"swaggerville" started as a quiet internal thing.... the guys would talk about it here and there but it seemed like more of a locker room thing than anything.... that I was ok with... anything to bring the guys together.... then it got out of hand.... with help from the media.... and everyone knows the rest of that story...

Nice work... I think I'm most impressed that you were actually able to find highlights from the Edmonton game!
  3. My biggest concern going in is LaFevour exploits us the same way Reilly did... hopefully our LBs have their tracking devices working Thurs night... and tackling the way we did against BC
  4. I personally think Milo and Austin are safe for the year.... short of an absolute complete disaster... like 1-10, 2013 Bombers style... Maybe Benevides is the Lions continue to struggle... but like someone else said, I can't imagine a mid-season coaching change any time soon

If I was the GM I'd probably be on the chopping block right now... I was a Collaros guy... but that being said, I always admitted along the way I hadn't really seen much of Willy (prior to this year, obviously) so I didn't really know what he would bring...
  6. That's exactly it... I've never understood why some people were so up in arms over hiring Buck as a RB coach.... "But he never played RB!!!" they said
  7. I admit I've been advocating for changing the ratio over the past couple years.... and I still think it's necessary if there's a tenth team.... but this does bring up a good point that maybe there are a lot of Canadians that can play skill positions... they just haven't got the opportunity yet.... this team should be fun to watch going forward...

I like that the discussion this year has has more 'what can we do to get better?' and less 'let's blow this thing up and rebuild'....
  9. I think Buck can have a lot of influence on the RBs.... his job is not to say "hold the ball this way" or "run that way"... his job for in game adjustments would be to ask the RB what he saw on a particularly bad play and figure out a way to fix it... recognize defensive formations, pick up blitz, pre-snap reads, etc... Buck would know a lot about these things...
  10. The thing is that if we had acquired Glenn he wouldn't have even seen the field yet anyways.... I think Walters was never willing to give up much for him...
  11. one 50 yard kick doesn't qualify as consistently.... a little premature for this conversation...
  12. Our overall run game is definitely a concern right now... the return of Chris Greaves will help.... but there were a couple time I distinctly remember Grigsby making the wrong read... maybe it's time to see what Cotton brings
  13. I laughed way too hard at this.... only cuz I was thinking the same thing
  14. The backlash has nothing to do with the idea.... trading January for a starting Canadian O-lineman (or any position) would be fantastic.... problem is it's never, ever going to happen.... the most any team would give up for an American tackle in his 30s is a late round pick... I'd guess most teams would rather wait to see what shakes out of the NFL if they are looking to upgrade at import tackle... And the circumstances around the Neufeld pick were completely different.... he was a back up (injured) with Sask and they would likely lose him to Ottawa since he wouldn't have been protected....whether Taman makes that trade or not Neufeld, is not on their 2014 roster... a tiny bit of research or just a basic memory coulda figured this out...
  15. This whole "depth problem" with Nationals that a lot of the CFL is experiencing is easy to fix.... CHANGE THE RATIO.... with Ottawa in the league there are now 21 extra Canadians (with 7 starting) who are were not even good enough to be back ups last year.... there is simply not enough quality Canadian players to sustain this ratio
  16. You make a good point here... if everyone was healthy the depth likely woulda been 1) Cotton 2) Ford .... leaving Grigsby to take a PR spot or be let loose...
  17. Just what I was thinking .... Cornell is small even by DE standards, never mind DT.... I'm all for guys playing everywhere but unless he can beat them with speed, I don't see O-linemen having much issues with a 225 lb interior lineman...
  18. It's no surprise that we're lacking depth.... a lot of the conversation going into the season is "our NI talent is ok if we can stay healthy".... well we haven't and it's shown.... but we're still 3-1 and have an opportunity to go 4-1 this week.... so it could be worse....
  19. Can pretty much bank on 1-5 West 6-9 East For most of the season
  20. I would rather see Knapp on the Bench, I haven't decided about Howard yet but to me Knapp is built like a TE and plays Tackle Like a TE Poorly 285 lbs is one hell of a TE.... Knapp is playing cuz of his athleticism... I think he can be a pretty effective player... perhaps he could afford to put a few of the pounds back on that he took off in the winter...

I think what makes this frustrating.... whether he "gave himself up" or not.... is that the refs definitively say that Washington didn't touch him by not blowing the play dead.... If Washington doesn't let up, it's basically a guaranteed 15 yard penalty...
  22. As far as the D-line goes... I won't be surprised to see Zach Anderson line up at DE for much of the game... I'm a big fan of this guy
  23. Yeah that was the final straw for me too. Mitch and Bob were being very kind in their comments after the Montreal game despite what a ****-show it was, and on comes Kelly and says "I've been listening to all of the bullshit you guys have been sayin' and I'm pissed off" - on live radio. It was the most non-classy, stupid things I've ever heard from a professional coach. Just unbelievable. The worst part was literally every single week that season there was some sort of controversy revolving Mike Kelly or the team, until they strung together 3 wins. They went those 3 weeks without a fire to put out and looked like they had turned the corner both on and off the field. Then came the Montreal game and the media bullshit comment, and it was back to square one. What a freakin clown show. Having said that I'd still take Kelly over Burke. The day Kelly was fired I never thought I'd want him over ANY other coach... then along came Tim Burke...
  24. haha... perhaps you meant precedent??
  25. Aug 7 will sell out for sure.... unfortunately it will involve about 5000 green jerseys but the bombers still make the profits...
