I wish that were the case - but it isn't.

Do you know any Americans? They don't change their votes easily.

And - he could still win the next election.

    Mr. Burns was cackling somewhere...

In the video thread and most likely the U.S. politics thread.

I agree with Jay, but if you want a third option, a fire pit with a good quality grill is hard to beat. Once you get a feel for how to grill with wood coals, there will be no going back. Ash is the best grilling wood. Oak is fine too, but it gives the meat a stronger flavour that not everyone prefers. And all you need for cleaning is your garden hose & some steel wool.

Kick his ash if he doesn’t show himself out.

Exactly this. I think it was their anti - immigrant / refugee stance, that finally cost them Mr. Adler’s support.

Of late - Charles Adler has become downright respectable.

Sure, he’s not helping the situation, but this happens about every 4 - 5 years down south.

When you’re Republican, they probably are! This still the same media who said he had no chance of becoming President - he is about as vindictive as they come.

To be clear, I am not defending Trump, I am the last guy who would do that. But most of this is not on Trump, it is a long - standing U.S. issue. Let’s not forget the riots in St. Louis - during Obama’s tenure. Blaming a president is an oversimplification of a deeply rooted and complex issue.

Clarified earlier in the thread - he means Americans

“No longer necessary” is not the same as taking a more relaxed approach from the start.

And your plan was to do nothing, somehow identify and isolate everyone who's vulnerable, and then wait for herd immunity to develop. This is a new virus - how could officials KNOW FOR SURE who the most vulnerable people were? Some pandemics have killed many young and healthy individuals. But there was no way to predict (in the early going, maybe not even now) precisely who the vulnerable segments of the population were. You point to some segments as being statistically insignificant - but you forget that those statistics were not available a few months ago. The Spanish flu is the classic example of what can happen if you go the herd immunity route - most governments in 2020 just could not take that risk.

    True - it’s 356K

    Gotcha - makes sense.

50 million people died from the Spanish Flu world wide - or do you mean 500 000 Americans?
  19. It always was a farce, anyway.

He’s in with big pharma - they are working on poisoning the entire world to control the population. Trump is the only person who can stop these corrupt people.

IIRC, there was a strong candidate running for the Dems, but the usual result happened.

Yes, North Dakota really has no large urban centres. As for Western Ontario, it all depends how many of those people travel further East, or have contact with people who do.

Point(s) taken. I think we will see governments choose a blend of both. For example - I don't think we'll see Manitoba completely close the schools again. I just worry about who is ultimately going to benefit from all this money being borrowed that will have to be paid back. I think we all know the answer...

The feds can’t keep on loaning billions and paying people not to work. Eventually inflation will go through the roof, our dollar with drop, and our credit rating could be in serious trouble.

I also think Manitoba has done well, but I’m worried about who is on our borders - Ontario and the Dakotas.
