  1. It's going to be a tough road. Against the Stamps it's hard to rely on your defense all game, so I'm hoping that with the addition of Collaros and having some designed runs for Streveler we can do enough on offense to pull this one out. It really seems that these two teams match up quite well against each other and that a few plays separate them. It could be a special teams play that decides this game. The Roughriders are not as good as Calgary but they'll be almost as tough an opponent playing within the confines of Mosaic. If our defense plays well, we can generally hold Sask to few points. They've only had mild success offensively against us all year: Final drive of the Labour Day classic, and some crazy fortunate plays that ended up in the hands of Shaq Evans (he is a good receiver though). On offense it is key to limit turnovers. Putting up 20+ points probably wins this one. Hamilton...the only thing that makes me think they won't win the Grey Cup is if Dane Evans has a true rookie moment out there. But who knows.
  2. But he was under contract? So at the very least the team had to either be sympathetic, or agree that he should leave.
  3. Okay yeah I was just wondering if there was some rule you were referring to that you can't PR a vet. But you really can't PR anyone without their permission.
  4. Can't he be PR'd much like anyone could be PR'd? (ie. they'd have to accept being put on the PR, otherwise they are released)
  5. Has anyone heard anything new about Oliveira? I thought he was getting closer to a return. Or have they shut him down?
  6. Yes that is clear indication. SMH. Not going to argue whether he is actually good at reading the field and passing the ball (he seems like he's always getting better). But wasn't the play selection fairly similar with Nichols? I seem to recall a lot of running the football. It's not Streveler's fault that he gives us another option running the ball.
  7. For me, when we play Calgary, they are Eric Rogers. It usually comes down to how much we can limit him.
  8. Well if you can't see the difference between Ottawa and Edmonton at the start of the season VS now I'm not sure what to tell you. BC is a better team now but without Reilly they aren't.
  9. Yes BC has been bad all year. Losing Reilly may not have changed the outcome (you'll never know) but it certainly makes it exponentially easier. Every team is going to play more or less the same teams but when we were playing BC, Edmonton, and Ottawa they still had something to play for. Edmonton and Ottawa were even considered good teams when we played them. So I don't think it's the same thing at all.
  10. Are you sure about that? I seem to recall a 3 way tie we were in that we ended up on the bottom despite having the season series against one of the 2 teams
  11. It can never be 100 percent fair based on the structure of the league. Every year is different. A team could get an easier schedule every year. Look at the east haha
  12. This has a lot to do with it Imo. Every year a team gets a softer schedule based on uncontrollable circumstances. Edmonton was a good team in the first part of the season. Now not so much. Riders now get them twice.
  13. We handled Montreal fairly well. Just like we should have handled them in the first game but decided to not cover their receivers in the 2nd half. With our defense on the same page we made Adams look average. The only team that actually scares me at all is Hamilton. They will probably win the Grey Cup, if I had to guess. But I'd put our team right up there. When we're playing our best we are better than Sask and Calgary. But unfortunately with losing our starting qb, losing our starting RB and going into a mini slump, and taking the pedal off against some not so great teams, we likely won't have home field advantage throughout the playoffs. And in football that is huge. Im just hoping that with our run game and defense forcing turnovers we can get it done in the playoffs.

    Amazing
  15. Imo this was the only somewhat useful trade they could have made and it only cost has moving down 2 rounds to do it

Oline was mostly fine this game. Yeah couture blew that play. But if I had to single out a position group tonight it would not be them

The improvement of having Alexander playing safety will be bigger than the falloff of having Thomas play DT. That guy has never let us down
  18. If we want any hope of first place it starts Saturday.
  19. I think the only guy I wouldn't want it to be is MBT. To me he looks like he reads defenses about as well as Streveler. Could kind of see it being Collaros as he might be able to pick up a system faster than the other 2.
  20. Rasheed Bailey looked good but the team refuses to play him.
  21. Lawler seemed good
  22. The play I was talking about the throw was definitely available. But I get what you're saying about many of the plays
  23. Have to admit Demski was wide open on the sideline when Strev threw that into coverage. But it seems like a comedy of non-play makers on offense.

4 losses this year. 3 against the east. 2 where we had substantial leads so those ones really stung (obviously). 1 against the Riders where our backup QB hadn't gotten into his groove yet. But all of our losses were away games. We haven't lost a home game yet. We forget momentarily after these kind of losses that we are still a good team. Just for whatever reason we aren't consistently a good team on the road. It becomes paramount that we win the rest of our home games. Not going to be easy but it shouldn't be. We seem to shut it down when it's easy and rise up when it's not. Big win coming up next week

Those are words. No doubt. That's all I have though.
