  1. Looks way worse in that slow motion..he was going up to bat the ball down...and yeah he let up..just a standard football play u see countless times...nothing even close to what that schmuck Edward's did...he wasnt doing a normal football play by any stretch of the imagination..he was intending to do one thing..and he accomplished it You wanna iso random stuff watch Nac Henry game in and game out..that's a dirty piece of **** along the Cleon Lang mold...just has less talent than Lang
  2. Yeah...2 good non calls he chimed in..what an idiot
  3. True....but in that game to close out the 2nd quarter there was a series of plays, resulting in basically a 6 point swing where you could say the game was lost...and essentially was due to a ticky tack hold...and a non hold...around the 3:25 mark Streveler had a nice QB keeper...had us in field goal range but was called back for a hold on Gray. Now go watch it if you have it PVR'd..He was drive blocking..square on the DT basically with a pretty standard block you see all game..hands inside the shoulders...not off to the side...didn't pull guy anyway whatsoever..just continued his block and pushed the DT back...standard stuff...but took us out of range and we punted. Then on the Sask drive...around 2:25 or so when they missed that deep shot to Moore...you can hear "hold" being yelled...but no call....re-watch it...Biggie is blitzing...Right Tackle grabs him and basically tackles/pulls him to the ground..right in plain view of 2 officials...text book hold which is always called....but nope....would have pushed them back...made it 1st and 20 and good chance we make them punt before they stalled in FG range and got their 16th point..now how was that not called?...it was an edge play and not obstructed, and was a focal part of the play too as being a blitz hard not to watch that part of the line. The funny part was Doofus Suitor's narrative about that..and what went on as he commented on the hold being vocalized on the field. If's and's or but's be damned...that was a pretty critical series of events that played a major role in games out come
  4. he's running basically the same offence as Nichols was..nothing has changed at all scheme wise, or with formations...only difference is that there are more called QB run plays...and that offence with Nichols was the highest, or 2nd highest offensive points scored in the league..what..3 years running now....so this team has won..and can win without ST and or Defensive scores....cause if that was the case for wins..then all teams below us in points scored would never win unless they get the same scoring help...so thats not true whatsoever. If and when he gets more time and reps...gets comfortable with things..he will improve, as he really has including College only 3 years of QB experience total...not starter experience...but QB experience. I would think that once he gets more comfortable, and we get all our starters back playing....we should see some deviation from the norm, and things installed to suit some of his strong points...and if that doesn't happen, then thats a fail on the coaches....and if he doesn't progress like he should, then we move on, or he just continues as a nice change of pace guy/short yardage guy and a back-up who you can put in, and shouldn't hurt you. I have seen progression from his first start, to his second...the stats show that, but that's not the only progression I have noticed. He also started against Edm in his first game..arguably one of the top defenses in the league..at least front 7 wise for a QB, then in a game where historically we suck...is a tough environment to play and despite a few gaffs, hung in there and took the team down the field to go ahead when the game mattered..and put us up with about 3 minutes left in the game..and where we should have won if not for a defensive let down..so all things considered he did enough to win both his starts...and progressed from one start to the next. Lets see now with a home game...more work with the number one offence in practice, then a bye and a game in Mtl coming off the bye to truly assess if he is getting better, or a lost cause
  5. always go with the former player as opposed to a writer...no offence to Mr Tait Also a player who played mean and danced around the line of clean..mean and dirty...but was respected
  6. It's fine.. and not unusual for an OC to have his base..his bread and butter that he works with..and doesn't stray from..but also he needs to look beyond that, and adapt things within his base. We should be consistanltly running clear out routes to hit a guy like Lucky on quick slants or 5-7 yard crossers..and even have him and Demski run them on plays where they are not the primary to help influence the defense on other plays...and still be there and u know they are there for a quick way to combat and take advantage of a blitz..not the constant outlet hitch and flat pass hovering around the line of scrimmage..teams have seen that too much and have adapted.. and Lapo hasnt. In the case of Lucky that's all he sees now..and teams play to that and he's smothered...if he doesnt juke and jive and use his amazing skill he's stuffed for no gain..luckily he is as amazing as he is to still get 3 to 4 yards..he's being wasted and not used right..he needs plays where he is hit in motion.. and space beyond the L.O.S no LB or HB is gonna be able to be in his hip pocket and will be in trail position Also..USE the jet sweep..more than once a game..the repeated fake of it only works when u actually give it to the guy 2 to 3 times out of 5...its generally positive yards and ran more than one time a game has chance for big plays...you dont influence a defense much when you never deviate.
  7. Has that been said?
  8. Agreed...as said all along they ain't an impressive squad record even at 7-3 They now hit their tough portion of schedule even though they have bc and Toronto again..not a team to be worried about come playoffs I'm more concerned with Cgy and Edm come november
  9. Injury must be somewhat serious...or staff realized they good with Johnny..and know we have Oliviera as well at some point this year...when all healthy i wouldn't mind seeing sets with Johnny in backfield and Harris doing the hybrid RB/Slot thing..
  10. Inexperienced is the only real knock on Strev...he gets that..which he is..he will get better..he is highly intelligent so when he sees something..and has a screw up.. he learns...that has been his track record since college. I have seen progression already from the EDM game to the SSK game...probably 2 of the toughest first starts to be dropped into. He already has shown more poise in pocket from that first start..a few times he hung in..made a throw...also several times him being tough to bring down allowed him to get away and make plays..a couple with runs..one for sure I recal by passing... Also like mentioned.. he doesnt have 4 years of college QB experience to draw off..basically his first year at SDSU he did alright but was raw..year 2...showed big time progression and lit it up..and was very adept and accurate with his mid to intermediate throws..I see this trend happening here too as he gets more games in..patience is order of the day and luckily we can have a bit as our record.. for now allows that
  11. just listening to Rod Penison on 1290 right now...what an utter and pathetic dumbass...see he has his Rider goggles on again..the tripe that flies out his piehole is laughable at best
  12. i dunno about that...even after this weekend we still lead the league in offensive TD's scored with 29 (tied with Ham) and are again tied with HAM for total TD's with 35...tells me that our offence scores TD's just fine...does it not?? and based on offensive points scored (280) and games played (11) thats 25.5 offensive points scored per game...no?
  13. pretty much all they run...purely because of that craptacular oline...they like to trumpet "we have less sack"....but anyone with any football I.Q knows that doesn't mean much in the grand scheme...certainly not an indicator of being best line...when we grade lines we look at time from snap..to time ball is out of QB''s hand...what play was...what defense ran...etc..etc...and I bet the Rider QB holds the ball the least in the entire league..again...to cover for weak oline play...
  14. haha...C.D looks like a cowardly lil wuss..hahaha...with that dumb "huh?" look on his face...too funny
  15. whers the GIF...I didnt notice this happening
  16. Thing is you don't need a model...maybe early Reilly but with that skillset...you utilize it...having him static in the pocket is a waste...you move him around...have him do things on the run, and in diffeent launch points....his run threat will open open the passing for him...as of right now, we aren't allowing that..we basically have him working between the tackles and the runs he does get, or when he has to take off, he is doing it through traffic...getting yards...but tough ones. If he's play actioning and getting outside he holds the guys in the box for that crucial split second or two...and has room to navigate...and it' becomes a pick your poison for the DB's and or sam..stay back...he runs...close in..tosses over their heads...and as Geebr said...following this script at first...and varying i the pocket..out of the pocket will eventually transform him into a guy with pocket presence...
  17. he needs time..and reps...and the "right" coaching and system geared toward him... based on scouting reviews Streveler is darn mobile and a dangerous runner... very effective on QB draws, boots and picking up chunky gains from a broken pocket... not a creative runner, but very effective... rushed for over 1500 yards and scored 20 ground TDs combined last 2 seasons... makes a terrific RPO pro prospect but needs quality NFL QB coaching... a good coach can create a winner here using that lightning release and athletic make-up. now obviously if Lapo is as good as people claim...he can do this, and create it....so far he seems to be struggling with this...Christ Streveler ripped off a 4.40 forty time at his pro day and to not use that on options..roll out plays and bootlegs to have defenses needing to either cave in on him...or stay back in coverage allowing big runs is baffling...keeping him within the hashes is just plain for a lack of a better word...dumb
  18. craig D should not even be a consideration from inheriting an already established team...it's Khari all the way...anything but would be an error by the voters
  19. always love a good de-cleating hahaha
  20. HEe needs reps and experience....he actually sits in pocket way better than last year already...and once he gets used to coverages..and reads...he will get even better...he gets antsy at times, but thats because he is seeing things a lot of times for first time...so isn't processing right away and is still thinking...he gets more time under center..the thinking will dissappear, and it will be reaction and instructive execution taking over..it takes time , and it's not as advanced as we would have liked to date, but it's also because he hasn't been allowed to do this until....now All his appearances up to last week he has been in on stupid gimmickey stuff, and limited play selection...what would you expect about his pocket awareness having no real work in the pocket to go through reads?
  21. I used to long snap...pre and post rule "augmentation" even before it was changed there was rarely a shot like that...guys just don't do it unless they are a dirty p.o.s....or are "influenced" from the sideline to try and get their team an advantage Adree on Oshea...some people say he was dirty..played outside the rules..etc..etc....but he was an oldschool player...played mean...played aggressive...but didn't do blatant dirty things..over..and over....every guy has taken liberties in their careers...it happens...but there are also outright intent to injure things that occur at times..and that is a different animal all together
  22. lay blame where it belongs...right at Lapo's feet...the game was lost in first quarter with his "i'm smarter than all and will trick everyone" schtick and pound Streveler (round peg) into a square hole (pocket passer) What that was all about was mind boggling...first 2 series...not even a hint of run..allow SASK to get momentum and pin ears back and stifle us...total crap You allow Strev to do what he does, and gradually massage in new wrinkles and do things from the pocket...thats when you outsmart people and catch them off guard..
  23. yeah the verbage is that...but the understanding league wise is that you let the guy get up and be in a protective stance...and most times teams don't even put a hit on that guy...hence a lot of times the center is downfield first..or used to be....that play was a blatant shot...with intent...now was it coached/suggested...who knows, but that team has a whack of dirty players, and that attitude rubs off on each other, so if anything it was a cheap shot by a cheap P.O.S...
  24. The thing is..Fatardo is their starter...and really not a good one....Collaros may have been coming into season by default as they had nobody else so had to sign him, that being said if he didn't get hurt...they are probably puttering along with 3 wins at most with him leading the charge..Fatardo caught fire in a bottle to start the season, but you slowly see him reverting to what he is..average at best and it will come very apparent next week when once again against a good defense..hostile territory with crowd noise hampering the offence..i bet they again score mayyybeee 1 TD...if that...they won kudos to them, but we pretty much make one less mental error, or one less uncharacteristic penalty...we win..if and buts...but it is what it is... And against good defenses...I tossed Mtl in there as well in 5 games he has thrown for 934 yards..(186) per game..1 td vs 4 picks...hardly awesome numbers by any stretch...good teams...they can't score with any consistency...in games not T.O...OTT...BC they have score 17...19...17..24...10...if that doesn't say anything about their "prowess" or lack there of against quality teams...not sure what does then
