im not even that much but it was an intriguing card. That isnt really the kind of novelty fight i go for. Yeah that wasnt much of a fight. Some people (namey dan hardy) are saying it was fixed. Sonnen with out missing a beat called out wandy again for his next pay day. I mean fight. Thats one i would watch though. That knee was certainly the high light of the night. Pretty much though i watched chinzo too.
  2. in the modern era I dont think any one else comes close. One of the best DLmen ever too. Few rush ends had that kind of impact on the game. reinbold offically takes over the cats D now. Good for him, i hope he does well when ever the cats arent playing the bombers.
  3. man given his performance through most of the season i cant see an nfl team looking at him and seeing more the TCF. He should come back to the cfl on a 1 year deal and play his brains out. Yeah im gonna be really sad if denmark isnt brought back for camp agian this year.
  4. they allllwaayysss do that. doesnt matter who it is. For a bit he was an elite qb. Last year he carried a pretty bad offense to being decent. (they have some good wrs, but a brutal line.)

bellator tnite. Im not generally a fan. It will be interesting to see the new unified rules in effect though. I really like the no jon jones pawing at peoples eyes with your fingers. Chinzo machida, and ralek gracie, i dont mind watching. Chael and tito i dont expect much from. Watching tito hit the mits for media he looked like the slowest man alive. Unlike last years fiasco with dada 5000 and kimbo slice this card has some hype for slightly more legit reasons.

you could go out and over extend your leverage and have far fancier home, car etc too. doesnt mean its wise. Remember the jays crowds prior to this run? Or when JP first took over? Flat out the primary limiting factor on salar in recent years has NOT been rogers. Its been the jays refusal to match other teams in length of term. no one is going to take a 3-4 year deal over a 5-6+ year deal with the same pay each year. Not to mention the lack of willingness to dip into FA at the cost of draft picks under the previous regime. Plus plenty of teams have tried to buy a winner with no success. Only bankrupting their ability to draft going forward. No kidding. with the exchange rate the current jays salary would be 202,744,048$ over 25 million more then the current no1 highest la dodgers. Going by total pay roll instead of 25m roster pay roll they would be 5th highest in the league.
  7. cable was border line engineered but yeah. Hulks sons, franklin richards etc. But it wouldnt be very interesting if they had normal kids. Thats why even step brothers like cain marko (juggernaut), friends (james rhodes-war machine) spider-gwen, black cat, amadeus cho, etc. if you spend any significant time around a super hero/villain, or are related to one you will at some point have a super power. Mutants are an easy way to explain that away (as well as inhuman-terrigen mist exposure) but really its just hard to tell a story about a super human whose aliases enemies, frenemies, antagonists are human.
  8. what really is strange is we arent reliant on getting FAs to turn out team around. That and we have the majority of our core locked up.
  9. Its a bird, its a plane, its a good NI WR in blue!! never mind the bollocks. He was easily the best in his position last year. By a huge margin too. Not to mention tony burnett was a track star at USC and showed incredible wheels in his time, especially on teams. He lacks the natural LB instincts, and considerable polish but the last thing he lacks is any of the physical abilities to play any lber position. I question how much of our front 7 struggles are personnel and how much is the system. Id look long and hard for an upgrade for bass. But still love to have bass back in camp. Wild was a lot better pre injury. Im sure we will bring about 20 Lbers to camp any way.
  10. That is for damned sure. In the years before this group took over running the bombers it was such a gong show. I feel worse about the mike kelly / mac era then i do about the reinebold era. Some thing i never thought possible. Would be great for the league if that mess got straightened out. Having laughing stock franchises is never good. That said im ok if the rider fans suffer a bit longer.

yes because 162m dollars is cheap, which is 8th highest for 2017. (thats total payroll) And they are still signing guys. Top 10 pay roll in all of baseball the previous 3 years. How do the jets compare? Previous to last year the bombers were operating considerably under the cap while teams like MTL spent like drunk sailors. Edwin also took less money then the jays offered.
  12. there is no comparison between signing willy with the extreme lack of time played, and nichols who has had a ton more starts. He certainly does have a point about the turn overs and short field. Id even add the record number of FGs we kicked. Going off how the riders franchise has run under its current regime, I cant see any reason to believe they would find even a league average QB. The guy is a homer writing trash. Mildly better then pederson.
  13. justin dunk has the salaries different, but goes more in depth in terms of whats base and whats bonus. If the 2nd sentence you see i say his tweets were part of that article. But the article it self wasnt by him. And doesnt go off his numbers. By no means would i consider him a good source of league wide coverage/information. Not like dunk.
  14. i dont put much faith in lawless reporting salaries, but then he also reported lower salaries in the post. do you think they doubled collaros salary in the middle of the season when he was hurt and locked up?
  15. wbbfan replied to nate007's topic in General Discussion
He was never even a great defender, he was a great arm with decent range before he started to decline. Last year he was border line a liability with the great arm. Its beyond dumb to intend to run him out every day at rf.
  16. http://www.tsn.ca/eskimos-sign-qb-reilly-to-contract-extension-1.471943 only one on that list making more is mike reily. (drew willy re negotiated recently). More then jennings, lulay, blm, collaros, slightly more then harris, more then ricky ray.
  17. bryan ahyat was around for ages too. doesnt mean he can step in and contribute. Well they gave nichols elite pay, and as base. Really wish we had given him good starter money with bonuses to pay him elite money if he produced at an elite level. its sooo much money for a guy who struggles with deep balls, and leaves us kicking a record number of field goals. And in a market where no one else is probable to give him that kind of money.
  18. one thing is for sure, we cant be as bad at getting pressure and stopping the run in the front 7 next year.
  19. that first part is a whole lot of truth. I wouldnt take under performances in mtl too seriously. Stafford while nichols was with edm played 7 games (out of 23 for the season+gc run), had 31 catches (51 for the season with play offs) 410 yards (832) 5 tds(10 for the season) 4 games with back to back tds. So his production was much great with nichols. Itll be interesting to see if that chemistry still exists. Wrs seem to tend to flock together. Rather then a this is my team kind of mentality. But who knows its all up in the air right now. Im hoping he is back.
  20. ^ smith for montreals 12th straight up would be robbery. What pick does toronto have left?

he was. and he is. But, old hitters who still have fast hands can still rake. Bautista's problem isnt that he has lost that trigger speed or ability to turn on a pitch. which is why there is reason to hope that he can still mash. No one was willing to give him the long term mega bucks deal. hes old. the jays are willing to give him that. he started out way too high and the market passed him by. Doesnt mean he isnt a guy more then worth having around for 1-3 years. age yes, wear and tear isnt as bad as most sluggers his age. Strained shoulder/knee/toe arent the type of thing that shuts down a hitter for multiple years. And the shoulder was furthest back now. This is still a guy who hit over .800 ops last year. and well into the 900s over the previous 6. If he plays most of the season chances of him coming in .750 (which is still really good) and 30/100 are tiny. Hes perfect to have protecting josh donaldson. Hes 36 frank thomas was 38, hit .857 ops 26hr 95 rbi in 155g. Bautista hit .817 22/69 in 116g. The jays cant be done yet. But this is still a good pick up/bring back.

last year was an uncharacteristic awful year. You arent paying him for last year, you are paying him for the potential MVP he could be. That said i really hope they move him to DH and morales to 1b.
  23. Im all for gambling with depth picks. Especially with how deep we are at NI. Hindsight is 20/20 of course but look back at last year after loffler was about that time. If we can identify the drop off spot well enough and it isnt pushed down by sliding prospects some futures picks are good to have. But out high picks we certainly need to continue to try to get guys who will be on the roster for this years TC. That development time for young NIs is massive. Im not ready to sell the farm or much on franklin. If we miss out on glenn, or another similar vet who can step in to back up the most id want to give up is spot swapping. like our first for a 2-3 franklin and a future 2-3. Which has about a .00000000000000001% chance of happening.
  24. no joke. When you factor in money I dont know how you could take him over stafford or gurley. Especially when those guys can bring a change of pace to our WR core. I really hope denmark is back. Id rank our wrs like this Dressler>>denmark>darvin adams>>>gurley/smith/stafford.
  25. aside from his last game against BC, id say he was awful. His health could be a question. Did he come back while still banged up and not recover till late? Small guys allways concern people more when hurt. but playing 35 games over 3 seasons doesnt help that complexion. Is he just a really poor fit for what we do offensively? He isnt arland bruce, the shake n bake cut back make things happen after the catch in traffic type. Hes more the catch and run or break free and make a big down field catch guy. And our offense doesnt do the deep pass much, or well. With our system and his health at best i have trouble seeing him out produce guys like stafford, or gurley. And I dont think he has a chance at denmark, dressler, or darvin adams. So i wouldnt take him over those top 3, and paying him top dollar to hope he can be no 4 when we allready are as tight to the cap as we have been in recent years seems like a poor choice. especially when stafford/gurley will/would be cheaper hands down. Id rather see that money sunk into a DE or LBer. At his age, im sure he isnt done or close to it. And his best football could well be a head of him (if it isnt no football maybe ahead of him very quickly) but I dont like the risk/reward of that here.
