March 27Mar 27 Author comment_748004 The CFLPA confirmed today that they haven't decided what to do with their share of revenue sharing. Just give everyone roster bonuses. https://3downnation.com/2025/03/27/cfl-salary-cap-increase-not-set-in-stone-cflpa-still-working-through-revenue-share-allocation/

Seriously, we get your point on roster but digging in your heels about Murphy being denied roster time is a strange use of this argument. At no time did he ever demonstrate that he was better than anyone on our roster.
March 28Mar 28 comment_748016 Murphy was an odd pick imo. Didn't play special teams at all, didn't really have any tangibles that set him apart as far as I'm aware. Always thought it was an odd pick, especially in the 3rd round. oh well, good luck to him in his future endeavors.

He had some potential that went unrealized....but yea...kind of a bit of a flyer in the 3rd round. Probably a 6th round talent really.

I watched him play a lot in RSEQ. 3rd round was a bit high, but he was also very productive in the RSEQ. Real clutch WR with great hands and could catch in traffic. But, he wasn't a big play game breaker like Kevin Mital was. Still, I'm surprised he wasn't a rotational WR in the CFL. Maybe he could have been on the Redblacks, but he's moved on. Good for him.

BC retains its lower second-round selection (No. 11)." It wasn't worth it, BC. Way to shoot yourself in both feet
March 28Mar 28 comment_748023 BC forfeits their 1st and 2nd round draft picks for 2024 salary cap violations. $350K, wow!
March 28Mar 28 comment_748024 It seems odd to me that Calgary benefits now by getting extra picks (last ones in the first two rounds) due to BC forfeiting. Am I understanding that right?

If you aren’t extremely versatile good luck. 10 minutes ago, wpgallday1960 said: BC forfeits their 1st and 2nd round draft picks for 2024 salary cap violations. $350K, wow! Wooooow. Yeah the expression is "sucks to suck" to "pays to suck" I guess "pays to suck" is the oldest profession. 5 minutes ago, Captain Blue said: It seems odd to me that Calgary benefits now by getting extra picks (last ones in the first two rounds) due to BC forfeiting. Am I understanding that right? Basically penalizes us for playing the most Canadian snaps by knocking that pick down 2 spots.
March 28Mar 28 comment_748027 Boy it’s a good thing BC has the marketing money to make up for those lost draft picks!

March 28Mar 28 comment_748030 Two lost draft picks and almost 650K in fines if teh 3down article is correct.....ouch!!!!

Yea...he has a point on Petey and Simonise but Woli was literally starting the last 5 games of his year 1 and held the starter position after that. As for Petey and Simonise, they did play many snaps for us and we moved on. Sometimes it is unfair to say they never got a chance when their production was pretty meh in the snaps they were given. Neither Petey nor Simonise has done much of anything since they left so it leads me to believe they just weren't good enough. When we release someone who actually produces somewhere else, the argument can be made we held them back but until then it's kind of unfair to criticize the brass for not playing inferior talent. I mean it's not like we held them on our PR until they were too old to be developed. Both Petey and Simonise were young enough when they left here that they could have shown they were being held back. Neither man did. Edited March 28Mar 28 by GCn20

BC forfeits the picks but then they are added back at the end of each round for Calgary. Not sure how they decided they are added before the extra Canadian picks instead of after. Nice reward for failure for Calgary. Could be gifting them two impactful players for nothing…because BC f’d up. To me, they are added picks. Teams lose their picks for supplemental draft and they aren’t handed out to other teams. Teams have lost picks for SMS violations in past years and they are just dropped from the draft.

Ya totally agree that it doesn't make sense. The picks should just be forfeited. Bombers aren't any worse off though. Just Calgary gets a huge bonus.
March 28Mar 28 comment_748037 Losing a 1st and a 2nd, plus a fine for finishing 3rd and losing in the first round of the playoffs. Way to go BC. Calgary getting 2 extra picks for being incompetent is foolish.
