I know that the Riders faithful thinking booming kicks into the end zone is a winning strategy but it wasn't. The Riders team knows this, which is why they are moving on. However, Ryan had a long career and could have just retired after leaving the Seachickens. I doubt the money he got from the Riders made much of a difference in his life but he chose to come back to play for his home team. I have a lot of respect for him for doing something that he just wanted to do. If you are punting from inside your say 35 him punting is atleast a decent gamble. He will out kick the cover team but could flip field position in a huge way. Out side of that it's a lose lose deal. I never got why he didn't devote time to kick offs. He could've been a specialist much longer in the nfl if he did.
