Around The League: 2018 Offseason
I like ditching the "force out" rule. Imo it's a good defensive play to push a guy out of bounds before he can get a foot down.

Seems like Montreal must be coming in low too if he's still not signed.

A great name and an amazing hit in his youtube video.

Canadian Politics
Good grief man. You only have to go back to the last Liberal gov't to see how this is wrong.

Mulroney added over $300B to the national debt. Chretien and Martin did a good job cleaning up his mess and have a better fiscal record than anybody in recent history.

Canadian Politics
Agreed. The far right members in the Conservative party really hurt them.

I consider the Liberals more centrist than left, although the current gov't has moved them further left than they were under Chretien/Martin.

Game 71 : Green River @ Red River
I loved Stu, so it's high praise coming from me. Guy played a lot of hard minutes over 12 seasons. I'll take a guy like that on my team anytime.

Game 71 : Green River @ Red River
I love Chiarot's physical game. He's a more talented Stu.
-
Game 70 : Centennial Concert Hall @ Centennial Park
Good effort, given everything the Jets had going against them. I love the way we forecheck. So much speed...

Bomber Moves 2018
Based on Walters' prior comments about having to make other moves if Muamba is signed , that cap space isn't currently unused.

Game 67 : Grand Beach @ Jersey Shore
There aren't many...Bossy, Hull, Ovie, maybe Stamkos. Not sure who else.

Game 67 : Grand Beach @ Jersey Shore
He's like a bigger Brett Hull.

https://www.si.com/vault/1997/04/14/8113107/no-regrets-mario-lemieux-has-decided-to-end-his-brilliant-nhl-career-and-for-himbut-not-for-the-penguinshis-retirement-is-coming-not-a-moment-too-soon "With fewer penalties being called, scoring is down league wide this season, and shutouts are up. The number of power-play goals has dropped 26% since last season, from 1.81 per game to 1.34. "Goaltenders are certainly better than in the past," Lemieux says. "The coaching is better too. Now even bad teams have [defensive] systems. If the refereeing was different, the systems would still work, but not as well. In basketball, teams that don't have talent don't win. Hockey is different. The NHL allows lesser players to get away with things. It's a good time for me to get away, because if the league expands again, the problem will just get worse. There will be more and more unskilled players." And one less magically skilled player. When Lemieux is asked if he would reconsider retirement if the NHL assured him that next season the refs would enforce the rules as written, he shakes his head and smiles ruefully. "They've fooled me once," he says. "They're not going to fool me twice."

Is he really playing at a discount price? Who offered him more? BC certainly wasn't willing to pay what we did.

UFC
Ngannou is the only one of the three you mentioned that I think he has a chance against. The other two guys can wrestle and are still very good strikers. Ngannou has the most power of the three, but is also the least technical and can't wrestle.

This is true. First couple seasons I could sell my season tickets at walk-up price. That doesn't fly anymore.

Bomber Moves 2018
It would have to be a pretty crazy salary for it to blow up the nucleus of the team.

Around the NHL 2017/2018
Gretzky was at 41 goals in game 37 the year he got 50 goals in 39 games. It's too bad we don't have that level of scoring in today's game. I think most of the scoring records are out of reach, unless something drastic happens in the game.

Serious question; have you seen any articles that called this trip a success? Anything I've seen has called the trip a disaster. Trudeau made me think of Michael in Arrested Development when he posed for pictures using the namaste hand gesture.

Game 63 : Rinne @ Hellebuyck
On a positive note, the first pp unit looks scary good. I also liked how physical Chiarot played. Imo that's what he needs to do to be effective when he's in the lineup.

Game 63 : Rinne @ Hellebuyck
Agreed on the top two lines. Scheifele's line was brutal on the shift that gave up the winning goal. Felt bad for Roslovic on the Preds 4th (I think) goal. He was in good position, but looked back to see where the dman was at the exact same time the pass was made to the guy in front of him.

Those guys have probably played better than Murray has this year.

Bomber Moves 2018
Two weeks ago you were going to set up a kickstarter and advocating for us taking a cap penalty to make sure we got him. Now he's not worth buying dinner for?
