I had no problem with the short practices when we were winning. Now that we're losing, it's something we can change to see if we get better results.

Most folks aren't pointing just to the playoffs last year. They are saying they saw it coming since the 3rd game of the season. We're talking about a QB that went from a QB rating of 118, best in the league last year to 77, worst in the league this year. That's a huge difference. Collaros had two bad regular season games last year... BC & Hamilton. He's already had more than that this year. 20-20 hindsight says we should have traded him in the off season when he still had value and another team MIGHT be willing to pick up his stupidly large contract. A QB tandem of Brown & Streveler would obviously be better this year.

Stats never tell the whole story. Are you suggesting that the stats don't matter at all? Your pointing to the 3rd game of last season as to when Collaros went bad? If that's so, how did Collaros get the best QB rating & the best TD % in the league at the end of the season.? We were the 2nd best team in the league despite the so called boneheaded decisions. That's all on receivers making great plays and BO right? Nothing to do with Collaros who was in the talk for MOP right up to the end of the season. Collaros' last 2 full games of the season, both wins, we scored 31 & 34 points. Collaros threw for 258,389 yards. That's not a QB who had lost it in week 3.

I'm not making any excuses for the Lions. I'm saying VAJ had a terrible game and the team still lost by 1. You said that could be said of any team, perhaps because you didn't understand what I wrote. The Lions also took a bunch of dumb penalties, went deep too often when they only needed 10 yards and got beat on their OL over and over again. None of these are excuses, they are reasons that the Lions lost.

VAJ missed 6 or 7 deep balls. Completing just one of them turns this one from a loss to a win. VAJ also threw a stupid pick that took 3 points off the board at the end of the half. If the DB simply held onto the fumble, BC would have likely won. Riders on top of the west surprises everyone.

True they F'd up, but with 5 seconds on the clock, the V formation isn't a guarantee. Run the QB around and then throw the ball with a second left on the clock is the right play. Trying to whack the QB into the middle of next week after he threw the ball away is a cheap shot. I'm sure Bomber fans would agree if it was the Riders who tried to whack Collaros into next week with zero seconds on the clock.

You should be ashamed of that opinion! The Riders couldn't just Victory Formation it. There were too many seconds left on the clock. It was a cheap shot. It was unnecessary. It was after the game was over. It was after the ball was thrown. It was childish. Knocking a QB into next week after the game is completely over should = A week off for Bighill. The CFL can't afford to lose QB's to stupid hits like that one.

The Argos and the Riders are playing with their backup QB's. Both look better than Collaros this year. Montreal will start playing with their backup QB next week. I bet they don't go 2-5 in the next 7 games. BC lost their top two receivers and haven't lost a step. We lose our top 2 and use that as an excuse for losing. Hamilton and Edmonton haven't won a game yet. Next week one of them will most likely be a single game behind us. If we lose 2 of our next 3, & I think that's probable, then it's time to dump the old guys who won't be around next year and give the youngsters the playing time. It's time to see what Streveler can do. It's time to bring in young guys to actually compete. It's time to bring in NFL cuts to compete. It's time to bring in the best young QB we can find and start the process.

If Streveler can't get it done this year, then we need to move on from both him & Collaros.

Riders are #1 against the rush & #9 against the pass. It the turn over ratio where they shine (#1 @ +8, with 16 TO's). We're #3 in rushing yards & #8 in passing yards, & #7 in turn over ratio @ -1. It's strength against strength and weakness against weakness. If they can force an extra turn over, they should win at home.
