Was there really no good defensive ends in the league this year??

I would have given Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund the nod over Willie but he also had a much better surrounding cast to work with.  D-Line stats (not just at DE) were way down from last year so nobody really stood out I guess.

The league leader in sacks had 8 this year.

Yup, last year there were 7 guys with double digit sacks - numbers were way down this year.

When you spend all season hyping up a guy (Milligan)... you kind of have to put him on the all-star team... at least that's how the CFL media thinks...

Sayles, Micah, and Willie clearly prove name recognition is more important that actual playing ability... I would take Nichols over every one of the CFL "all-stars" in the secondary

and not to be biased....But Bonds too

Down the stretch I actually think griffin has out performed bonds as well. Crazy wealth of talent we have in the back end though. Could for the first time in ages go into next camp with out an opening in the secondary.

Cuz holding is no longer a penalty for Olinemen

Qft. Dl have the hardest go of it against reffing odds in all sports. It’s pretty crazy how far the pendulum has swung away from them.

weighted for the whole season I would say Griffin has been in our top 4 defenders

If I'd have to rank them for over all season I'd say Nichols....Ford...Griffin...Woods....Bonds.....if Garbutt played whole yr he would have put a real solid rookie season together and it would have flowed to WJ who for all arguments sake had a solid yr....and was used in an odd manner....His holding back playing pass lane disruptor was by scheme....not his free lancing or taking plays off

But with WJ...and Nichols as the older vets thats 5 other solid pieces to work with moving forward....and thats not including Fox..Lawson...Adams...Ayers....Person....and Jones.....regardless if we pick up a free agent or find some gem in our scouting/draft we have the makings for a legit defence already....and when camp breaks and another guy makes it impossible to not roster...even better

The way I see it Thomas...Biggie...Wilson....BA....Schmeck don't even need to be in camp.....purge that salary and allocate it elsewhere...

Not disputing anything you say, Booch. You are arguing what ought. Here is what is:

You can have a Jake Maier for 300k. (after all figures added in)

You can have Dru Brown for 355k (rises to 400k next season and then he'll get a Big Boy contract afterward if he continues as a frontline starter)

You can have a Trevor Harris for 361k (he was on 500k and took a pay cut).

You can have Bo Levi for 361k (he made all of his bonuses and looks the bargain of the league after the pay-cut he took)

You can have a Cody Fajardo for 450k (after easily makeable bonuses).

You can have Vernon Adams Jr for 500k.

You can have a Zach or The Chad for 600k.

Welcome to the desert of the real, Neo.

The CFL needs to have a franchise player designation where a team can pay a player independent of the salary cap & it's not affected by it. I mean, this only makes too much common sense which is why Scarf Boy never did it. Or probably never even thought of it.

I hope the clown was wearing his mask while he ranted and raved.  While he does have an argument, he just looks like a ****** for crying about it like that.

Yeah... I think deserved to be on it.....I'd take him as our safety any day, but the whining is a bad look...Must be Hangry again lol

Nichols got the snub.....you don't hear him whining...he's been snubbed a lot....just keeps his nose down and works.....safe in the fact he knows his peers and other players know he is the best

What an embarrassment that will be for the CFL. Hosting the premier event at a stadium that looks like it's been abandoned by an American High school team.

But they do have that horse that stands on the sideline waiting for TD's that never come.
