  1. Almost as if there were an Argo Bounce that showed up. Again.
  2. And you will continue to do so for as long as we say so. And you may address those cheques to "The Champions".
  3. If it were being offered, I'd take that deal in a heartbeat.
  4. Well... from a moneyball perspective, you have a portion of you Salary Cap Budget which is set up for you receivers. You also have a production goal for your receivers. So as long as your Production Goal exceeds your Salary allottment, you're ok... But I really have to strain to imagine what you'd need from one player who eats up that much of it.
  5. Wow. So what level of production would be required to justify that salary? Seriously, what metrics would you attach to that portion of your receiver budget being locked on one player? I'm saying 1500 yards, 15 touchdowns (at a minimum) or it's a failure.
  6. 8-1 in my lifetime. 7 in a row. 7-0 against one particular team. You can act like it's no big deal... But I know we're the last team that anyone wants to face at the GC.
  7. Argos becoming East Champions wouldn't mean much? I would think that it might mean a great deal to any Western team that goes to the Grey Cup. When we go, we win.
  8. No, because we had him last year. So that's not "better", it's looking to pick up where we left off. And if that doesn't happen, then we're definitely worse, so... We've done good business and have assembled a roster that looks ready to try winning another Eastern Championship. Life, Injuries and the Unexpected will still happen as they may to every team.
  9. If the announcement that MBT is back gets made, you'd have to make us favorites in the East.
  10. There's reports that Chris Edwards will not re-sign with the Argos. Helluva SAM/DB. Game breaking emotional player. Had some clashes with the staff and is 30. I get why it's time... ... especially since the word is we'll be signing Adarius Pickett. McManus, Williams and Pickett looks pretty good.
  11. Right, so you're talking about import Tackles in depth spots. Those are gettable.
  12. The O Line and at QB are the main areas where it is a must, and absolute requirement to have a succession plan in place. Pretty much any other area of the team can be patched up through free agency, but you've got to have those two handled.
  13. Hey, the off season can be a long slog. Thought I'd offer the invite.
  14. Non Bomber Off Season Update: One of my riding Brothers gets the Grey Cup a week from today on the Holiday Monday. We're tailgating and having a party. Expecting 70+ friends. Menu is looking good. Any MBB posters in the GTA East who'd like to pop-in can PM me. Speaking for myself, it'll be the final time this off season that I celebrate our Championship. Afterward, the climb begins again.
  15. If Rhymes and his agent want to angle for a new deal (likely by offering another year or two), they're welcome to try. The worst the team can say is "no".
  16. The silence over that train derailment is beyond suspicious. Anything in the media regarding it is in very innocuous, anodyne terms. No pun intended, but this thing glows in the dark.
  17. Double Blue Meanie? Nice.
  18. Cool. Tempt Fate, then.
  19. I'm day drunk. But I had to report back that my research project was received very favorably and that all of my Brothers raised an enthusiastic toast to Sir William Stephenson... the Quiet Canadian... The man called "Intrepid".
  20. https://www.tsn.ca/cfl/toronto-argonauts-re-sign-running-back-a-j-ouellette-1.1918103 This is pretty good for the Scullers. Also... Petition to change the thread name. Sorry.
  21. Yes! I am President of a riding Chapter that has Associated Chapters and Grand Chapter Districts around the world. Each one will typically have a Chapter Nickname and Patch. Within our local geographic area that we call home is the site where Camp X operated. So naturally our name is a riff on William Stephenson's Codename: Intrepid. I just love his story. Great man. Proud to have his name on my vest.
  22. Yeah, you could get strong arguments either way for Riel.
  23. Pretty sure this is in reference to his prank where he solicited votes from listeners?
  24. So I'd say that the easy answer to who the Greatest Canadian to come from Winnipeg is of course Terry Fox. He didn't spend much of his life there, but he was indeed born there so I think that he is hands down the Greatest Canadian from Winnipeg. Who then, would you say, gets the runner up prize and why? I'm asking because of a research project I'm doing and I would say that it is about your 2nd greatest Winnipegger. I won't say who it is because I don't want to bias the outcome... But I'm genuinely curious on who the consensus points toward.
