This was a guy who had the fastest 40 time among linebackers in his draft class. The Bombers traded up to get him in the second round. He and Thomas Miles are the only LBs left in the CFL from that 2014 draft. I'm not saying he's going to be a superstar but I love that he is finally getting a chance to prove what he can do on defence.

Honestly I'm excited for Briggs' first start. He was a great LB at McGill and had good numbers at the combine when drafted. Good special teams player who has come in as an injury replacement on defence several times and looked fine. Not sure why everyone is so down on him???

Is the b for bargain?

I think the team doctors have said he is out for the season and he is going to see if a better doctor can get him back on the field sooner. Just my gut feeling.

How can Toronto be so bad? They aren't even competitive. Reminds me of those early 2000s Ticat years where they were winning one or two games per year.

Some people are saying CAR won't match because it would cost them 21 million dollars in year one of the contract and they only made 20 million on ticket sales all season last year. But at 8.454M I think CAR definitely matches.

4th highest QB salary for the QB who is roughly 5th best in the league. Hard to see it as a big time overpay. Every other established starter is making 500k+... not sure what Masoli gets now but he is FA after this season and you can bet it will be over 500 too.

BC off to a hot start

Something about Calgary didn't look right in week 1 and I don't think the week 2 bye is a good thing. BC has made some changes on offence and defence and they are pissed off. Also, it is Devone Claybrooks' return to Calgary. Surely he has something special planned for Dave Dickenson. I went for a barefoot walk in the woods and the forest spirit told me BC wins after getting out to a hot start and holding Calgary long enough to get the win. 31-26 Lions.
