  1. Make Doman look like a spend thrift. 20-0 should be the goal.
  2. A ton of that falls on our OL, especially early in the year, and our rotating door of rookie receivers. He got better as the season went on as the OL gelled and the new receivers worked out the kinks.
  3. Blow the wad, screw the SMS, do what it takes. Keep our good players, be active in FA this year, bring in blue chip recruits. This is our all in year.
  4. Yea...could happen. With the plethora of good backups on the market this year, I would hope KW is going to grab us one of them. Football championships are always a collective effort. No doubt about that. However, some QBs tend to be able to lead their teams to more of them than others even if the stats don't necessarily show it. Sometimes its the timeliness of a play, for instance, or just a few minutes of greatness that make the difference between a VA and a ZC. Love him or hate him, I would take Fajardo as our back up for that reason. He sucks as a QB, but occasionally he gets hot and as Grey Cup 23 taught us he can sometimes get hot at exactly the right time. As a starter I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole, but coming in off the bench he's a guy that might just win you the game if your starter goes down. All you ask from a backup.
  5. Our guy has cup rings. VA...not so much. If/when VA puts those on his resume he can likely get ZC money. Teams don't pay 600-700k unless MOPs and GCs are on your resume.
  6. Definitely. Grey Cup 25.
  7. Definitely not an overpay, but not exactly a discount either. Pretty fair deal for both sides imo.
  8. I don't care when the Bombers get it done this offseason....just get it done.
  9. It all depends on how much Prime is willing to pay. I doubt that it would be huge revenue streams for them or the CFL. Much needed exposure though.
  10. What does publically have to do with anything related to his leadership in the dressing room? I agree. FIFO is well entrenched and isn't slipping one iota. Young guys will need to step up, and they will as they become the veterans. It isn't a problem. We have problems...don't get me wrong...but FIFO declining isn't one of them.
  11. Bryant is a guy that leads by example. He may not say much apparently, but he doesn't have to. There is some kind of notion that in order to be a great leader one had to be vocal. FALSE narrative. Bryant is a locker room leader through and through. He lives FIFO, sets the example, and has the respect in the room without saying anything that other players will follow. 66 doesn't have to say a damn word in order to lead.
  12. You don't realistically know anything about what the locker room culture is compared to 2019 or 21. None of us do. Nor do any of us know who the leaders are in that room. Your statement is 100% speculation. True...and neither does the side that says it's gone. I can only go by what the players are still saying about it. I haven't heard any player even remotely suggesting that the culture is different. You don't know that.
  13. Tell me who they have bypassed? There are guys that most certainly SHOULD be bypassed prior to even signing them. I am sure we have done a lot of that....as has every team except teams devoid of any locker room culture like the Riders.
  14. FIFO is alive and well and extends far beyond WJ. It is nonsense to suggest otherwise. We still have a ton of vets on O and D to carry that banner.
  15. What exactly are you hoping for? Every player to be a stud? It doesn't happen EVER. To get a couple quality starters a year through recruitment is very good recruitment. To get 2 quality starters and another 2-3 players that are showing that they have quality starter potential is even better. 1000 yard receiver, shut down DB, and a productive NAT rookie receiver is a pretty darn good year. Add Wheatfall, Ayers, and Woods to that mix (all players that flashed a high ceiling) and I really have no idea what you are complaining about.
  16. He was on the PR. Was cut in camp.
  17. The blame for the Grey Cup lands squarely on the players who shat the bed. That being said, Pierce's play calling was very poor. Whether we went with Collaros, Wilson, or Dolegala we were going to have to heavily rely on the run. We didn't and that put our offence in a situation where our offence was reckless with the ball. It was a lack of trust by our OC in our OL's ability to play bully ball. That being said, I don't think either Buck or Ted left with any kind of axe to grind against fans, media, or the organization. Both men left for excellent opportunities.
  18. Janarion Grant was cut by the Ti-Cats in TC. before we scooped him. He has been the best returner in the league since then. BC's offence already sucks.
  19. It definitely signals that Jones is definitely in our plans....so it's the end of the road for somebody.
  20. There is no question losing Goveia is a massive loss. Totally. 100%. However, we do have the opportunity to replace him. Walters will have to find someone who is as capable, and that will be difficult. Judging how big a loss Goveia is can only be done after we compare his work to the work of his replacement though. This could be a devastating loss, or we end up finding the next Kyle Walters....either and everything in between is all on the table.
  21. I agree. There were others like Ayers and Woods that showed glimpses of high level play as rookies as well. I thought our recruitment this year was a real strong point and probably saved our team's butt when all the injuries piled up. I thought that last offseason the recruitment was a home run. We got two explosive starting receivers, a shut down DB, a good young LBer, and some pieces for our DL. Add the draft and we did really well. You say the DL and LBers rotated in with little success? Best defence in the league says they did rotate in with success,.
  22. Ontaria Wilson having a 1000 yard season didn't do it for you I guess? Complain away then....
  23. I think this year was a great group of rookies. Ontaria Wilson was a rookie. He could really be something yet. Same goes for a number of first year starters this year that flashed a lot of potential. I do agree with your Schoen-a-year standard though. What we need to be striving for. You think right. I want the Cup....we all want the cup....and that's why at the end of the day we can agree to disagree but none of us take it personal. It's all passion for our team.
  24. How so? This year we had a crap ton of rookie starters. More than any year in the past probably 10 years.
  25. I thought we added some great new pieces to our DL this year. Still a work in progress for sure, but it's nonsense to say we haven't turned over our DL. There seems to be some polarizing viewpoints for sure and that's natural with strong opinions I think. I know I come off far more polarized than I generally am, but I'm a sucker for a good argument. Booch is probably the same. Once someone challenges your viewpoint the alpha response kicks in.
