That's true, but the one year contract often serves the purpose of getting them a raise every year without having to lock in at the same rate they received the previous year.

Oh for sure. It’s served every purpose for players. Hasn’t benefited any of the ways it was supposed to for teams. Like walters said no one is willing to take cuts after disappointing years but every one wants a raise for doing the same.
Hasn’t given us more player movement and teams the ability to change their fortune in one off season.

Fun to sit and watch practice today... Been about 20 years since I was last able. With respect to the late great Randy Turner, the king of Odds and Sods writing.... here's some thoughts: -Al

  • Just to speak to Wolitarsky’s character and just what a good dude he is … few years back, some friends and I went to go see him play at Earl’s on Main and we ended up chatting with him and Streveler …

Really easy to always say that there's some mystical coach out there that would be a better fit.  We've been through generations as CFL fans watching teams including our own who keep believing that.

I'm assuming Bryant is an automatic for the ring of honour?

He's as much a lock as anyone can be.

While with the Blue and Gold he's been a CFL all-star 6 times, 4 time most outstanding lineman, 2 time Grey Cup winner and has been an anchor on our offensive line for (now) 10 seasons.

He along with MOS.

I think the question is do all 3 mafioso go up? What wade has done for grass roots, and for involving kids/people in remote communities alone is hof worthy. What he’s done financially, creating a winning culture, and a long line of highly successful front office types to coaches is extraordinary. Walters with the player management side, scouting, resigning is an exceptional candidate as well.

of the 3 he should be first to be in the ring,...that being Miller....as he was a player...and then team prez...and turned this turd around.....Osh certainly, and maybe along with Walter's together, tho I think for Kyle it may be a long shot....maybe yrs down the road he could tho

Transactions:

2024-12-02 WPG Rogers, Patrick DB A Central Washington ADD Game Roster

2024-12-02 WPG Dandy, Russell DB A Eastern Illinois ADD Game Roster

Both were in training camp this past year, Dandy was also brought back in Sept when practice rosters expanded.

For a team that is able to find top end talent at DB, they also seem to keep on bringing the same guys back.

Zach and Bighill go in before Brady, that's for sure. They're in the first wave with Bryant and Willie and Harris

I question whether Harris should go in the Ring of Honour thanks in part due to the success Brady has had.

Sure Harris had some great seasons with the Bombers and was part of the team that won the 1st Cup in 29 years but should he be one of the chosen few?

Where do they drawn the line? Why would Harris go in and not Reaves? Because Harris is from Winnipeg?

He can be celebrated when he goes into the Bomber Hall of Fame.

I don't see a problem with this. If they're good they're good. And some continue to get better.
