I'd argue Hansen was at worst a very good special teamer and arguably a decent 3rd-4th DE in a rotation set.  A big reason we had so much success the previous handful of seasons was because we had Hansen and Kongbo as effective subs behind the Jeffs.

Although outside of him, the global program is more or less a failure.  It's basically just eliminated the jobs of Canadian punters and turned them into Aussie spots.

Fun to sit and watch practice today... Been about 20 years since I was last able. With respect to the late great Randy Turner, the king of Odds and Sods writing.... here's some thoughts: -Al

Really easy to always say that there's some mystical coach out there that would be a better fit.  We've been through generations as CFL fans watching teams including our own who keep believing that.

I took a dump this morning that was better than Thomas.  Definitely more agile.

Wait, this just in, I see we have one vote for JT against your dump (r.e., our friend rolly eye).

But seriously JT, thank you for your long term service to our BB’s, it’s been a great ride, time to turn the page to a new chapter.

According to CFL.CA, we have released the following players: Released: Wide receiver D’Marcus Adams*, wide receiver Geordon Porter*, offensive lineman Michael Todd*, defensive back Jordan Toles*, defensive back Quandre Mosely*, defensive lineman Dreydon Hall*, defensive lineman Camron Peterson*, linebacker Kobe Wilson*, defensive back Duron Lowe*

I have no strong opinions on these moves.

They didn't even get to first base.

Agreed. Comes down to not good enough or not learning the Canadian game as quickly as others.

It’s true. Such a damn waste.

Bailey is legit

Would think that’s what this is too, also maybe Laing. But as the roster is I don’t think we need a generic utility big body. We are gonna be loaded with big tweeners who can do a lot of situational stuff.

Maybe, could be he asked for one last tryout, he's been in the league since 2022, so why was he at rookie camp?

Just because he was released doesn't mean he was at rookie camp.  He missed most of last year so maybe he wasn't going to be ready for main camp so cut him now and use that roster spot elsewhere.

I haven’t seen anywhere that the BBs have actually signed Connor Shay.  Is he participating in NFL tryouts, or is his signing just a formality prior to TC.  Didn’t see him on the rookie camp list either.

or maybe I’m just crappy at researching this.

Mini camp invites with the Packers and Bills.

From what I see he accepted mini camp with the jets, which wraps up today. The packers ended on the 3rd, the bills on the 10th.
So I would expect either he gets an ota/tc deal or he probably signs with us this week.
Elgersma was rumoured to be getting a full tc deal, then it was him going for a final set of interviews that could yield the deal but that hasn’t been finalized yet either.
Hopefully the nfl delays won’t lead to kids like them sitting hoping for some thing that doesn’t come.

Parker at safety

Bridges at corner

Eli at LG

Schoen and lawson doing some running.

I think Parker and Bridges are just being given opportunity to determine their versatility in other positions.  I'm not saying either are at specific risk but we have 10 rookie DB's fighting to make the roster. COMPETITION at both of those positions is somewhat open.

It's only day 1 so in the grand scheme of things doesn't mean much yet. It's whether specific players get extended looks at specific spots for several days.

I'm not quite sure what to think about Lawson and Schoen moved to " injured veteran " list.  Does this mean they may not be available to start the season? That changes several things.

Looks like the jets signed two other udfa tweener lbers and I don’t see any thing from them in news about Shay other than that he attended rookie camp.
Similar with the packers camp news. So I bet Shay signs with in a week here.

I'd be shocked if he not here

Never thought of Parker at safety...he'd be lethal there...Best closer in the secondary in my opinion...and one of if not the fastest

I don't think Parker is in jeopardy of not making final roster in the least...he can play all the db spots..and Sam.. and is probably best form tackler on team...same with closing ability..mind u I havnt been to camp yet to see the new guys..but he hasn't been kept around 2+ yrs outta charity
