This kind of one man pocket disruption is what we need.

Bombers ended up +5 on penalties there so just a typo. Looks like they added the 15 from Sask penalty to the 10 from ours to get the 25 yards.

Would like to see Haba cut and a couple edge rushers brought in during this bye. We have absolutely nothing in terms of pressure or explosiveness on the edge. It's like a half speed scrimmage for opposing OT's. Jefferson is reading QB eyes trying to disrupt passing lanes, hardly ever actually rushes these days. Could see after the one Sask march he must have got **** and came out next drive actually trying to press the pocket a bit. Personally I like what Hall did the last few years using Willie more in the middle of the line with his length reading QB eyes. On the edge at this point he's not very impactful. Teams know what's coming and just work around it or away from it. Garbutt is very steady, assignment sound. No pressure. Like him for when we play someone like Ford. Has a role to play here but in concert with a guy opposite him on the boundary side who is more of a pure rusher.

10 yard penalty for objectionable conduct. Only 25 yard penalty is disqualification. They should move the Rum Hut to the tailgate area connected to stadium. Put some screens out there. People standing there aren't watching the game anyway and in old stadium weren't either. They'd hear something happen, watch the replay. Fine to have that party going but creates a giant chokepoint on the already narrow concourse.

CFL - 2024 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
Brown is definitely dirty. Just a coincidence that the same DL is involved in 3 illegal hits on QB's leading to injury when there hasn't been another hit on a QB in the pocket by anyone else like this in the CFL this season? All those other guys just suck that bad and Brown is so great and powerful or what? In either of the hits on our QB's if he engages to tackle it's a non issue. He's out there targeting prone QB's with intent to injure. Why the **** are you rolling around like a bowling ball? Streveler is clearly set to pass. The rules are pretty clear where you can hit QB's. If your target is low because of being blocked it's on you to change it or avoid the contact. You don't get to just treat the QB like a pin at the end of the lane and jam your shoulder pad under the kneecap. Why the **** are you tucking your arms back when you're coming at a QB in his throwing motion? "Oh I was just trying to turn my shoulder into him and just happened to drive my helmet into his facemask." He's out there trying to injure people and is out of control. And it will cost the Riders eventually. Luckily for them the past two weeks other penalties both ways basically made his fouls moot.

Hasn't played much past couple seasons. The more he played the less comfortable he looked in terms of being able to hit guys on time intermediate and vertical. IMO Dolegala is better. Arbuckle is basically a junior QB coach on the roster for Dinwiddie...not sure anyone wants to use him for any significant stretch.

If he gets injured we are absolutely ******. Especially with the current (and future) state of the OL. We probably can't roster more than 1 American back easily. I think we'd have a better shot of competing with Collaros down than Oliviera.

Just remember there's about a half dozen agents that negotiate most of the contracts and they want their guys playing if they are able to. There's not a lot of guys dying on the vine if there's somewhere for them to play. Also the money aspect. They are paying real money and salary management space to Shiltz if he comes off 6 game. Money in both aspects they could use to re-sign someone they actually want to keep into 2025 and lower their burden on their 2025 budgets to open up space for more moves. Shiltz basically has no value to them so ship him off for a lottery ticket. They are basically crashing out of the playoff race. Are they going to put Shiltz on the field? Probably not. They are going to try to rehabilitate Maier who still has guaranteed money or move to a guy with potential to be something more than Shiltz could be.

Oliviera is our entire offense. Don't think anyone in his realm TD or not.

Yeah and Sask took the ball so we had the wind in the 2nd quarter...the long quarter of the first half.

There's that...but maybe an opportunity to look for a little more too in terms of passing ability. Personally don't mind Dolegala. He's workable.

Thought they were awful both ways. Couldn't do anything on first down basically the whole game but especially the last 3 quarters. Hard to adjust when you both can't move anyone and can't make a pocket. Hit a few nice outside zone runs on last drive for FG including the direct snap. Bad game overall though. That was like a 6-12 team OL out there today.

Shiltz is nothing to them today and nothing to them in the future. He's never been a starter, he never will be. The Riders traded Collaros for a conditional 4th round pick at the end of July 2019. Guys like Arbuckle have been traded around for 4th round pick. Shiltz is below that level.

We’ve won most than a few this year with an O getting like 5-6 yards per play relying a lot on check downs to Oliviera. Dolegala can do what Zach did today. I’d rather a guy in terms of pass that forces the D to cover the whole field which is basically the only reason we had first downs today because the O was struggling badly.

Powell is injured. So is Shiltz. Think could easily have Shiltz for like a 5th round pick if he’s ready to return.

Wind was significant from south. Gusting over 40 km/h. Again Riders into wind in both long quarters. Mace might learn at some point.

Can see all CTV affiliates on Roku. And it’s over the air so if you have a TV with digital antenna it’s free. Would think TSN would stream the game through app. Also CFL+ through cfl.ca

Calgary is in full desperation mode. Crazy to me they dropped Kylin Hill. He looked extremely explosive. Not sure what Mills has.

Personally don't think he has a hope in hell of playing pro QB with his lack of accuracy/zip. But will be a nice receiver at his size and toughness. Kind of the traditional Canadian slotback although those guys often play at the field WR now with the hashmark change. Might be a nice piece as an offensive weapon where you can use him taking the snap in run sets.- 2024 Banjo Bowl Talk
I'd like another DL. And if we're dressing the number we are, Haba wouldn't be on my roster. But this is probably the healthiest roster they've fielded in awhile aside from Whitehead who is a bit of a concern. I think we can read into dressing Bridges over Adams into what their game plan is a little bit. They like to go heavy on O so having the 7 OL back could be a big difference in getting the run game going. Have to assume Sask is going to be a bit more concerned about defending vertical after last week but Mace hasn't adjusted all year so maybe not.- CFL - 2024 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
If that's the number in Edmonton and I'm the CFL team I'm saying build us a new stadium. That stadium SUCKS for football as a fan. You'll never get the atmosphere of Winnipeg or Regina...**** even Hamilton in there unless they are demolishing it and rebuilding it completely to put proper stands in for football.- 2024 Banjo Bowl Talk
They've been playing with 7 DB's on the field for the last 6 weeks as their base D. I'm counting Kramdi and Griffin as DB's. For the majority of snaps both are on the field. If teams start playing heavier they've played two of Bighill/Jones/Gauthier but usually were playing with only one of Bighill/Jones on the field behind 40 fronts. When they go 30 front they usually bring in another DB. So we'll probably win 55-3 then.- CFL - 2024 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
They could have taken that $20,000 and given everyone at one of their home games $1.- 2024 Banjo Bowl Talk
Griffin is a way better version of what they were trying to have Cole be on D the second half of last season and first half of this one. - Blue Bombers - 2024 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
