We have 5 games to fine tune Streveler now...knowing he is the man for the year...those games, coupled with the progress he's shown in the last 3 starts will do wonders for him...he will have by then seen what he needs to see...probably had a few learning moments, but also find his areas he can exploit too...I don't think he has the make-up to falter, and not be successful and he will do whatever he has to...will be if anything fun to witness I also think as well come cold playoff weather time his style of play, and the threat to run he is gonna have teams cheating on will really open up other things for him...that he will have seen and figured out how to take advantage of...for all his brute power and what seems like reckless abandon...he is also uber smart, and from reports here, and in College he learns fast and basically picks up a correction in one try...you show him..tell him..coach him..or he learns via an error...he rarely goes back to the same gaff

McGuire showed and seemed to have nice pocket presence and the ability and comfort to sit in pocket..and make throws..all of which he showed he has arm for. Hopefully if there any games where we are up..we get him game time reps. Hate to make it to grey cup again with another Dinwiddie scenario..mind u McGuire has a gun and can do things with his passing that dinwiddie would only dream of

I dont..save for Ottawa and possibly T.O if they dont trade Franklin indeed them as the only teams who will be in a starter hunt..and they prob both go hard at Arbuckle. There's no real place he can beat out a current starter in place.. his options are limited..and nobody is gonna pay 500k let alone prob 300k now coming off surgery with no guarantee he is still capable

For his experience solely.. and he can run our offence as it is now really..prob quite well if he had to

Well possibly blessing in disguise..The team..and in that coaches can fully invest now in Streveler knowing he is the man till next year..and formulate everything to and for him. He can win for us..well heck he has to now and he can also play without looking over his shoulder too now. Prob allow us to for next year to sign both of em..Strev being starter with a first yr starter type deal...and Nichols dependent on injury and prognosis signing a lesser type deal for an experienced backup dollar figure..with games started incentive if Strev craps all over himself That being said..I bet we swing a deal to pry Franklin outta T.O after this weekend..regardless how well..or bad Strev looks vs Hamilton

thats why I loved Cal Murphy and he had success...you had a team down...you keep kicking and pile on...and he took heat for it around the league for showing teams up...but he didn't give a rats arse....and if he seen a player ease up and coast....he wouldn't think twice to remove from game day roster next game...or flat out release you the following week... I too am sickened by the mr nice guy image they want to promote....time to start being a bit of a prick...and trust me...a team feeds off that and never lets up and have the late game issues we do You can't just turn it on and off in the course of a game when you feel the need...its pedal down...for 60 minutes...nothing more..nothing less

I figured that once Jeffcoat was back we may roll with Kongbo and Hansen as the rotation guys at Roh's expense in some games, and use his DI spot for hopefully Bailey on offence...to me makes best use of our DI's Kongbo is more than adequate and with more reps gets better and better...Roh is good..don't get me wrong but Jeffcoat and Jefferson are better...and Kongbo has more upside. Interesting how the coaches have viewed O-line pecking order...Desjarlais has fared well, and in my opinion may be the best in the long run compared to Speller..Gray has been good...and bad, but right now Neufeld is the best of all the interior guys, and experience down the stretch is key...can't be having mental gaffs when games really matter...Is Gray hurt and thus why he has been surpassed this week by Speller and Desjarlais? Ace in hole is we still have Eli on PR and he in my opinion will be the best of all our Nationals, and possibly even next year.

you can't cherry pick a specific drive out of a game, or a specific stat and ignore the whole body of work....especially in football...

Hardly smoke and mirrors...we lead CFL in total touchdowns at 45...next best team has 39 Of the 45...37 are scored on offence...with 8 from Def and ST The second best scoring team (HAM) has scored 39 touchdowns...33 from their offence and 6 from Def and ST So by your logic Hamilton is all smoke and mirrors too... Calgary also...34 total touchdowns...but 6 of which came from ST and DEF....didn't realize there was a plethora of smoke and mirror teams at top of the leagues standings Last time i played...and checked.... ST and Defense were a big part of the team and vital in wins..being it scoring themselves, or preventing scores..of which we lead the league in least TD's given up as well as being tied for first with total points allowed...is that smoke and mirrors too? We have had a couple utterly pathetic brain farts, wedged between for what is the most part some pretty dominating football over all, and that was with missing anywhere from 3 to 7 starters along the way for the most part...Fool me once shame on..fool me twice shame on me....I highly doubt this team gets to a fool me three times scenario...can't see that happening I also don't include the Sask last drive win in the T.O and MTL class of crap...that was a different situation and sometimes that happens...the second game against them was proof of who truly is the better team

mere blips in what is the grand scheme of a season...other teams too have had gaffs...that being said, no other team has shown the sheer domination during games .for extended periods like Winnipeg has, and some of those early games where we were basically over at halftime, and we coasted breeded a bit of complacency...with players and coaches...figuring we just had to show up for the last bit of a game and play safe and we would win...Toronto game showed different...Sask labour day one was basically 2 minutes of a combination of things so I'm not grouping that into the T.O and MTL collapses. This team learned a lesson in T,O...had it hammered home in MTL...from a mindset of a former player, that WON'T happen again. Sometimes you need a few slaps upside the head to get a point across to someone....these were our slaps....And I am gonna go on record now saying we close out going 4-1...and sit and wait for whover comes outta the slugfest of the WSF

yeah I was at the stadium for other reason..totally forgot about fan appreciation but was a very good turn out and seemed all around positive vibe...Bought a Lucky 7 shirt tho while there and was lucky..no pun intended that was the last one in my size

I have faith...but also have been in a locker room and know how players think..feel..react...and I wouldn't be shocked with Streveler utilizing his option to call an audible if he doesn't like what he see's and take the bull by the horns....and no thats not going rogue by any stretch...

correct me if I'm wrong but we are still in first...win next week which is a given because this team is pissed beyond belief right now and we are still in first, Montreal coming here will receive the same game Sask got from a pissed team that knew they shouldn't have lost and that has us at 11 wins...I truly don't see Sask beating us in 2 weeks...even in their crapper bowl of a stadium, and if we split with CGY...we stayed in first...wire to wire...thats how I see it panning out...so correct me if I'm wrong then...lol

on a bright side to this game though....until they Neutered Streveler in the second half, I think made a huuuge stride and has settled right in...more experience and reps with his unique skill-set..look out. That INT as well was a perfect play by the DB...He gambled and read the play right and won....left his man and jumped the route...Happens to the best of the best. You learn from that and next time you bait that guy and go over top and hit the guy that was left free....I'm sure that is in the memory bank and I guarantee you next time we will show/run that play early in a game and the second time we run it will bait that DB and burn them. That was in no way a poor throw, or bad read...The DB just made a great play...something they are paid to do too....it just so happened that it made LAPO turtle like usual and we became ultra conservative and predictable...does same thing with Nichols

oh I agree Hall ran some dumb schemes...no doubting that, that being said we should have never let up on offence and kept doing what we were doing and the Montreal offence would hardly have been on the field and would have been having to come back from way more than 20. Gaitor tho had a bad game..was getting owned bigtime and Hall not seeing that and like you mentioned changing his blitz, or even abandoning it would have helped for sure, that or changing coverages and having the DB's jam at the L.O.S would have helped too

the smart decision is to yes...run the ball to kill out the clock...but maybe run something with some variation...or use someone else to cross up the defense, run a play the defense hasn't seen yet, it's pretty easy concept but we seem to never get it right. Christ you have a horse in Streveler they should have ran back to back QB sweeps to the wide side...slide protection and all receivers out front blocking or pulling defenders away...long developing runs that would take off time on the clock if anything. Streveler in space...coming around the end in full gallop...blockers out front...do you not think he wouldn't have gotten at least 1 first down doing that??..obviously Lapo in his wisdom didn't because he ran two pansy plays which netted lost yards I believe and took what...12 seconds off the clock

Well when one team adjusts (Mtl) and the other does the same things with no adjustments/counter or use of what worked to set other things up (Wpg) then totally abandons it all together for whatever reason with what looked like no real game plan whatsoever and play to sit on a lead and not commit any errors...well you see the result...again This is modus oparandi with Lapo...always has been. Even a team spying Streveler would have been easily exploited and we just don't seem to make the in-game adjustment to counter anything. They should have a scenario already in place that if thats what they are doing, or spying Harris and it is easily flushed out by putting Harris in motion, or moving him outside the box...then you use your guy (WHITEHEAD) who would exploit teams in that scenario where he slides in and runs constant quicj=k bang routes or slants with him in that open space..but nope...we do nothing of the sort This team..especially on offence always shuts it down when they have a nice lead and then when they need to turn it back on...they cant...and thats how football works with momentum..if we had an O.C with a set of onions on him at worst we would be 12-1 right now...I hang 3 of those 4 losses squarely on him...not on Hall or the defense...

should be a nice intense game...can't wait...I bet Harris goes over 100 yards as well....

Yeah talking crap in media...and spewwing garbage usually doesn't end well...Bowman saying he wonders if all his work and awards should be questioned cause he may have been juicing is funny as he must have missed the othe 8 or so clean tests provided over his career...random tests where you don't kow they are being administerd...the doofus And circumventing the SMS is not cheating MR Bowman??...any player on that team would have known it wasn't within rules but that doesn't seem to bother him...perhaps all involved in that should be handed multi game suspensions? Yeah we may dress all the O-lineman....and could also see us scratching the Import Jones and just going with National Jones, Exume and Hallett as DB back-ups...which we have done often this year so we can rotate the 3 of Whitehead, Bailey and Lawler. I think Whitehead has been hampered the last few games with some kind of leg injury, so I expect to see him be fairly prominent in the offence tomorrow, along with Bailey
