Ticats trade Steve Myddleton to Esks
Plus Edmonton traded a 4th rounder and a conditional pick for him. It's not like they picked him up off the street or for a 7th rounder.

Interesting Tweet
Meh, Hamilton almost won a game on us earlier this season on a punt return where Unamba got held egregiously right at the point the returner cut. The two blocks aren't illegal. The Kuale one is from the side and he drives through his block ending up behind the Rider. The last block is on a guy who makes himself stationary and looks for a flag, not going to get that call. The 2nd one is a 50-50 hold.

Max Hall arrested for shoplifting and cocaine possession
And if you do there's a pretty good chance of being found cold in the fetal position in a bathroom or bedroom somewhere. Pretty good chance of that injecting opiates even if he has "experience." Scary stuff.

Awful player. Lost his job to Landon Rice, another awful player with much less experience, which says a lot with how desperate Hamilton was for OL of any nationality at the start of this season. No better than Swiston or Hinse.

Chick got handled today. And had a couple hissy fits.

O'Shea hands away the LDC
Kuale's play is bad enough when he's not taking stupid offside penalties. Should be too embarrassed to even tweet. Unsurprisingly the dam burst in our run D again. Don't see how Kromah gets left off the roster for the rematch. Left a lot of points on the field starting on first drive. Riders O was a little more opportunistic. At least we can be proud of the effort and not embarrassed as usual.

Edmonton's Signature Jerseys
I'd be embarrassed to play slo-pitch in that t-shirt.

NFL update on players potentially of Bomber interest
Mike Kafka has been on our neg list previously. Hard to know if he is now. I believe we've had Armanti Edwards on our neg list too, not sure if we do now, but he was cut by the Bears. Probably would play RB/receiver, but was a college QB. GJ Kinne (Als), Tajh Boyd (Ticats) and Jeff Tuel (Lions) could be QB's headed north soon, Kinne especially.

I understand that. But how in the hell do you win football games like that? You can't. That's exactly the kind of stuff that led Lapolice from the sideline to TSN. At some point you have to trust your players to make a play, otherwise you're just resigned to losing while maybe keeping it close by being ultra conservative.

Roster Update
Not really. We gave up about 2 yards a carry without Kuale last week, even with Montreal trying to establish the run to help their QB's early. They ran at will vs Ottawa last night. Pretty clear who/what is getting picked on by opposing teams. Of course that be attributed to other corrections as well, but I'm not going to do a blocking job for Kuale because frankly, I'm not a fan. I'm still saying it's selective stats because they're after the fact, before corrections were made, and don't allow for proper game planning. But I do agree teams will target areas, as well as players. True, but the biggest difference is not having one MLB completely out of the play most of the time, usually because he's over pursuing. I appreciate Kuale's effort, his intelligence not as much. I'd love him as a rush end. Tackles are a horrible stat to judge LB's, but Kuale has 19 in 8 games. That's a joke. Like if an OL came up to the bench press at the combine and did 2 reps.

Redblacks at Als - The Crap Bowl
There was a total lack of urgency in terms of preserving time to score the points and actually scoring what was necessary to win last night for Ottawa late in the game. I'd tend to agree that Campbell was taking a longer view towards a tiebreaker. Chances of making a 3rd and 20, then scoring and getting an onside kick are way better than getting a good punt, a 2 and out, a score, and then an onside kick. You're giving full control to the Als, and wasting time. Keep adding variables, keep multiplying your odds of doing something positive, subtract time from the clock. Putting the ball in the other teams hands purposefully down 2 scores inside the 3 minute warning is almost never an option IMO. Toss up a 50-50 pass and throw a PI challenge if nothing else.

Roster Update
we were 3-1 with Sears in the lineup and 1-0 with Kromah in the line up... do you have a point you would like to make? And 0-2 with 360 yards rushing against in the last two games Kuale played.

I don't really care one way or the other about Burris but his contract is another matter. With an established QB on the roster, all the RBs had to do was spend the money they wasted on Burris and acquire FAs. How many could they have acquired? At least 2, probably 3, and they could have been receivers. (Nick Moore for example) Of course Glenn couldn't have done much better but you never know. Being an expansion team, you have to develop a team over time. They had Glenn - develop DeMarco, or at least determine if DeMarco is the way to go. One or two clutch receivers would have helped. Look to the draft and the next Free Agency. IMO, they went to far, too soon when they went all in with Burris, especially when they could easily have lost all those games with Glenn instead. Coaching, well that's another playbook in the writing, isn't it? I think the best thing Ottawa has going is probably their coaching staff, long-term I think Rick Campbell and his crew will be there long after Marcel D. is gone. They have the Henry Burris of coaching staffs. Gibson and Nelson are a step above where they belong, both nearing retirement. Campbell is looking more like a Tim Burke than a Milanovich or O'Shea. Punting inside the 3 minute warning down 10? Something Burke would do.

Roster Update
O'Shea is starting to trend toward irrational loyalty to certain players. What does Don Unamba bring to our team that Johnny Sears wouldn't bring, or Alex Suber, or Marty Markett? Unamba is not very good on D, good on special teams. All of the previously mentioned guys have been excellent special teamers, and two of them have been or are arguably elite CFL defenders. Unamba and Kuale always fly around at 100 mph (often to the detriment of their game), but they don't make a lot of plays for us on D.

What's Kelsey's? a Saskatchewan fine dining experience Living in Calgary you would know all about mediocre dining experiences. IMHO of course. I've only been out here for a couple of years, but I'm still searching for a really mediocre greasy breakfast joint. All the places close to me are the type of restaurants that charge $12 for eggs and have huge lineups I lived in Calgary for 10 years and that city can't compare to the Wpg. for culinary experiences other than corporate chains and the upper end. Doesn't have 1/10th as many independent burger joints or greasy spoons. Closest I found to a good greasy spoon was the Deerhead Cafe low down on Edmonton Trail in the N.W. and it wasn't great. Husky serves up a mediocre breakfast as well but nothing to compare with the Red Top, Nick's in Headingly or the old Paladin. Did they ever re-build after the fire? Problem with Calgary imo is that it doesn't have any soul. Paladin has not rebuilt and will not. The fire came shortly after the owner died and the family was not interested in the business, so it does make one wonder. The insurance only paid out if they rebuilt. They didn't benefit from the fire.

Redblacks at Als - The Crap Bowl
Need to score down by 10 points with under 2 minutes. Ball needs to be moving down the field. Can't waste half a minute trying to nudge the ball across the first down marker. In that scenario, down and distance barely matter, you only have so many plays available and need to score twice. They just can't see forest for the trees right now. Paying attention to minor details, forgetting the goal is to win football games.

Redblacks at Als - The Crap Bowl
Ottawa can't even compete with the next worst team. Just look completely unprepared to compete, even watching their late game offence, they have zero urgency. Poorly coached team on top of being short several players. Down by 10 points, punted under the 3 minute warning and ran two QB sneaks on 2nd and 1 when they need 10 points with a minute and a half left. Horrible.

Love how Burris gets stripped and immediately looks for someone to blame. Ottawa is getting worse, not better as they should.

Nick Moore
His production would indicate otherwise when Moore has been out. Denmark has been fairly consistent through his career regardless of other weapons, more a matter of quarterbacking that will affect everybody.

Vega Healthy Scratch for Sunday
Vega isn't healthy and probably won't be for the rest of the season. They are trying to preserve him a bit. He's basically at the if he really needs to play, he can stage.

Willy injured at practice
Mike Quinn 2.0.I don't expect much more from Brohm based on the pre-season, granted the limited reps. Personally I don't think he's mobile enough to be much of a QB here. If we could make a clone with his arm and say, Alex Brink's mobility, that would be a CFL QB. Willy hasn't shown much mobility here either. Or are u referring to pocket presence? Willy has dealt with pressure pretty well on the whole. He can escape, he can scramble, he's mobile. In that sense, mobility and pocket presence are related. Not that useful to be mobile if you run into a defenders arms or lose a bunch of yards. They aren't running many designed runs for him, only a handful of draws. Keeping him in the pocket is by design, and probably something our offence should be doing a little less of, but I'm a fan of rollouts to give a quarterback easier, higher percentage throws and keep guys like Chick off his back. Brohm is a pure drop back passer. His lack of mobility was a problem for NFL scouts, and clearly they don't value that skill as much as our game does for a QB.

Josh Gordon in the CFL?
Especially when you consider the amount of guys who pop dozens of pills daily with phony prescriptions from sycophant physicians...something that is way more harmful and ultimately performance enhancing.
