2026 Bombers Season
we’ve seen a couple guys float around in his situation over the past couple years. Would I sign him based on film? No. I would’ve cut him in the off season. my only notes would be gotta keep lidster, and i’d keep ball too. I might even pr ball or stuart. i’d kick korny too i think he’s sub replacement level for a ni dl

2026 CFL Around The League (Not Bombers Specific)
In 6 seasons, he's only played 18 games once. He played 12/18 in Edmonton and 22/36 in his second stint here. He also had 5 games under 50 yards in those 12 he played with Edmonton. He lights the world on fire for 5-ish games in a year. Misses 1/3 of the games, and tends to be average in the remaining 1/3 ish. In Dalton's first 2 years here, he had 8 games under 50, only 1 was under 30, though, and only 1 was a single catch game. He still gave us the 5-ish games a season of pure dominance, but in the remaining nearly half a season, he was a strong, steady producer.

Honestly, I think you could go either way and justify it with ease. At the end of the day, you are gonna overpay a couple of guys no matter what. Kenny is the type of player I would want to overpay for. That type of skill set is incredibly valuable in any league or level of football. Dominant WR who can go up and get most any ball in his rough direction? Is Poor Man Randy Moss? Want that kind of player. Now the person behind that is much harder. While I don't consider him a bad guy or toxic. But the lack of loyalty, the inability to stay healthy, and the lackadaisical approach he had to sorting out his passport issues are huge red flags. Especially after the team stood behind him with his DUI suspension. I love how he plays, but I would not trust him as a franchise cornerstone.

I actually prefer shorter QBs for short yardage. Tall lanky guys are more prone to getting a leg twisted, getting hit clean over the top etc. But I think either would do the job fine.

Good, good, let the hate floooow through you. I am glad, though, I am happy to see the league under-rate this team. If we stay reasonably healthy and Zach performs at a higher level than the last 2 years, this will be the best team we've put on the field since 21 imo.

I want to see him kick off too. Lidster has a real good leg, but Andrews is bigger then Bedes was imo.

Allen counts down his top five running backs to play against in the CFL.When explaining what makes Brady Oliveira special and why he’s been included in the linebacker’s rankings, Allen only had one thing to say. “They give him the ball a ton,” laughed Allen.

2026 Bombers Season
not a di. Nat imp also rotating I could see. We’ve got a bunch of young canadians ready to contribute on teams from the D side. between kyrie, jones and ayers, 1 guy really needs to go.

2026 Bombers Season
lber is the last spot I would use a di. We have two canadians one ready to start another ready to rotate. Realistically, i would nat imp one of jones/kyrie have smith rotate to relieve lawson and allow an imp db on. Personally, i’d lean towards start ayers and jones. Di kicker kr de db. Lidster also looked really good. I expect him to sit on the pr, but he may be the sergio replacement before sergio’s career is over. An Ni kicker is a tremendous luxury.

Yep. I’d line him up like an h-back, and motion him to and from the slot as well. Send him out in a fb alignment then send him to the slot. He isn’t a natural wr obviously but if he’s 1on1 with a mlber, with the waggle and his quicks he will be open on a hitch, out etc.

2026 Bombers Season
that would leave us with with no kr, or only vaval as back up db, and no ayers. And with kyrie as a di behind jones and woodbey that would leave no reps for smith to take. We really need to make use of the naturalized american rule this year and shed some bodies at lber. Tj davis’ reps came late in the mess part of the game. would’ve been nice to see him get some kr reps and play with the 1s/2s more. Hopefully in game 2. Singer had a couple good throws into coverage that he came down with, as for route support and blocking it was a mess. It would really help if he is that kind of high support guy though. Demski opens a lot up for other guys and white will too. He hasn’t been cut yet, that i’ve seen. That elite get off and burst is soo rare I think it demands more time. He took two stupid penalties, but he is a rookie they will do that. I hope to see him get more reps in game 2. But he’d be on the short list of pr candidates for me, if he’s coach able.

Another interesting guy is Jakobe clinton. He had that sick pick 6, and didn't do a lot else. But he's another very athletic tweener lber with great playmaking instincts. He might well be worth keeping around as a PR developmental piece. Hes listed much smaller than college here, but he had lots of success pass rushing and blitzing in college as well. Surprised we didn't see more of Ayers on D in game 1, wonder if hes knicked up.

None of the groups' run blocking was remotely good enough. I very much expect to see a drastic improvement and Eli taking a lot more snaps at C in the first half of the 2nd game. Bryant was worrisome to me in pass pro, though he didn't play long. Vanterpool looked like he took a 2 year step backwards, which is a big disappointment. Elsbury was brutal in run blocking. Wallace gave up a big speed rush at T early but settled in pretty good after that. I wonder if he isn't too big to play T for an entire game though. Vibert was solid, Id like to see more of him at C. Poncious and Pares were average in pass pro and poor in run blocking. Mazzccua is a freaking tank. Id keep him around to develop. Rando picked up where he left off last year. Very good pass pro, solid run blocking. He needs more touches than the 3rd/4th Canadian WR. Move him around and get him the ball off screens and any way possible.

Thats right holm as well, forgot about him. Oh O white could be one as well. We know now (I hope) the importance of a viable back up returner. Boy we suffered for a bit after grant left.

He also seems healthy for the first time in a long time. Im sure he will bounce back from the last two years, just a question of what is his current top level of performance. I think his peak performance capability is something like the early 2ks tier QBs. Sporadic high passing yards out put, high 2 and out count, lots of tds, close to the same amount of pics.

2026 Bombers Season
Start Smith and using the naturalized american spots. Kyrie, WJ, Moxey, Ceresna, and Nichols all qualify on D for naturalized spots. That way we save a DI at lber, dl or db. Idk if punters have value in this league at all any more. I doubt it. I do expect 1 of each on the PR to start, I think you're right there. I think the only none vet imp WR who would be worth playing so far is Singer. Can we start 3 canadian wrs? Crippling talent pool for sake of ratio has never stopped us before.

2 cuts already. Javier who had a couple real bad moments and Battle. We brought back recent cuts WR Womack, Dl Arnold and Fletcher. A bit surprised we are cycling through our own cuts already, but the NFL pre camps probably have every one down south in a holding pattern

He got burned at sam once, and that side did struggle in coverage late. But it was very much a group effort in coverage that failed. What I liked in what I saw was his kick cover and physicality were really good again. I think he's a bit out of place as a sam tbh. He has the athleticism, but doesn't have near the polish dropping back that frequently into coverage. I think he'd be much better off at wil/mac or backing up Kramdi at S. Though he could well develop into a great ratio breaking sam at some point, but its one of the hardest positions to adjust to for guys who are pure cover players. Zach is gonna rub off on him a lot, already seems to be happening. Elgersma was aggressive, and thats not bad. But he did fail to pick up post snap coverage adjustments and didn't take what the D gave him. It is good that he didn't wilt though. Id like to see him learn to play more with in the system and work medium to long range rather then deep to short, but we might be hard up for that to happen with no QB coach and Zach as the incumbent. I think year 2 Elgersmas' floor will be very high. And his ceiling is tremendous. Nailed it. He made the best of a bad spot, took what he could and used his legs when he needed to. His run-throw processing was better then I expected and saw in the UFL. It is a small sample size, but its easy to see why the other 2 qbs fled town. I expect Perkins to be QB2 and Elgersma to be QB1. for 1, the defence gets more out of prepping with perkins running scout team then Elgersma. For another, his experience in terms of preparation as a professional is extremely valuable. He also provides an instant change of pace if zach has to come out, and we can continue with a streveler pack based around short yardage/heavy set and hurry up with perkins. I'm bullish on Vibert, but he wasn't great in the first game. He did play mostly Guard, and he wasn't bad, but he didn't pop off the page either. I expect him to get a lot more reps and some time at C in game 2. Shays ' teams play comes from a great instinctual athletic ability to flow to the ball. He shows that on D, but its still raw compared to Smith.

Stars and HH pre season game 1
Yeah, I was encouraged by what both qbs showed. I think perkins has a lower ceiling but a very high floor, which should allow Elgersma time to develop to his lofty potential. I'm pretty excited to see both in game two as well. I don't know how we could not look at Andrews, or why we would draft him if he played like that and didn't get strong consideration. Last years punter was a better leg then Sheahan, but Andrews looks like his leg should be in the NFL. He had that monster field position flipping punt but he also had some strong hang time and smoked a few long ones. Yeah it was. Singers a good one, I kind of expect him to sit on the PR and develop at first, but he's talented.

Yep. Plus a little bit of a miraculous physical recover fro zach from more than a couple concussions. Makonzo retires in toronto. Guy just couldn't get/stay healthy. Such a shame.

PS Game 1 day thread (finally Bomber football is upon us!)
Elgersma, yeah pretty much. We will see how game 2 goes but I think he will essentially be qb3. If perkins’s runs short yardage maybe they’ll roster elgersma as 2 but functionally use perkins as 2. I’m not worried about eli yet, he barely played C. Ellsbury played most of the snaps. But his performance sure does lead to us being thin at C.

mos doesn’t care about what fans or media has to say about the club. Maybe read the last paragraph, instead of jumping to strawman arguments, and bitching for the sake of bitching to avoid actually talking about football.

2026 Bombers Season
yep. In theory he could, in practice probably not, in reality not any time soon. his velocity is fine. he needs touch and accuracy improvements, and decision making improvements. which you expect from a first game qb. he had some good throws and while he has limitations, his strengths still make him very useful.

2026 Bombers Season
I wonder if we are planning to roll out a double-tight alignment this year. With Wallace sliding out to T, a significant glut of OL despite the starters being set, moving Clercius to slot, bringing in another NI WR on starter money, plus drafting Daniels while also having MCI, it would make sense. Not to mention the American C, who played much of the first preseason game (they love Eli in the Te Pack) Our new heavy set would be double tight instead of just 1 te. That would give us 7 blockers on 4 DL and 2 lbers, guaranteeing at least 1, if not 2, double team blocks and forcing DBs to be 1-on-1 with the RB, but also with a big blocker, which would have the D wanting to sub to go heavy with 1-2 players as well, which would leave us needing to have Heavies who are also passing threats. As teams are carrying extra DL currently, but not full-size linebackers, especially not ones capable of man covering. Daniels isn't the best runner, but he's faster than Eli. (Who they like pass catching, crazy as that is.) The plan might be Wallace/Eli/Daniels as 1 TE more as primary blockers, but guys who have varying ability to release, and a guy like MCI/Clercius/Nield on the other spot doing more blocking and release on pass plays and more routes than blocking. And while the D is focusing on run fits and figuring out who covers the big guys, the likes of White/Wilson/Demski are left as afterthoughts to run mostly 1-on-1s with minimal help. Even the imp RB, rocker, is a big do-it-all tweener back. The depth of Canadian WRs we have are almost all big, slow, block and good hands types. It also kind of aligns with the volume of huge OL we have this year. We have 7 guys easily passing 330lbs. Vs just 2 under 305, and 3 under 310. Out of 14 ol in camp. We look like we are in an arms race, prepping for trench warfare in the run game. There is some precedent for this down south, 3 teams have been running 13 formation, most notably the Rams. Who are a team with a similar run pack, and who we have had more than a little overlap with in passing concepts going back through the last 3 OCs.
