That corner to Lawler, Demski, Schoen is a TD.

Augustine had a nice gap wide of Gray, but danced around. Nice cover by Cole.

Kinda wish they would have used YouTube or something I could cast nicely to a TV.

Jackson could take snaps as a pass rusher, extra blocker on O, all special teams.

If you can be guaranteed one thing it's that this regime won't sign a guy who isn't a good interview.

2022/2023 Off-Season (League/Non-Bombers-specific News)
Kongbo is what Kongbo is. The bigger issue competitively is when healthy BC can have 3 of Betts, Kongbo, Menard, Cherry, Hladik, Lokombo on the field at all times and stack their secondary and offense with more imports. But they still have to hope for a Dane Evans revival. All of those Canadians on D for BC are better players when they only need to play 30 snaps a game though.

Someone like Cole (the DB) has a lot of utility as a DI. Could see that special teams WIL type spot going to him but as a backup DB since they have a lot of coverage at backup LB from the nationals and Globals.

Training camp is basically a long tryout/work into game shape/culture building time. They are not installing anything you'll really see in the regular season at this point. It's hardly even worth considering who gets reps in which group, who is on the field with who.

Crazy to see the amount of NSIC guys in camp. That's incredibly low level competition. Guess you could find some diamonds in the rough like a Zylstra. My cousin and now his sons have played for Northern State in Aberdeen. I've been to a few games there and the competition is lower than a good Bisons team vs a good Sask, U of C or UBC team facing off.

Well, what does it say? Is there a Section Row Seat? Rose is coming off two pretty serious leg/foot injuries the past few years.

Need a receiver who can catch 75-25 balls.

BLM was not Calgary’s starter for most of last season. He really hasn’t played a full season since 2018.

I don't think it will matter for a kicker. The only time the starters are counted are O and D. A kicker will still need a DI spot just to get onto the roster as an American.
-
Bombers Rookie Camp/Training Camp/Pre-Season Thread
In the end it will be bad for the league because it will encourage teams to keep worse players in DI slots simply because they have status to replace Canadians and discourage developing American players when it comes to shorter term decision-making (ie who do we keep around when we cut the roster).

There will be a lot of making it up as things "evolve" in my opinion...both on the team and league levels.

There's no benefit to running 6 receivers unless you have a QB who you want running, and who is a running threat. Otherwise you just let the DL/blitzers tee off.

The reality is that the beat writers right up to Tait have no ******* clue what’s going on. They take 50 reps each but you’ll just get “this guy made a great move once.” The only thing they can really report on is the narrative feel of things. It would be nice if each city had an actual football analyst more engaged with training camp. Say Walby. I get that he doesn’t really want to put the time in now. And to some extent there’s not really an audience for that depth of coverage like there is for the NFL.

Don't really care about last year tbh for Castillo. 2021 his distance and net were better than Liegghio's 2021 or 2022. I don't really see him not doing kickoffs if he's on the roster.

Oh, Craig Dickenson realized culture is key in building a team. I mean why not 18-0?
-
2022/2023 Off-Season (League/Non-Bombers-specific News)
Why would Liegghio kickoff if Castillo is playing? Because we want to lose 15 yards of field position each kick?
