Black is a good pick. Thought we might go for him too. All or nothing. Only thing is by the time he's a player he'll be a free agent.

I'll be happy if most players in this draft are on the field for other teams. There's not many guys in this draft. Happy teams avoiding the D lineman, because most of the rest are junk.

I'm not sure they need Ferguson or Barker. Maybe a side panel to bring in every round to summarize. There's like 5 players in this draft that have a chance to start (not including the NFL guys) and he's one of them.

Why?

Tucker to Calgary had to be one of the most obvious ones. Only thing was Ottawa or Sask could have grabbed him first. I think Ottawa will be very disappointed with their pick sooner than later.

Tucker has a sickening face that will fit in with that locker room.

I'm glad Ottawa and Sask picked who they did. More chance we'll get one of the good DL Uguak or Bemiy.

Edmonton might have got the best player in the draft. Bull is heavy, high bust potential. Not sure what Barker is on thinking the guy has any chance to play tackle in pro football. Even in his highlight film he's struggling with the speed of a weak conference.

And everyone has flipped back to the NHL, Jays or NBA by the time they start announcing picks.

They should have the picks ready to go for when TSN comes to air. This 10 minutes of nothing is just a waste of time.

Some of these Aussie punters should practice kicking off a tee if they want a CFL career. I suppose the lure of the NFL money keeps them solely focused on punting.

It's a lot of sour grapes from Ackie. Thorpe has pretty consistently started and played Canadians all over. Usually had 2-3 Canadians in the secondary including SAM LB.

Yeah because all the sure things are basically NFL guys. Wouldn’t mind if the Bombers used an early pick on someone like Sidy Sow. Any OL likely to make it into camp are all projects. This is a special teams draft, and not kickers either.

I really disagree with his reasoning on why the Bombers would take him. I don't think he'll be much of a special teams guy. He's bulking to play inside. I can see the Bombers taking a DB quite early.

You can see a lot of video on Hudl if you Google his name. Last time I saw him in person it was just a lot of running by people, not a lot of route work. Murdoch was a top division team though so he did get some decent competition before the pandemic. Looking at his US highlights it's a lot of jet sweeps and plays to get him the ball quick, screens. It'll be good for him to get into training camp and see where he is. I'm not sure the Rifles will be an amazing opportunity for his development, he might jump out to BC next year.

Basically how this works is he’s signed with the Rifles and the Bombers are inviting him as a territorial exemption. He can be on the practice roster and keep U Sports eligibility. NCAA is completely different, and he’d likely never qualify to get into a D1 school since he hasn’t attended US high school and is unlikely to perform well on their standardized tests.

Nice that those guys care enough to be a part of that as NFL players.

There's no way that their costs to compete in Canada would be more than in NCAA or even NAIA. Just think every meal they provide athletes, coaches and support staff in the US is 35% more than the same meal in Victoria, Kamloops, Edmonton, Winnipeg or Saskatoon. Canada West has 6 members within a 5 hour drive of SFU and UNBC in Prince George just a bit farther. 4 schools in Edmonton and Calgary, Lethbridge, then the 5 prairie schools. They'd save a metric **** ton of costs by competing in Canada for all sports. Football conference is a lot smaller, but there's no justification on cost for them on choosing to compete in US college ranks.

Take a look into their other team sports and how they've fared in NCAA D2. I think there will be a significant push from alumni to force the whole athletic department to rejoin CIS or NAIA.

It's not the worst time for an athlete to transfer but kind of sucks for anyone who is all in on going to that school.
