Again, we come to the point where some "Christians" choose to believe that their interpretations of the Bible or even doctrine not part of Christian tradition entitles then to superiority over unbelievers. Yeshua, who is commonly called Jesus is recorded as saying that His greatest teaching was that we should love one another as He loved us.
  16. To some, yes, We cannot heal what we will not acknowledge. I have known those were damaged by the residential school system and those whose experience was benign, but thee second were far fewer. Pretending it never happened is the path to it recurring.

Intolerance has nothing to do with belief or spirituality. There are and always have been those in every social group whose identity is so fragile that it must be continuously reinforced that they and they alone have The Answer and everyone else is "other"- essentially sub-human and therefore not the chosen. The greatest teachings within religion and without speak of the great unity of humans- that we are all drawn from the same source and to do harm to others is to do harm to all.

Top Des Moines meteorologist resigns after receiving death threats for climate change coverage In Des Moines, Iowa, Chris Gloninger has been the top meteorologist at KCCI-TV, the city's CBS affiliate. Gloninger has been reporting on a subject that meteorologists are well aware of: climate change — and some far-right MAGA Republicans have responded with threats of violence. On Wednesday, June 21, Gloninger announced, on Twitter, that he was leaving the station — and cited the threats as a factor in his decision. In his statement, Gloninger explained, "18 years. 7 stations. 5 states. I am bidding farewell to TV to embark on a new journey dedicated to helping solve the climate crisis. After a death threat stemming from my climate coverage last year and resulting PTSD, in addition to family health issues, I've decided to begin this journey now." The Des Moines Register reports that in September 2022, a man in Lenox, Iowa was fined $105 for harassing Gloninger in a series of e-mails. One of them read, "You are worthless Biden puppet, a liar, a conspiracy theorist, and an idiot!!! You give Iowa a bad name, GO HOME B—-. https://www.alternet.org/climate-change-2661712641/

If memory serves, Clive Cussler wrote a novel a while back about this kind of scenario.

Nothing new here. If the LGBTQ community did not exist, these same bigots would be railing against gays, Muslims, Hindus, vegans and/or the "wrong" kind of Christians.
  21. As an example of why we need an active government, I reference the current Canada Bread price-fixing scandal.

That, by itself, does not constitute a definitive outcome, but with the elapsed time it does. It looks like the previously unaddressed concerns doomed the submersible costing lives of innocent people. BTW: did you know that all of the pools on the Titanic are still filled with water?

At this point, the mission becomes recovery, not rescue.
