Was he at La Roca last night?- 2024/2025 Blue Bombers Off-Season Thread
Maybe it's selective memory but I always feel like we punt near midfield and somehow the opposition ends up getting it on their own 45ish rather then deeper in their own end. I can't actually remember seeing a Sheehan punt and thinking "wow that was a good deep punt".- 2024/2025 Blue Bombers Off-Season Thread

100% I thought we would of replaced the punter last season and that didn't happen.... nothing is 100% with O'Shea...- 3 stars plus hh preseason kick off (of fg kicks)

Crap I missed the game because for some reason I thought it was the night game... can someone do an odds/sods once it's done with a recap?- 2024/2025 CFL (non-Bomber) Off-Season Thread
Thank god, it really ruined the experience watching on tv. I couldn't imagine how annoying it would be in person.- 2024/2025 Blue Bombers Off-Season Thread
How does these guys develop and get real game time sitting on the PR or playing 3rd string. I would of rather they play out the contract this year and if he returns to form then pay him big at the end of the season. I'm anticipating that next year these boards will be pissed that they gave away a large chunk of money to a broken QB who is no longer worth the money.- Restaurant/food thread
I think so, I've never been but my co workers have all enjoyed it and recommended it. Do you have a food truck? I had met a guy back in the day who would do all the festivals/carnivals in Manitoba during the Summer and then would drive around the State fairs and whatever in the warmer States during Winter and he would make a killing. It was a fry truck with I think hot dogs and he lived in a mansion and had lots of big toys.- Restaurant/food thread
With the carnival idea , I think maybe Dreamland Diner might be the only one who is close to doing it? I know around the McPhillips area they have a funky corndog place which I have not tried yet. I'd stick with food trucks over a restaurant, I've known a few people who have opened up restaurants and it's high risk/stress, money pit, and a lot of work to keep afloat. The costs really add up quickly and the post Christmas slump kills a lot of places. At least with the food trucks you can drive in to where the customers are and during the winter months I'm assuming you would be in the States running the circuit. In an over saturated market like Winnipeg it makes things much more difficult. If I were to do a restaurant in Winnipeg I'd 100% buy into an existing franchise, it's far more safe.- Restaurant/food thread
We checked out Watt Bistro Pho (the newish location on Plessis and Regent) the other day and tried the vermicelli pork + spring rolls and also the Pho. Both were large in size and fresh and had a lot of flavour. We will be going back since Phuong Nam (our regular spot) is a bit of a drive and this is much closer. I believe they also do bubble tea. I'd recommend for those in the area.- Restaurant/food thread
What are you talking about? In that immediate area the only fast food burger places they have are: McDonalds, Burger King, Nuburger, Fatburger, Burger Factory, Wayback Burger, Georges, A&W, Sals, Five Guys, and I'm probably missing a few more... My kids enjoyed the frozen custard at Culvers in the States, though they could barely tell the difference between eating that and getting soft ice cream anywhere else. I don't think it's enough of a differentiator that will make it stand out. The location also isn't the greatest, the few times that I've gone to Firehouse subs, the Boutans and Mucho Burrito which are next door have been completely dead.- 2024/2025 Blue Bombers Off-Season Thread
At this point Wilson is one minor injury away from me wanting to cut him loose and try someone else who isn't falling apart. I'm less concerned about safety/corner since we have seemed to have done a good job over the last 5+ years of finding guys who can jump in and play well right away.- 2024/2025 CFL (non-Bomber) Off-Season Thread
I understand loyalty and giving your vets the benefit of the doubt etc... etc... I can understand this with your star players who may need to work out of a slump or coming off injury issues. I can somewhat comprehend guys who have shown flashes. I do not understand the loyalty for the mediocre players who have never shown that they can even come close to being considered an above average or really good player.- 2024/2025 CFL (non-Bomber) Off-Season Thread
I was told on these boards 1000 times that Wally Buono could do no wrong because he would cut a declining vet before his expired date.- 2024/2025 CFL (non-Bomber) Off-Season Thread
It would be interesting to know what determines playing one guy over another from the mind of O'Shea. I can understand character issues if you have self destructive guy who can be a cancer for a locker room for which his athletic / gameday ability is great but the overall value afterwards isn't worth it. I can't imagine over the last many years that we brought in guys who fit that negative criteria for which we dress a Navy Seal with D- level skills over numerous players who clearly have a much better upside.- The TV Thread
I watched it last night and thought the documentary was underwhelming and all over the place. The timelines kept bouncing around, the director kept flip flopping between comedy and serious tones, and they didn't dig deep on who he is (was) and basically allowed this guy to put on a show to satisfy his narcissitic needs. It was weird that they only had his ex wife on for a few minutes when she would of been best able to explain what his true personality is like. She had one line about him being conniving and a liar. They should of expanded and provide examples of where in public he was a friendly funny guy, but behind closed doors he was a bad guy. They had a few of his old co workers, but most of the people on the doc were Red River students who barely knew him. Does he have a drug problem? He alluded to it? What about his affair with a student for ten years? How did his wife and him end up so broke so quickly? What is he doing today? He seems to be working at a bar/restaurant? What did he use the money for his robberies? How does he own a house now? So many questions left unanswered. Could of been much better.- Random News Items

Wow I feel old... 25 years on TSN and I can still vividly remember him as a player. Losing him is definitely the biggest hit on an already iffy panel. I would cut Kate, Milt, Barker, Muamba and find anyone with a slight bit of personality plus football knowledge. Once BLM retires from playing he'd make a good addition. He was far more engaging then the few times they had a doofus like Henry Burris on air. As much as everyone hates Suitor, he is good when calling a non Riders game. The newer PBP guys are both doing better as time goes on and outside of Marshall having an accent on a few words he's really good. Sanchez comes off unlikeable but his football knowledge that he provides is light years better then Milt who states the obvious and offers very little insight. I'm hoping that LaPolice is on tv far more if Matty is really gone.- The 2025 Grim Reaper Thread
