Hard Analysis: Is this THE year?
Nichols seems to elevate his play to the skill of the players around him, and has shown a real consistency to his game. I'm also a big fan of his accuracy decision making. He's not a guy that's going to get a lot of hype, but he'll win you football games.

Wow were they ever pumping his tires when he was with BC. It was getting sickening.

Hard Analysis: Is this THE year?
Question marks include defensive line and MLB. Think we addressed the line. We're hoping that Knox can take the MLB spot. The rest of the team I'm not seeing any holes. If Knox pans out I think we have a real good shot.

Bombers Off-Season Transactions
Don't think they're overly concerned about the 5th receiver. JFG will be fine and if we're lucky then Richards will step up

CFL Draft
I like our picks when you consider the state of our roster right now. OL - We have couture and Neufeld who are currently not even starting on our oline, do we have any room for someone to start this year? Nope. So we go and get Gray who will be a next year guy at best but CFL ready. Then Spooner who will likely need some time to develop. WR - We only start 1 and are looking to continue doing so. So we got 2 guys that can push for a backup spot RB - not a whole lot worth drafting here. If Andrew Harris goes down we could very well think about starting 3 Canadians on the o-line. DL - Clearly an area of need so we went and got the #1 guy. Don't see a problem here. LB - We are pretty stacked here. Will be interesting to see how our roster fills out. Some good players could be surprising cuts DB - Loffler is clearly the man and we have a couple other good athletes here. Don't mind going after another good athlete in Conteh in a position traditionally held by Americans anyway. Teams - Added another good piece here in Mike Miller this offseason. Between our Lbs and DBs we have a lot of guys that can run on ST. Appreciate that Walters identified our need for a punter. This could be the most important pick for the coming season.

We added a Thera-Plamondo to go with our Feoli-Gudino

Think we'd be getting away with highway robbery with those results.

CFL Draft
I don't think the Bombers will draft for position and pick a receiver. If they feel like a receiver is the best player available, then they will.

Bombers Off-Season Transactions
Not a bad thing but there's an obvious disconnect between the media department of the Bombers and the day-to-day operations as Ed Tait gives Alex Chisum the editorial kiss of death.

Which is probably why he jumped ship to begin with.

I know it's a knee-jerk reaction but if Bryan Bennett ends up being the next great CFL QB I am going to be pissed.

Ryan Smith to retire
Might be a blessing in disguise if true. I was hoping he would come back and earn every bit of his salary (he showed well down the stretch)...but we have an assortment of riches at the receiver position, even without him. Not to mention that we're starting to find our own import players more often as our scouting database continues to improve. I wonder if the Bombers knew about this when they went hard at Denny?

200 Level: Is the Music Too Loud?
We have managed to get to the first row (at the rail) of the upper section of the upper deck on the 40ish yard line. Great seats!

200 Level: Is the Music Too Loud?
That's fair. The "West Side Sucks" thing is just a jab. Though I still think that as a whole there are cultural differences (less so in the new stadium) between the two sides and it becomes a matter of preference. The move to the West side was mostly predicated on the lack of sun and a new son that we could eventually bring to the game. But he's only 15 months old. He has a ways to go before we bring him there, I think...

200 Level: Is the Music Too Loud?
Oof. Struck a nerve did I? Guess years of chanting will wear on a guy. In all seriousness though, I was turned off at the amount of negativity and whining in our section last year. You have a bunch of jaded long-time fans that for whatever reason still think the players can see the field like a game of Madden. That is not the kind of atmosphere that I find enjoyable. As much as I respect an educated fan, leave the negativity at home please!

HOF Inductees
Congrats Mike! A coach/man we can be proud of. Hopefully one day he'll be worthy of being inducted as a coach too!

200 Level: Is the Music Too Loud?
There's been moments where they've mistakenly had the music a little too loud for the situation that has been unpleasant. But overall I'd say no. On a somewhat related note: we had season tickets on the west side last year for the first time in my 12 years of season tickets. It does, indeed, suck. And we'll be moving back. Luckily we got the exact same seats on the east side!

Free Agency Frenzy
I'm starting to think we will be rotating our Canadians into our linebacking core more often this year. Signing Nevis gives us a run stopping force in the middle of our d-line, and while I expect to see Thomas rotating in quite a bit, I think our base package will have another American DT beside him. Losing Burnett and our roster clearly points to using more Canadians at linebacker. All that said, we always knew we would be rotating our NIs around on defense.

Adjusting Rules for 2017
I'm just wondering if the CFL can handle its ADD enough to be able to keep the same rules for 2 consecutive years.

League-Wide All-Stars Announced
If there were more fancy stats in football, Randle would definitely be in the conversation. Edit: And Leggett would be a no brainer.

League-Wide All-Stars Announced
I think a lot of people would argue Leggett should be on here.

CFL Free Agents/Coaches
I think Coombs understands his versatility and how that can lead to being on the field quite a bit. If he ends up being the best NI receiver on our roster, then that's his starting position, backing up at RB for Harris. He's also a Winnipeg boy, which may or may not make being here a plus for him.
