If we lost Buck I can say it's a safe bet that he won't come here. He'll follow Campbell to Edmonton. Why would he? We have an old & fading Collaros who seems to shut down in Grey Cups. Our most experienced backup in Streveler is currently injured & can't throw a pass over 5 yards with any accuracy. He could never flourish in a Maksymic offense. It looks like Bombers have no plans to bring in any of the free agent qbs that will be available in February. so it'll be status quo. Maksymic has Tre Ford in Edmonton if they sign him, MBT or Adams should they decide to sign him. Edmonton may be on the rise & we are getting old.

Been hearing that for 3 years now.

Fun to sit and watch practice today... Been about 20 years since I was last able. With respect to the late great Randy Turner, the king of Odds and Sods writing.... here's some thoughts: -Al

  • Just to speak to Wolitarsky’s character and just what a good dude he is … few years back, some friends and I went to go see him play at Earl’s on Main and we ended up chatting with him and Streveler …

Really easy to always say that there's some mystical coach out there that would be a better fit.  We've been through generations as CFL fans watching teams including our own who keep believing that.

This makes no sense. We have been the West division champions for those 3 straight years. There are 4 other teams that should be firing their coaches every year by your standard.

You don't play for the chance to get to the Championship game. You play to win it. BIG difference.

Calgary has an owner that too cheap to buy coffee and muffins for the players meetings. I can't see how they could grade any better than the inevitable F they are going to get.

The Stamps organizations have no facilities or equipment for their players. It's a damned embarassment for a city of 1.6 million. Why anyone would want to play here is beyond me. During training camp in May when smoke from forest fires were causing issues with safe air quality, the Stamps had no indoor facility to shift practice to. They had no choice but to cancel practices. Multi billionaire owner Edwards won't build an indoor practice facility for his team unless the City pays. Multi billionaire owner Murray Edwards could buy a tract of land & build a stadium if he wanted but City has to pay. He said no.

Yea...they used to be a FA destination because they were winning. Now they will only attract flies.

What are you a communist? Only profits are private, all risk and expenses should be socialized.

I am still ******* angry at the sweetheart deal the governments out here gave the Flames.

The fact billionaires like Edwards and Tanenbaum are collecting revenue sharing payments from community owned teams to help support their teams should be embarrassing to these high risk captains of capitalism.

I said that Edwards has the money to build both facilities (practice & stadium) but wants the City to pay for it.  As much as the Stamps need a new stadium, they need a practice facility even worse. Go take your meds.

Interesting to see which way the Bombers would go if they lost Buck.
#BCLions have asked for permission to interview #Riders OC Marc Mueller for their HC position. BC is casting a wide net. #Bombers have asked for permission to speak to Lions OC Jordan Maksymic for their OC position, in the event they lose Buck Pierce to a HC job.

Cringe

A bit frustrating to read your comment that our receivers didn’t know what to do in Zone D? Did they not expect it in preparing during the week? Jeebus.

Talking in general over the course of the season not the Grey Cup game specifically.

Collaros and several of the rookie receivers could not get on the same page or took half a season to.  It's not an easy plug and play spot.  Schoen is the exception not the rule.

I think if we had 1-2 more guys around he trusted we wouldn't have seen the offense stalling out as much.  Like Bailey might be a couple years past his prime but a guy like Wheatfall out there was worse than useless.  Midseason we know Schoen isn't coming back and even that Wolitarsky is probably not going to be available much if it all the rest of the way....crazy they didn't pull the trigger on Bailey.

I got the impression that the Bomber braintrust was pretty stubborn in their ways, surprise, surprise (Walters & Osh). They would never admit they needed Bailey after they cut him even if they did.

Bailey was cut from Toronto and couldn't make the active roster in Ottawa. Not having Bailey was not a factor Re signing exbombers hasnt  been an issue ie Lofton and Taylor

Maybe, maybe not.  Wheatfall was basically a void out there.  Whitehead was busted up and can barely move.

You have another reliable target that Collaros trusts.  Maybe get 3-4-5-6 first down catches out of that guy.

In our back to back with Sask Wolitarsky had 6 catches for first downs in those close games.  Who took his place?

Okay to keep struggling with a rookie like Josh Johnson or Wheatfall but an experienced Bailey wouldn't have been a factor? That makes no sense. He would have helped immensely. bailey was cut in a salary cap move where Dinwiddie felt a Canadian receiver who was cheaper & could play his position. he was the Argos ;eading receiver when he was let go.
