Blue In BC got a reaction from rebusrankin in Cats at Bombers GDTOf course that's how the ratio works whether he's a full time starter or not. Daniels comes on and a Canadian receiver comes off. If the TE is an American then an import receiver comes off. Obviously in order to make room for an import TE then someone like Ayers would have to come off. Regardless, that TE would have to be capable of being an offensive weapon and not just an extra blocker. You even suggested that requirement. At the moment we've already switched to a 3 Canadian receiver in order to have 3 import OL.
The only other option is to replace an import OL for a Canadian for those snaps a import TE is used.
There are only 4 DI roster spots which is the bigger issue IMO. We're already NOT choosing to have a receiver as a DI. We CHOOSE to draft a Canadian TE as part of the equation forming the ratio and use of our DI's.

Blue In BC got a reaction from Blue-urns in Bombers at Stamps GDTHe could have given up a point because a FG would still win the game and we'd start at the 40 yard line anyway.

Blue In BC reacted to Booch in Bombers at Stamps GDTyeaH ZC earned his salary that last drive. He made the huge pass he needed to early and was calm and composed about *** and didnt force/rush anything...then allowed us to use BO and basically run the clock out knowing we had mr clutch to kick the winner.
I truly was expecting a forced ball into double or triple coverage for the nut kicking INT but he made a vintage ZC play...hopefully a sign of more to come and he looked way more settled and in tune with what Condell is wanting to do...He is one of the biggest signings this offseason and is gonna be good for multiple players on offence
Still wondering tho about ZC arm...will chalk this one up to basically horrible conditions and lack of reps thru camp with the #1's....Lets see what he does with hipefully ideal weather on thursday and a game under his belt.
We still tho really need another WR who has...or can have any kind of impact/influence in the game and on a defence...That Corcorran/Cobb combi is just flailing away at nothing ...If Clercius was available and we were to move him and Neild around outide...inside...etc then that be a lil more productive and beneficial.
Even tho Elsbury was "ok" he wasn't really a dominating force and the roster implications and taking an import away from elsewhere with his playing ...either on defence or at WR doesnt really have a real net benefit for us and makes us weaker overall
Now if Woodbey is out for the yr than we mist give Smith the opportunity as well as more Shay and with Ayers..Wilson..Jones..Smith..Shay..Griffin already on the roster we can replace Woodbeys spot with either another DL guy like Reese or Fletcher...Or add Singer ...Another DB would be a waste as Osh seems tied to running Kelly and Hallett out there...And with Singer on roster Vaval could if need be cover an injury in the DB backfield and Singer could help carry the load on returns
If Dixon needs ro miss a few games its a certainty that Fletcher gets on and be good to see what he does with the number 1's early in season so we kinda know what we got...Hopefully we dont do the dumb thing and slot in Korn...nothing like taking a step fotward with dline play and next game take 2 steps back
Also must say..Perkins is a smooth..smart and really good short yardage guy...Just imagine midway thru the yr when he more accustomed to CFL ball how good he will be...he's gonna bust a big run sooner or later...I hope too we install some rpo type package for him or some QB sprint out bootleg type stuff to gas a defence a bit and really spread things out....Nothing from the pocket for now but a lot of motion and option looks

Blue In BC got a reaction from rebusrankin in 2026 Bombers SeasonYeah, those are among my thoughts as well. I am leaning towards Kelly as the odd man out and Stuart in for ST work and versatility. Munier-Bailey is an asset. Gatkouth makes the roster almost by default. I like the idea of Jenkins and Dixon both on the roster.
What this means for Fletcher or Young is probably PR to start the season?

Blue In BC got a reaction from rebusrankin in 2026 Bombers SeasonI'm not opposed to starting Smith at WIL. However I think Woodbey would be the next man. If we do that, then I'd replace K. Wilson with another import DT where we're really thing.
The whole nationalized import is of limited value IMO. The players listed ( except Wilson ) will be starting virtually every down barring injury. It's of value if you have a veteran as a back up but it comes at the cost of another import that could give more reps without any count limitation.
Smith didn't get many reps on defence last year. Going from that to starting regardless of upside is interesting and pros may outweigh cons.
I think Singer made the AR on the weekend even if that was still in question before the game. He's just way better and more versatile than Cobb or Corcoran.

Blue In BC got a reaction from wbbfan in 2026 Bombers SeasonI don't know if Vaval is really being considered to start at CB. He might be capable but he's very valuable as our returner and can be an in game injury replacement if necessary.
You'd think one of the remaining 6 or 7 rookie import DB's will win that role. Or they are giving serious thought to moving Allen and shuffling the SAM and safety roles.
Reports from TC might suggest who is winning which battles.

Blue In BC got a reaction from kelownabomberfan in 2025 SMS spend?Bombers post $12.1M profit in 2025. Excellent work and support by the fans selling out every game.

Blue In BC got a reaction from kelownabomberfan in 2025 SMS spend?Bombers have sold out a lot of games over the recent past including all in 2025 IIRC. Safe to believe they made a very good profit. Nothing to worry about in that regard.

Blue In BC got a reaction from Bigblue204 in 2025 SMS spend?I wasn't expecting any team to lose a draft choice or to go over the SMS by any significant amount or at all.
OTOH it would be interesting to see the results and compare the SMS spend to the standings. The problem is we only see overages. Even that isn't a direct relationship to season ending roster. Money left could be spent re-signing players and that could include and overage
I'd like to see what each team spent after final game and then amount spent in December before free agency.

Blue In BC got a reaction from Blue-urns in Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion ThreadI didn't get the impression from O'Shea that moving Kramdi was in the cards. Ratio wise Kramdi switching with Griffin offsets but it eliminates an import safety ( Allen to CB ). That would give us 3 changes in the secondary and 1 at SAM. Yes there is some experience and ability to do that. However we also have 3 changes on the DL.
I think your bias against Kramdi is influencing your thought on changes.
It's not the math of how many Canadian starters we have. It's the fixed number of imports allowed on the roster. I'm not convinced we go we 3 Canadian receivers although that would create the ratio switch from receiver to OL. For that matter I'm not entirely convinced we do go to 3 import OL. Considering the number of OL signed it may turn out as more likely than I believe. Even you suggested an import rookie receiver starting.
Anyway. We've added some great talent this week and I'm not sure which combinations we'll see when all is said and done. Lots of choices to be made.

Blue In BC got a reaction from Noeller in Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion ThreadWe'll agree to disagree about the upfront money especially for a player I wouldn't expect to have a high salary.
I think most posters don't think Kramdi to safety is the best idea but the combination of changes you suggest is possible. None of them would be my 1st choice but it's all guesswork at the moment.
That's good to know as one of our choices.

Blue In BC got a reaction from rebusrankin in Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion ThreadI don't know about the reasonable deal thought. IIRC he was released after 2024 in Hamilton due to a large bonus payment coming due. Now the same happens in Vancouver. However IMO he'd be an upgrade and we should speak with his agent to see what his expectations might be.
