Neal's an unlikable guy. Rumour was he got traded by the Pens b/c he wasn't very popular. I follow a few Pitt reporters on twitter and they said he treated the training/locker room staff like crap, which is a no-no in hockey.

Is everybody being racist again? The highest profile player on a team is always going to take the most heat when things aren't going well. It's like that in most cities. Obviously it's not always fair, but a lot of sports fans are idiots.

So far in this thread I've learned the following about Ladd: 1. It's clearly him that Wheeler called out. 2. He's is a ***** b/c he can't play through getting a puck in the face. 3. He's feuding with Wheeler & Little. 4. He's a terrible role model for the rookies. Anybody else have any insider information on how terrible a player/person Ladd is? I think we've pretty clearly found our scapegoat for this season.

Islanders haven't been nearly as good as most people thought they would be. Tavares is way under-performing, which I guess should have been expected after I took him with my 1st pick in fantasy.

Hovering around a playoff spot with the lowest payroll in the league and one of the youngest team's is cause for optimism. Bringing Helle up and his play to date has been the biggest bright spot. He's playing up to his hype and having a legit #1 goalie is huge. Our defensive play and lack of discipline have been the biggest disappointments. What we do with Buff & Ladd are obviously the biggest questions going forward.

Ladd was in front when Myers broke his stick. A big shot from the point is nice, but the guy taking it has to be able to get it off quickly and know where it's going. Buff's shot is sufficiently heavy for the pp, and all of Buff, Trouba, Myers, & Enstrom have much better offensive insticts. I'll take 5 of 10. Beating Nashville makes the trip a win imo.
