsewhere I'd keep Holm...Nichols..Parker...Houston...Lawrence...Rose BA for sure to battle with some young...aggressive DB prospects and like mentioned earlier....best man who earned the job, and allows us to play multiple styles of defence are rostered.....Ideally I would like to see us work on extending Ford and giving him every chance to take the one corner position and flip the SAM back to an import spot with a dynamic impact guy there....adequate Kramdi is what he is, and adequate ain't what we need...We should run Holm boy at safety and work out from there filling in inside out..Nichols is a slam dunk and I like to see Parker at HB...he is a star in the making....Ford at the corner and a legit major battle for the other corner....may the best man win...like literally this yr....
  17. yup...that one made no sense...would prob been there for pick 2 if we wanted hi that bad.....not sure who was on board still before that pick but I am sure there was someone who would have been very productive on the roster, and more upside...I just too lazy to go look
  18. yeah I got moocho abuse about cant do wrong Oshea but I saw this coming all yr...we escaped it a few times luckily, but it did bite us when it mattered
  19. been wanting that Bennett for a while now, and can't see how he wont sign back home, and we can dispose of our Bennett
  20. Like I said...utilize what he does best....playing off and ability to close, and put that at safety, as then he would be getting picks, instead of tackles after the catch or the knockdowns when he really gets the jump...thats where he would be best served moving forward...we don't need a sledge hammer there....especially if we get some muscle back up the middle, and some HB's with physicality, and ability to jam and disrupt routes, and whallop guys when the whalloping is there. We rely too much on letting plays unfold under neath and moving up to it....If we alter a philosophy a bit, and force teams to have to push down field...Ol fancy feet would prob have double digits in picks coming from depth over the top..especially if he has good eyes...yr 3 next yr he should now
  21. thing is...with our poor roster management we had to make 3 moves to cover 1 issue due to an injury, and thats what will happen...confusion and communication errors...It's not about BA not having it anymore...truthfully there is nothing wrong with his game....it's more how we deployed guys...Now if Clements was in Biggies role, and we had Rose on the roster...a smart savy vet...and one who all the DB's say is like a coach on the feild and makes them better as a group...well he steps into Parkers spot...and we aren't having this convo...BA is at safety....we have no communication issues with the corner and half and that play is broken up...picked off over the top or not even there for the taking...
  22. If Osh cant make those decisions...then maybe he should be looked at to be replaced then.... exactly this....and I think the back half of the yr Osh had to answer to nobody and hard carte blanche...and it wasnt good Biggie this Jan should be given the option of taking a greatly reduced salary to be a role guy/st/in game emergency replacement, and if he balks then let go prior to any bonus....and he would know it's only business No need to waste camp reps and bodies with him vying for a starters role at 36 years old.... do u not recall me bringing thjis up early in the yr?..and its from a been there seen it before place...not just yip yappin actually...Wally didnt have the money to sign him...without bastardizing the squad elsewhere....and gave Biggie a best he could offer offer....and well it was not nearly close to what he deserved or was worth...Wally's hands were tied there
  23. exactly....that was a dumb idea to use him situationally....and this excuse that came out now that he was covering up for a miscommunication...well thats fine and plausible...that being said if it was Cole or Clements in his spot, they would have had the ability to cover and break that up...even with a 100 percent Biggie they are faster and more agile....just further confirmation that it was a stupid decision all around IF zc didnt try and force it, and actually threw the ball to lead Demski to the cone on the goaline, it was either a score....tackled at the one...or an incomplete pass...no way a db was gonna pick that...he forced a throw and we got burned...
  24. BO is the easiest of easy to replace, and we don't "have" to have him for the ratio...That being said I hope we lock him up...and doubt he garners any serious NFL interest worth wasting 5 months trying for I'd be utterly shocked...He has no chance in hell for that.. Logan would be unreal here and not nearly physical enough....and sounding like me aint such a bad thing u know hahaha and more size/stature...and not talking about height Alford was exceptional...and physical...Holm iis neither..he's very good, but also weak Ford and Alford had physicality to them...and are better tacklers...also stronger....and I't not just a skinny thing I was harping at...It's strength and power....most you prob wont believe it but Grant..all 175 pounds of him in terms of strength and power is one of strongest guys on team...he easily reps 350 pounds on the bench press..He out lifted lots of Lineman for reps on the 225
  25. who would blame him tho
