HERE WE GO! It appears that the anticipated Russian civil war has begun between Prighozin's mercenary army and forces loyal (for now) to Putin. Army vehicles are rolling into Moscow and heavy fighting is reported between the two sides on the main highway into Moscow some 80 km away.

I tried Al-Adon's Pizza on Portage Avenue a while back on a recommendation but was very disappointed. The crust and meats were good, but the sauce was almost nonexistent and it had as much salt on it as Portage Avenue in Winter. It was nearly inedible.

One thing history teaches us is that massive change can happen abruptly- like Matthias Rust's flight into Russia exposing their previously unknown lax air defence system with Breznev's subsequent sacking of almost the entire military Russian leadership. This led to the brief hope that democracy might flourish in Russia. Unfortunately, it did not and led to the rise of oligarchs and Putin. The Russian military has lost about half of its warmaking capabilities and credible reports indicate that some 500,000 military personnel are either dead or disabled to the point where they cannot be of any military use. Moreover, the head of the mercenaries Sergei Prighozin is openly mocking the Russian military leadership and the political command. This cannot go on and a coup is entirely possible, even probable, but if that would be an improvement is unknown.
  12. This debacle has been brewing for the past couple of games prior. The Bomber secondary has looked shaky from game one and was (IMO) against the Riders than against the TiCats and was almost completely inept last night. I have no explanation for how incredibly poorly the Bomber o-line played against even the Lions' three-man rush. It was like none of them had even met each other before gametime.

Getting Interesting....... US Senators introduced a bipartisan resolution declaring Russia's use of nuclear weapons or destruction of the occupied Zaporizhia Nuclear Powerplant in Ukraine to be an attack on NATO requiring the invocation of NATO Article 5 = NATO attack on the Russians.

To underline your point: once Rome officially became "Christian", the human sacrifices in the arenas switched from Christians to pagans and watched with the same gusto.

The right wing, led by Faux, is so desperately bereft of substance to manufacture rage about that they are seizing on anything, no matter how moronic, to try to create furore.

Even before Yeshua died, there was friction among His followers. Some believed that they should completely secede from the traditional Jewish faith and practices but others believed that they ought to be just another sect of Judaism, following of circumcision diet and other rules. After His crucifixion, there came open hostilities and a schism. Such is humankind.

Conservatives Are Now Blaming The Titanic Sub Tragedy On 'Wokeness' On Sunday, the submersible Titan went missing far off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada, in the North Atlantic ocean. The tourist expedition, led by OceanGate, a company that runs submersible trips for tourism and exploration, was supposed to take five men to view the shipwreck of the Titanic, nearly 13,000 feet below sea level. A search for the sub, which included OceanGate Expeditions CEO Stockton Rush onboard, is now over after debris from the vessel was located following an apparent “catastrophic implosion,” the U.S. Coast Guard said Thursday. As the U.S. and Canadian governments shelled out funds in the rescue and recovery effort, the media reported on a series of safety concerns that most likely led to the sub going missing. But conservatives had another theory. Could the sub have disappeared because OceanGate’s CEO went “woke”? Wokeness has become a new boogeyman for the right, and no one is safe — even in a case like this, with five people believed to have lost their lives in the deep sea. Being woke once meant being aware of social injustices, but conservatives have appropriated it to refer to anything that they disagree with or that has a hint of liberalism. It’s often used as a not-very-subtle replacement for racial slurs. On Wednesday afternoon, Fox News’ Jesse Watters suggested on the network’s show “The Five” that the men may have perished in the sub because Rush was too woke. “There’s been lawsuits, there’s been accusations about slashing regulations. He’s quoted as saying he didn’t hire a bunch of 50-year-old white guys with military experience because he didn’t want his vessels to be not inspirational for a younger generation,” Watters said, referring to the OceanGate CEO previously stating that he didn’t want to hire older white men.
  25. That is the most disheartening part of this debacle.
