  1. We rostered 3 Americans on D last week who didn't even play a snap. If this guy could play 5 snaps on our 2nd and 20 package he'd be an improvement.
  2. This roster has more issues with having quality Americans to start with than needing to move the ratio around to get them on the field. We had 3 DI’s on D last week who didn’t even play a down on D
  3. Arbuckle was the Argos QB who beat us in 2021. The Argos right now are DOMINANT on D and not a team I would want to face in the playoffs. Especially their pass rush and secondary. Their offense on its own struggles to put up 20 points.
  4. One of the American tackles would be getting reps with the 1’s if Bryant is out. Gray gets the reps if Bryant can play but can’t practice because he’s next up at LT if Bryant goes down in game.
  5. Yeah for 29 points over 2 games. Hence the losing. He was a great OC with a historically great D and special teams, which is what he had the entire time of his third stint here. Hall's D set records for turnovers, we had Medlock with historical seasons and playoff runs. We weren't scoring many TD's on O. The best thing Lapo did here was realize that Streveler was a guy who needed a role on O.
  6. How are we going to know if Dolegala served his suspension or not? Seems like he's been serving a one-game suspension all year.
  7. Wonder if any of the media can tells us if Cooper is a DB or DE? He's been listed as both and played both in NCAA. Either way didn't take a defensive rep last week with all the guys down pre and during the game.
  8. The guy who doesn't line up as nose tackle, usually in the B gap shading the guard.
  9. Didn't seem to have much of a NFL dream. Interesting to see CFL teams grabbing a little deeper in the US pool. I think that guy will be a 3 tec DT up here. Good push, not much for speed rush or moves.
  10. If you can honestly watch the team that Lapolice has built from scratch over two years in Ottawa and say you want that guy near a professional football team anytime soon you’re deranged. He’s got a 10 year minimum sentence at TSN to cleanse from this **** show he’s created. The guy can’t coach QBs. You can’t hand over a team or an offense in any level of football now to someone who can’t coach QBs. 2022 Masoli was his 2010-12 Buck Pierce.
  11. Use of a term that would be a slur to a Metis person but in the States is commonly used to refer to someone who has parents of different races.
  12. Also if some of the accusations about what Whitehead said were true will be interesting how league handles it given that Marino was suspended 1 game for a “verbal comment related to heritage.”
  13. Watch out, Rourke has a scooter and crutches.
  14. Hard to judge Alexander this early. Rose is mostly playing the field, some variation brings him inside because Hamilton runs funky run-and-shoot stuff, but still got burned deep. That was inexcusable, and on a play when the rush was in Evans face. Rose was getting ready to run up there and celebrate a sack, his feet stopped and he was watching the backfield. Not many positive plays for him in this game. I expect the trouble with the medium-underneath stuff vs a scheme like Hamilton's if the QB is accurate, you can't really cover their 3 man (4 man with the fullback and put that doubt in the Bombers D early) route combinations you have to guess so there's often going to be a guy who is "wide-open" but it's on the QB to read that half of the field post snap. Or you run more zone stuff to challenge the QB and risk getting beat deep (ultimately what I would prefer to do vs run-and-shoot in a vacuum). Theoretically if you have any pass rush that's how you defend that offensive scheme. We didn't have that. Parker is playing the boundary which is quite often the hot seat where Dunbar is. He didn't get beat deep which is his job. If there wasn't a total defensive collapse his day would be fine. Going to give up some first downs. Holm was the only DB who came up and made plays on the ball. I feel like Nichols will be playing a lot more of a deep half that Taylor played with the safety with Taylor out, looked that way today. The big plays to the tight end we'll never know who's fault that is without knowing the scheme/call exactly on each play. The backers key looked to be run and then drop to crossers. Both those big plays were wheel routes behind a trips formation, one was backside crosser to seam. Some teams would cross their halfback with a SAM if they like the matchup better on a certain slot, some teams would prefer the halfback stay on the receiver and the SAM take the guy who is usually a blocker with a run key too. None of the 4 DB's (including SAM) on the side of the field where that route ended up took the deep routes by 38 for Hamilton. A big thing is that it's not really going to help to keep moving guys in and out, around the field. 4 games left, maybe try someone new next game but would be nice to let a group in the secondary play out the season to develop some familiarity and chemistry for playoffs. He's had fumbles like that almost weekly unfortunately.
  15. Calgary can't seem to unlock their offense to get the timely points in close games no matter who is at QB. Will be interesting to see them vs Sask, haven't played them yet but otherwise haven't beat any West teams other than Edmonton....lucky they got to play them 4 times.
  16. Calgary 0-5 vs Winnipeg and BC BC wins both games in Calgary by a combined 3 points. Calgary 3 games back of BC, 4 games back of Bombers factoring in tiebreakers. BC and Winnipeg will be hosting West playoff games.
  17. Would be a pretty weak PI. Receiver running opposite way pass is thrown. Maier would have hit upright if he put that one on Begelton.
  18. Calgary D already cracked the beer once they got the last stop to set up the kick feels like.
  19. Calgary is 0fer so far vs teams tied or above them in standings.
  20. I mean opinion is great but it's a math problem. If they are within 2 games it comes down to the last 2 games for the Bombers home and home.
  21. BC controls their own destiny for first in the West as much as we do if they win this game.
  22. Holm is like the third-worst DB we had on the field today, which also makes him the third-best. Sayles is fine but clearly had no ability to get around the edge. Unbelievable to me that we have a DE dressed that we wouldn't even give a single rep to, even when we're down 4 scores.
  23. Didn't say anything about Bighill. Yeah he's basically a rover. But on that last Hamilton drive that burned 8 whatever off the clock he had the tailback dead to rites at the line twice and ole'd pretty hard. There's a couple chances for a real big play to get the offense back on the field. One of them was really bad because he just kind of put his arm out there and quit. If the guy is that injured sit him.
  24. Gauthier is basically playing MLB right now. Yeah he's WIL on the depth chart but he's not starting very often outside of the guards. I get why he's out there because he's the only guy we regularly use on D that can hit and drive through a tackle, not get lifted for another 5 yards. Also does the same to blockers on the inside zone runs.
  25. Receiver at any spot can start off the line, offense just has to have 7 on line and tackle covered (generally, there are some different formations where they don't have to be). Hamilton generally uses a tight end on the line and runs trips (3 receivers) to one side of the field with the waggle. Condell uses that run and shoot kind of philosophy with 3 man routes. It's hard to cover straight up, usually have to guess in or out breaking because they run lots of levels out of that 3 man look, then up to QB to hit the wide open guy. Hall doesn't really play zone, it's match coverages where guys are reading/guessing routes. Zone would probably work best vs run and shoot to force the QB to hold the ball.
