A meeting with Dickie and grandpa Huff, a quick tour of the facilities and a retreat out the door, concluded with a "**** no" before he got back to his car.

It’s funny to see Calgary as just another team. Making Houston one of the highest paid DB’s in the league says desperation to me. For every big play he made he got burned double.

Man o man....If Walker thought he was going to go to some kind of nirvana in Cal., after playing in that stadium a few times , he just had some kind of rude awakening....Add Prukop to the qb. stable and it was 'I'm outta here'.......

correction Prukop to the leo's .....stamps picked up Schiltz .....same dif.

Nothing but appreciation for the guy.

I honestly don't know why guys like Walker who are likely to be below average salary and don't really have a huge opportunity to ever be more than that would sign up here and not go to UFL.

Taxes alone it seems not worth it.

Schiltz tho could be a capable starter for a number of games and actually produce...especially with talent around him and a decent line..Prukop not so much

Poopkup can qb keep though. Which for some reason is treated like it’s suddenly super hard?

I’m betting walker was getting north of 100k from cal. Not far north but a bit. I don’t think even with proximity to home and possible tax savings / conversion that he’d make that down south.
It’s also a fledgling league that already has more players than spots.

No hate. When the end is near youve gotta make as much bank as you can. Miss you Yoshi.

For sure. This is likely his last big year of earning. He had to set himself up. Good chance he doesn't see the 2nd year of that payout. That's not a knock on Yoshi, just the reality that O'day will likely lose his job after the season and the new GM is unlikely to value a 250k contract to a IMP RT. Just the reality.

I would think it wasn't just our Oline, from my amateurish vantage point in looking across other teams short yardage specialists I gotta say DP ranks probably #1 but obviously came expendable with us in the signing of Strev.

But I do appreciate the need to bring more than that to the table especially at the QB position.

yup...served us well...and will retire a Bomber if not just as a 1 day contract....was a huge piece of the pie here...but enemy now....and wish him luck...gonna need it there

sad part of it all is his poor kids now have to enter the school system there

If they are past grade three, they are already smarter than most people in Saskatchewan.
