That's funny... cuz I asked Bauming about him and Gibson on twitter and Bauming said neither were back at practice... I guess he wasn't paying too much attention... then again, I guess they could both be right... maybe Johnson is back in town but didn't practice today... O'Shea said he was practicing. I thought it was Penton who asked when Johnson would be back, but given what you're saying, it might have been Bauming. O'Shea laughed at him and said he must have been asleep during practice.

Just finished watching O'Shea's interview. He said Johnson was back at practice today.

Penton just said that Brown has chronic calf problems, which probably led to his release.

They're not really related moves. They're fighting for different spots.

Tuenei just seems like a victim of very good competition. It's nice in a way that players who sound like they've been very good in camp have to be cut. I'm surprised about Brown as well. The team seems very high on both Johnson & Gibson. Hopefully they both come back...

why do you get 2 points on a safety? Why 3 when you kick the ball through the uprights? Why 6 when you advance the ball into the endzone? Because it's in the rules that's why. You shouldn't get a point for missing a field goal, but yes a rule is a rule. It's not a point for missing a field goal, it a point for kicking a ball into the endzone and preventing the other team from returning it out of the endzone. A prize for mitigating your failure to kick the fg. I can buy the idea of the point being incentive to make a return, but they should take away the point for having the ball roll through the endzone. Why is there a point for kicking through the endzone on a punt or fg attempt, but not for a kickoff? Weird...

If that's all there is to this, this is a pretty uninspired story. A 3rd stringer wants a chance for more playing time? Scandalous...

It sounded like Rodney Lamar had himself a good game. As a mlb, he's probably fighting for a pr spot. I can't see us DI'ing a lb with so many good Canadians there, and I don't think he'll get the starting job over Hurl. I think we can probably pencil in Marshall as one of our two rbs on the 44. Anderson vs. Cotton will be interesting to watch for the rest of camp and the next preseason game. Cotton's ball security issues need to be fixed. Randle sounded terrible in the return game and did nothing running the ball. Couple that with being hurt for part of camp and he's probably behind those two guys now. Marve doesn't look pretty out there, but he still seems to be able to put points on the board. Brohm got us in scoring position three times, but needs to get it in the endzone. Based on last night I wouldn't change the qb depth chart. Pleasantly surprised last night wasn't a series of crushing sacks on our qbs. Sounded like our backups on the OL acquitted themselves pretty well.

Agreed. Good decision to leave the vets behind to allow these guys max opportunities to show what they've got.

Mattt Beleskey will be this offseason's Bryan Bickell. He's going to turn one good season into a bad contract for whomever signs him.

In his presser, O'Shea noted Westerman, Derrell Johnson, Shaquille Richardson, Darvin Adams, Jhomo Gordon, & Chungh as news guys who have stood out so far. I've heard him single out Johnson once or twice before today. We might have something in this guy.
