  1. It's 1000% harder to pass protect for a scrambling QB in the context of blocking on 5-7 step drops where the scheme is to have the QB deep behind centre and you blocking flows from that idea. Now, in terms of overall blocking....with a running QB or a QB D's view as a run threat it is way easier to run block. There's more space. When Collaros is in the D isn't even counting him as a potential runner. Going to be a 180 with Streveler. A ton of stuff both run and pass you can run off this. And we should because Streveler isn't going to do 5 and 7 step drops and fire accurate lasers all over the place for 4 quarters. It should be way harder for the D to defend an offense with Streveler out there if we've schemed properly. They should be in a bind all night.
  2. They are basically all must wins now. If you played .500 the rest of the way you'd finish 7-11.
  3. I'd like to see Mitchell at receiver before Lawler is back. See if they use him at all tonight. If everyone stays healthy with Lawler back you probably can drop both those guys. Josh Johnson sticks around, Clercius basically becomes Wolitarsky and Wolitarsky becomes Schoen. I can't believe Wilson is still dressing. Think sooner than later we go 3 American OL, as in, I would have made this change already.
  4. Which is the easiest thing to defend if a guy can't run routes. You watch CFL games basically the entire game D are in some version of Cover 3. Hard to out run that. Gotta work intermediate. Lucky was a decent piece for BC in a stacked receiving corps. And even then they kept finding replacements, as we did in 2019. Lucky's most impactful role might be kickoff returner, but you don't want to be doing much of that anyway. He isn't a reliable punt returner.
  5. The unforgivable ones to me are Alexander and Kyrie Wilson. Easily could have turned those two into Grant and another CFL vet who is actually good. Not recognizing the need to inject some fresh blood in their CFL prime into that defense is nutty, particularly at rush end. WIL LB is not a spot you should ever spend money. That's an entry level position.
  6. If so let's hope Neufeld gets a few good games in before the piss testers come around.
  7. Streveler and Alford never played on the same team.
  8. Eli must have been questionable.
  9. Ouellette sucks something awful. Why aren't they using Hickson?
  10. Coxie doing his best Adarius Bowman 2010 impression.
  11. A lot of that set up by pass rush though. And Riders getting that mostly with 4 guys.
  12. Ouellette is basically useless as a runner.
  13. Coxie wants to be a #1 guy he's gotta catch the ball.
  14. "Low center of gravity" is Suitor's theme of the night.
  15. Reavis has a bad habit of leaving his feet on the blitz and also smacking the QB ducking under right across the helmet. Should be a flag every time.
  16. Dukes gets facemasked, hit in the head and tripped on one play. No flag. No challenge.
  17. Argos should challenge for tripping.
  18. Man Coxie needs to make some catches.
  19. Toronto's right guard and left tackle constantly struggling to get their hands on their block in pass pro. RG has slow feet too. Sask took a nap on the clock end of half here.
  20. Argos blocking each other on that drive.
  21. You see how playcallers don't help the young QB's once THEY get scared. Bunch up the routes, nothing vertical. So easy to defend. Gotta pretend to have some confidence in their arm at some point.
  22. Argos running screens so much the Riders DL starting to read it every time and crash it. Now run that look where the DL are given free run, set your feet and hit a guy going right down the seam.
  23. Their DL is killing your OL. Not seeing much blitz which they won't for the reason you mentioned...crowd the coverage rather than open up downfield by blitzing.
  24. Looks like they popped him on the depth chart instead of Eli for the game in Calgary. So that's it.
  25. You'll have to brush up on the rules before you ascend to Head Coach and GM.
