  1. totally a horrible decision...and if any other coach in the league did that in the Grey Cup and played 4 guys who were clearly injured and shouldnt have been on field...in a Grey Cup we as a forum would have had a hayday chastising and laughing about it....same with due to all the injury issues and depth deficiencies dressing a fullback in lieu of an actual impactful player....if anyone says they wouldn't they are full of crap...But since 98% like to hang off Osh's nutsac here and defend everything he does to a fault...it was no big deal...over blown...axe grinding...personal dislike...call it whatever you want but it's kind of a joke...the dude effed up...badly with his roster...in the fricken Grey Cup....and many here said eventually this real bad flaw was gonna kill us at worst time....and it happened....plain and simple...it happened...personally I didnt want it to....but I saw it coming....and wasn't shocked
  2. I like osh as a coach and dont want him gone....his many pluses out weigh the minuses...but if he were to leave we wouldnt fall apart, and we would be just fine...The Bomber Culture and how things are done, and how players are treated are a product of the Winnipeg Blue Bomber Football Club....not the Mike Oshea Love Shack.....things flow from top down...WADE and Walters said this is what we want...this is what we gionna do...Can you as our HC do that?....plain and simple, and whoever comes in after will have to follow the same succesful script....
  3. bringing up a person//player///coach deficiencies or bad traits isn't axe grinding. its constructive criticism or pointing out the obvious....of all the tire pumping and axe grinding of Osh, any one of our coaches could have took this team to the GreyCup if he had to step away this yr for say a medical issue...personal reason...etc....There isn't something sneaky secretive he doing that no other coach would know....He's a good guy and players like him...players like it here as well and not just cause of him...Prob more so due to Wade and Walters...the good coach is cherry on top. To much weight is put on "players coach" tag...players will play for whomever, and will run through a wall for hard assed disciplinarian coaches too...see in first hand as they also know that coach will put his balls on the line for the team and get you where you need to go...and they follow....and also know a job isn't a right...it's earned and that can garner more respect than the Mr Nice guy I favour my vets and feel good stories..I have seen that philosophy fracture and divide a room as well...even though the team was killing it and looked tight thats not really true.....2 of 3 players were shocked and one was totaly unprepared....sure they thanked coach for opp..what they supposed to do...toss him under bus?....but they knew they wouldnt be very effective. Bailey as well I have on good account shouldn't have even been playing...but put it all out there...sure thats a great thing...love guys who have the guts and mindset to do it....but a coach should know also where and when to draw that line for the greater good.....we failed there....and starting lineup issue is totally a roster management issue...it was mismanaged on a gut feeling and blew up in our face....if our best possible replacements were on roster and were a hobbled ineffective Bighill....Bailey..Demski and Schoen who couldn't run 80 percent of the offence and the portion they could kinda run was ineffective and in some instances didnt even garner attention by Montreal defence and we fielded probably our worst DB before other healthy guys, and had guys like Bennett just stand around all game then our depth is terribly flawed and very weak.....
  4. and who's fault is that??....MOS for not having an adequate PR and depth on roster. Ambles and even Alston would offered a heck of a lot on the active roster for the Grey Cup. Col and Clements taking Biggies reps and adding another giy...be it a dlineman or a DB would also added way more to the roster for the Grey Cup Taking off Jackson and adding again....an actual contributing force on defence would have added a lot to the Grey Cup roster....Maybe utilizing the Nationalized American would have helped in what we did with the game day roster for the Grey Cup Our coach hand-cuffed us worse than any game this yr, in a yr where he consistently handcuffed and he saved the worst of it for the biggest game of the year...thats facts and factored heavily into the loss....the 2nd one in a row now He'll eventually get it...
  5. Thats why I think Cole would be ideal there...he can come down and brig the boom, and he can also run and cover guys doing screens and crossers, and is probably one of our best sideline to sideline guys, and part of reason why I would like for us not to go Canadian there, but if we did, Ford would be better suited than Kramdi as he has a way better skill-set for it.
  6. nope...thats not it at all
  7. it would be a move to show and lead by example.....I bet my left nut tho it never happened...and I like ol lefty so very confident he took no cut
  8. I don't think Lapo will be an option if Buck goes to be honest.....and like mentioned earlier...if he does go....he doesn't get the play book...and any new guy won't be overhauling a totally new system....verbage will be changed, and some wrinkles added...some plays they may not particularly like removed, and input will be used from QB's still here, as well as play makers...Its really a total non-issue Smart move...Sask...Oday.......now go think about what you just said and maybe have a drink hahahaa
  9. was the ol Manfred Mann blinded by the light deal....shiny stats glossed over repeatedly being burned for long td's and big plays at wrong time.....all that was...I work with DB's a lot in camps....and Houston by far had the worst overall package of skills and fluidity on the team....Parker prob had the best, along with Nichols, and oddly the kid we cut partway into the season ADS....
  10. poor Buck....but good on the payday for him I still dont see how u think Brown will follow...Buck may want that vet in Harris....and Brown may not want to risk losing the shine off his star going into a total unknown rebuild and becoming the next Arbuckle...Franklin..Jennings Get a defacto "co-ordinator" and let the QB take control...with some input....Worked for decades and seeing as ZC is such a student of the game, and had input into creation of plays and schemes.....let er rip....sometimes people put too much emphais on a co-ordinator.....also they are times given several options to run based on what the see pre-sanp....its not call a play...run that play by any stretch
  11. Nichols....Holm...Parker..Rose..BA and Lawrence should all be brought back to compete....but have to be heads and shoulders above any new hungry guy....jobs need to be actually earned and then maintained after earned...or its see ya later....especially from an incumbent who has already shown streaky play, and questionable skills. To be honest we should allow Houston to go to free agency...he had some picks ya...but by far was the worst tackling DB we had, gambled way too much for the picks to actually be meaningful in the whole body of work and in all honesty we can fill that role with an entry level guy and get equal if not better all round production. We need to search out and roster db's with true cover skills and physical presence.......cause any DB can play that soft let em eat us alive underneath blanket coverage...but when rubber hits the road we have suffered with guys who can't switch the game up when it's required. I'd hope Ford is extended/resigned to keep him here and give him the SAM position...Kramdi can be that ST captain and solid in game backup if needed, but he has some flaws....gets confused with lots of motion around him and his tackling is a lil suspect. He also turns 27 in December...so who even knows if he has already peaked. And we can go with just that one spot as a Canadian on defense, so we could beef up the front 7 quite nicely and have adequate Canadian backup with Lawson...Bennett if we land him, which should be a no brainer to come back home...and play with 2 former teammates.
  12. Maybe Osh renegotiated a revised deal to keep the band together, following the lead of some his vets??...lol.....would be the ultimate show of the culture here and who leads by example....no???
  13. we need to insert Eli...Dobson, and let Gray be the 6th....Holm to safety and we need physical/man to man type HB/CB's to replace him and compete against incumbents at corner...Need to move on from Biggie as a starter, but a role player if cap allows. Get Ford signed and have him play SAM...and if roster allows it have BA as a DA and he can slot in all over the defence back 8...save for MLB...and make either Bennett or Kongbo our FA priority Jackson cannot eat up a valuable DA spot....and if we have a stud to go with the Jeff's that more than adequate..that be exceptional...Need a dominant nose....and this draft year after 1st pick draft guys with ability to take on more a role, and sign/trade/draft a Canadian punter and have 2 Globals to be used in rotation and on teams. I totally fine with offence if all the pieces are back, but competition needs to be brought, and ZC needs to be on a short leash and if he sucking...pulled even if for just a few series to see what he might not be seeing while behind center... That isnt much a turn over and would allow us to run it back with a solid amount of the core guys who are still top notch
  14. Rose's play overall was better than Houston's....and yeah the Jeff's could have used some rotational help and it would have been very beneficial. Fox alone would have had a presence in the middle and a push that woud have allowed just that bit of needed heat that would have took the Faj's quick timing plays and made them hard to execute. Also I don't think Houston can play up on line and have the skill/experience to disrupt quick passing, let alone consistently tackle..Rose can...also i highly doubt he would have got roasted by that winning td...he has seen that play hundreds of times and would have recognized it immediately, and that would have been difference in breaking it up...if not stepping in front of it... Coaches and players have said...Rose is the calming influence out there and basically another coach...he would have been a huge factor all game over Houston...Blinded by the shiny pics our Coach was
  15. yup...and they better overpay the cap if need be...Dont pull a Riders hahaha
  16. yeah I was shooting very high end salary...and if a team makes tht offer in the tamper period..they have to abide by it if we dont match or beat...so that would be playing russian roulette if someone tried that... if he goes...he goes...we be fine...also cant see a first time HC taking on the dual role either...that would be suicide...especially with that mess
  17. key in bold And yeah...our teamers and back-ups for most part were/are awful or non existant...thats the whole point...humg on to way too many for no reason other than been here thank you...some people just cant see the forest thru the trees....its a major issue right now with this teams makeup
  18. It all started with Wade...he was the guy who turned the switch on...when he looked at things, and saw the way things were being done he was pretty livid...and embarrased.... BO wont get much more than 185...maybe 205k here in Canada....hardly debilitating
  19. Glass was a garbage pick up....Lawrence was hurt, and still here...and likely a better option than Houston..Couture left cause we couldnt afford him...and was replaced by Kolo...who was a down grade, and should have been behind Eli..Taylor blew out an achilles...or he would have been back....Rose should not have been parked....I'd say the same for Darby too really....Charles Nelson??...Like really??...Mike Jones also left for more money....not like we wanted to move on...Adams should have been kept but we signed a broken down Ellingson...who was a band aid and did absolutely nothing come playoffs.... Too long guys..Thomas....Briggs....couple guys who languished on PR and never saw light of day....couple still there...and no not talking about Richmond....Why was Scmeckle kept....even Bennett.....offer us nothing....and it's not just aging vets....a vet who serves no purpose other than teams and not a viable backup....what competition was brought in to challenge Jake, Walker....Lawson.....Tanner Schmeckle...or whatever his name is??...puke.....who was brought in to push Biggie and be succesion plan...and be on a PR to develop?...nobody....who was brought in to push Wilson and develop as he wasnt even ready to start season?....nobody....but we rolled out inadequate Briggs and heavy doses of even ore inadequate Thomas....and only viable guy we had to back that up was Schmeckle??....like wtf Clements and Cole...both good solid contributors and hopefully starting next yr over what we have now....but look how long it took us to finally realize Cole was a player??? We carried no viable DA end basically all yr...why?...had 2 on PR...but never saw roster....why?.....Why didnt we bring in a viable return guy when our return game was worse I ever seen in over decade? You tell me....where was the backup plan on the PR....Maybe Schmeckle tries hard doing at in practice.....We cut an actual real fullback...who actually had impact on special teams....and was canadian and would have helped the roster....why?....why didnt the powers that be not see a canadian in that role would be far superior as we could roster another import end..dt...db?...do you seriously think that was best use of roster? Whole lotta why's and head scratchers.... Most guys we moved on from last few yrs were guys who left for NFL....Left in free agency, or were hurt When Kongbo came back the second time last yr we lost him cause we had no cap space...I dunno call me dumb but I would cut Thomas right there and there is a good portion of what would have been needed....as he was already on a serious downtrend and definitely not the future....Thats the tough decisions that need to be made as opposed to making with your heart....and it's not being done here Harris basically checked out here on his own...and slotting him ahead of BO would have been totally idiotic....
  20. Taylor was injured so they really had no choice....35 yr old vet coming off an achilles injury I would hope they moved on from...especially when he wouldnt be ready for the season..And really I would have kept Darvin over Ellingson...He offered tons to the team in many capacities, and could have been a valuable contributor in playoffs
  21. thing is a lot of those guys were young...went to NFL...(Alford...Ford..Kongbo..Desjarlais)...or went and signed back elsewhere...or guys who got injured (Maston...Taylor) so that was not done purposefully...had no choice. In last 2.....3 years what player did we move on from and replaced with a younger...better player who lost his job in TC?....I can think of.........none He said none of the guys in 30+ range showed signs/reasons to be replaced....sure he said changes, but those will be the ones out of his control...NFL opp....Can't afford...but part of that can't afford will be holding on to higher priced vets who really have no place here now contribution wise as a starter, or are teams only guys....twist it all you wnt...but he refuses to accept the idea of being a Bouno..Murphy...Mathews...and will fall on his sword like a Ritchie...and thats a huge Osh flaw...for all his good traits...he has a real bad not good trait
  22. there was none...we had unearthed some....but they were cast away....or stuck on a PR ....and I see zero evidence of it....he could have said in his presser that we will look at the roster and see where we may need to go younger, or move on from...totally acceptable and many coaches before him and after him have said that...or will say it....but he flat out in his Mike Oshea way said there are none....and thats worrisome...especially when some carry significant salaries that will impact re-signing some of our younger talent, or getting a key piece in FA Hopefully Walters and the assistants take that ability away from him....and allocate the dollars elsewhere....
  23. 25...but we also have some no-contributers that are new and need to be expunged too....Thats a lot of non-turnover from 5 yrs ago...continuity is good when you dont continue with some too long...we have/had too many continued guys from same time line....need to know when and where to spread it out...and last 2 yrs we havnt at all....and when we did have some guys who could have...should have stepped in...they were blocked by sub par tenured coach's favorites....and thats not a good thing....
  24. Players stay or a bunch of reasons...but generally its team environment/culture...how upper management treats them, and just not on the field, and for their brothers.........I not afraid of a player chasing a coach somewhere.....If we had a team of Merc's sure...but we dont Many of you also think it's just Osh as to why they stay/like it here...and it's not...Starts with Miller and how these guys are treated here, and their families accommodated for....
