I didn't expect Rourke back in the CFL in 2024. However, this creates an opportunity / opening that didn't exist yesterday. The $300K advance payout to Kelly is an SMS issue and I have no idea if Rourke is remotely interested at the moment.

Lots of questions including will Kelly be banned from playing at a later date and his CFL career over? Will the league negate his contract and relieve the Argos of the SMS hit from the advance?

There's no way the league is going to give a break on any sms punishment to a team they're investigating. That would be an absolutely horrible look.

The wording in the CFL statement is pretty clear and it's not a good look for the Argo's who filed a statement of defense last week stating they had no knowledge of this stuff and what they did know wasn't quite what she said.

They say they are going be talking to the club about their role in this but if the investigation showed that Kelly clearly violated the policies, I don't see how there won't be punishment coming for the Argo's front office as well.

Ya wasn't John Murphy implicated in trying to bury this too

Argos shouldn't get cap relief for this and frankly should be punished as well. They all knew.

This is a great point. If the argos are any bit as guilty as it’s been made out they should immediately be punished and not get support. That said I don’t think the league will punish the argos in a way that hurts their on the field quality.

Here's something stupid:

So the CFL has a Canadian QB internship program.  And U Sports runs the East-West bowl, which is a huge scouting event for the CFL.

And of course they run the East-West bowl on the first weekend of CFL training camps.

So....a bunch of the Canadian QB's in the program are not in the CFL camps getting reps.

And CFL GM's have to choose to be at their own camp or at the East-West.

WHY?

Because it's the arrogance between U Sports & the CFL. That just tells you just how close they work together to make something actually work.

Yes. Miller would pull out a knife and fork and them protestors would head for the hills.

Something tells me Miller wouldn't get within ten kms of any protestors.

So glad the league did the right thing (the wait didn’t look good, but in light of the independent investigation into the matter it’s understandable). The Argos whole organization is going to have endure be “Blackhawked”, but it will ultimately be best for this league going forward.

John Murphy should be fired AGAIN for being the biggest ******* in the room next to Kelly.

Yeah Murphy & Pinball were mentioned by name (along with others).  Not sure Murphy tried to bury it but when it was brought to his attention (allegedly) he kind of blamed her for opening a can of worms that didn't need to be opened.

Murphy had an obligation to report the incident to the league and failed to do so. Regardless of Kelly’s guilt or innocence, Murphy failed to adhere to league policy.
