Claire Hanna always sounds like she's trying to have a conversation over nightclub level loud music. You have a mic, you don't have to yell.

Placement way better. Easier to cover a quarter of the field than all of it.

Kongbo just runs right away from the play...at least stay in there and get a hand up so the QB can't just hit the lane.

Front office botched the kicking positions this off-season. No way to know what Liegghio would be under the lights, but dangerous to assume he'd be up to it. At this point he looks like a developmental kicker very early in that development, basically should be on PR.

Liegghio keeps punting into the middle of the field which is killing us too.

Collaros needs to actually keep one of those read handoffs for it to work. No one is respecting the fact he might.

Signing or working out for the Bombers? Anyone coming up can't practice for 14 days anyway.

Gotta snag an Aussie punter. Holy crap. None of them kick off a tee though. Probably have a better chance of knocking a drop kick through the uprights.

There's not many of them though. They generally only do one well. Even a guy like Leone has a leg but is a 70% FG kicker and a great punter. There's not going to be another Medlock without some pain developing that player, likely a kicker who takes on punting.

Too bad we didn't bring up a few kickers up from the states and let them duel through camp. Now we can't bring anyone in without a quarantine unless they've been cut by another CFL team and stayed up here.

Obviously saw something on film that made them think blitzing Bighill out of basically a halfback spot was a good idea. Calgary eating that up, taking a guy out of the second level to the field 3 out of 4 second downs on that drive.

Our blitzes are ineffective, don't bother rushing more than 4 on second and long.

Bombers come out in traditional 4-3 with 3 actual backers, Bighill at SAM.

Lapolice hasn't presided over a great O since 2002. Beyond all the greatness he needs out of his players to even put an average ball control O on the field he's needed exceptional special teams and defense in terms of field position and scoring. He's been lucky to have an absolute superstar in terms of performance and durability in Harris in his last stint here. If we went through all the ST and D scores direct and influenced by short fields in last 4 seasons a lot of shine would come off his resume. The fact that he ran away from Arbuckle and installed Nichols should end his tenure in Ottawa rapidly.

Week 4 Practice Notes & Discussions

A big deficit for this team so far is kicking. Medlock was a weapon, now we're just hoping our kicking doesn't kill us. To me all the import receivers other than Lawler are fighting for their jobs. Let's see who steps up. Stewart and Williams are going to get their shot soon and Demski will be back. I'd like to see all our backs have a role to keep them all fresh and have Harris taking less work.

3 stars and hh bluer than blue

The DB in trail position has no bearing on whether the hit is clean or dirty. The hit is not late, which is what might bring that issue into play, say a guy is already under wraps and someone comes in late to belt him. Being "engaged" with another player is not a factor in the open field, defenders are still encouraged to rally to the ball and finish tackles, whether that's 1, 2 or 6 defenders.
