I describe it accurately, if I am incorrect in any of my statements please point it out. The original post was showing that Winnipeg is the least desirable place for NHL'ers wanting to be traded. Explain why that is? Saying all players are ignorant is not a real answer as each of these players have visited the city multiple times and many of the players are Canadian and are aware of Winnipeg. A toddler would be a person closing their eyes and covering their ears because they don't like hearing the truth.

But Vegas is an option so why would I exclude it? I did say Buffalo is a complete dump, however it is warmer and is closer to more desirable destinations. I'd say Edmonton would be the only place that may be inferior to Winnipeg, I have not been in many years but since my last visit it has grown consdierably and is a much larger city then Winnipeg so maybe it has more options? Places like Chicago and Minnesota are significantly better, while they do have really bad areas, they have equally as many beautiful areas with plenty to do. We are going to Chicago again this upcoming summer and I have to trim out many destinations for our family to go because the amount of options of fun things to do is staggering. What does Trump have to do with anything? Describe Winnipeg downtown then in your own words? Why would I cheer for Vegas, I'm pointing out that young people dont' want to play hockey in Winnipeg. The NUMBERS back that up, give me a reason why they aren't playing here if it's not for the city being a dump. Truth hurts.

Their is nothing to experience though that is the problem. It's not gross its' the truth. EVERYONE who lives in Winnipeg is well aware of how gross downtown is and after 5:00 pm the place is a ghost town. It was a ghost town pre-COVID... now post COVID it's even more so. Even during the day it's very quiet as many people are working from home now, lots of businesses have closed and the amount of "for lease" signs on the main strip is staggering. Talk to anyone who has to use a bus and travel to downtown during off hours and you will get smacked in the face with the reality of the situation. The issue has spread and even going to the Forks these days is dangerous. See numerous stabbings in broad daylight and a few shootings to boot. The place is a crap hole and the undesirables isn't only located in a "ghetto", it's infected the full downtown area and more. TLDR: The numbers do not lie... MANY years in a row hockey players do not want to move here. It's because the city is a dump and has nothing to offer young wealthy people. I'm sure if Regina had a team they would be neck and neck with us on being last on the list. To say the players are ignorant is stupid, many players are Canadian and are well aware of what Winnipeg is like.

A little ignorant to think that others would want to live in Winnipeg just because you have rose colored tinted glasses of your memories of Winnipeg. Winnipeg attracts refugees, immigrants, and low to middle class income folks who want to raise families in a place that is affordable. Educated young adults leave Winnipeg in droves so this isn't exactly a place that a 20 something year old millionaire would want to live. It is freezing cold during hockey season, night life is extremely poor, downtown is a complete desolate zombie wasteland, their is nothing to do or nowhere to go in Winter. Their isn't a conspiracy on why players don't want to go to Winnipeg. It's a complete $hithole. I don't blame the players, would you rather play in Vegas where you have thousands of options and nice weather or do you want to go to Winnipeg where you can't walk outside at night (weather/extreme crime) and visit Earls for the 100th time since downtown has nothing else to offer. It will always be a challenge to attract players , they just have to pick and choose ones that want that docile stay inside all of the time life.

I've kept traction bars in my trunk my whole life and numerous times I've helped people getting unstuck from the snow. The fold up ones take very little space and are super handy.

We lost a star receiver, a star Db... and a whole bunch of mediocre players. I don't see how it's the end of the world? Also in free agency what team has ever won the cup based on a plethora of off season free agency signings? For the last many years I can only remember everyone on here mocking Edmonton and Saskatchewan and Hamilton for continously over paying for free agents only for them to wash out by mid season.

Lawler leaving.. it's not the end of the world. Look what happened last time he left... we found a young and better replacement. I'd much rather we drop $275 000 on a star LB'er or a guy on the d-line. As said many many many times over the years.... receivers and running backs are the easiest positions to fill. Not worried at all that he left. Hogan ... that is a head scratcher. I guess he comes cheap? I don't know why they wouldn't have Jarious as the OC and let Hogan be an assistant or something for a few years. Not a great move IMO. So when are we signing a star punter?

Who would be crazy enough to visit NK? My friend was given over a grand for his one day delay... it is in the small print somewhere where they list out prices on what they compensate.

We can't sign every single free agent in the league can we? Did each of the other teams in the league complain that they can't attract free agents after we signed all of our star players over the last many years?

Mike is right, why do people every season seemingly are confused that certain teams can have more money to spend then others during the off season. It's almost like Edmonton is trying to rotate out their roster and bring in fresh faces and remove old faces and start anew. While a team like Winnipeg only has to fill in a smaller amount of holes so naturally they won't have as many signings. It still doesn't change the fact that Winnipeg still has the same amount of players signed and probably just as many high priced veterans who are making higher then minimum amount of salary.

Is what I read true about Laine getting benched? I have not followed the NHL closely this year, but I thought he was having a "great season" in Montreal?

I've had two different sets of friends who had similar stories with West Jet within the last month. Not sure what is wrong with them , Air Canada isn't much better either.

When he's featured and on.. Demski is a #1 .... it just feels like he disappears and I'm not sure if it is him... the game plan.... or if it is Zach. The designed plays where Demski runs a deep post seems to always work... outside of his few ill time fumbles he seems to make plays when the balls goes his way.

Kramdi "appears" to be getting better even if it is at a slower pace. He doesn't look completely lost or over matched when he is on the field. Jake Thomas on the other hand..... that's an easy guy to rag on because his ceiling is low and it only is going to get worse.

Are you using a Windows desktop/laptop, Google Chrome browser, Google search, Amazon, IPhone, Facebook, Uber, Paypal, nearly all Oil companies....... if so then you support companies that have supported and gave money to Trump and are crazed Nazi's as you would put it. Have you ever purchased any product that originates from China where they source and also employ terrible slave labour conditions? This is only scratching the very basic surfaces of many many more companies that are associated to "bad things". I'm certain you can live your life avoiding all of this and find your alternatives elsewhere. With a take like you have... this is exactly why your internet history and social media experience is full of whack job takes.

You know the algorithm is based on your searches and internet history. So if you are seeing that kind of things then its based on what you look at. The only place that is dedicated for those kind of people is kiwi farms. X is pretty good because you can easily block and see only the types of things that you want to see. When I'm on X/Twitter I only see video games and cat memes and nothing else at all.

Random Hockey News - non NHL/AHL
I will say teachers these days have absolutely zero power or authority on doing anything with any kids at all ages of schooling. For example when our autistic daughter was in Grade 1, she didn't want to go back inside after recess and decided to go for a walk down the street. The teachers would not hold her hand to re-direct her back to the school, they had to only use words (which didn't work). She was non violent and was simply curious , but even after saying we give you permission to grab her hand and to redirect her back they refused to do it because they are not allowed to have any physical contact with any children. Another story I heard from a co-worker, their was a kid in her sons Jr High who was violent had sucker punched and then beat up a boy for no reason at all to a point where the victim was knocked out. The reason was because he was mad and somehow that kid "triggered him". The parents demanded that the bully be expelled from the school because her son feared for his life. The end result was the school justifying the "bully" because his parents self diagnosed the kid with IED and that he can't help that he wants to express his anger by attacking other kids. The school suggested the victim to relocate to a new school! I have family and a few friends who are teachers and apparently in the last 5 years or so the kids all across the town (and even outside) are absolutely terrible and basically it's like the early parts of Kindergarten Cop before Detective Jon Kimble whips the kids into shape. The inmates run the asylum and the teachers have zero mechanisms or authority to control the kids. Also ALOT of terrible parents who either don't care or refuse to accept that they have a rotten child.
