I really really hate to ask this question, but how well would Bilukidi fit in an Etchevery defence? In my mind I picture his skills/athleticism as similar to Bryant Turner so it seems like there should be some synergy, but I never got to see much of the Raiders (and if I had the opportunity I would probably pass). Immediately? Probably not well. He'd have to adjust physically to the CFL, he's carrying NFL weight in a big way right now. He went from about anywhere between 270-290 in college, playing a stand up rush end spot at times, interior lineman in others. That was probably CFL shape for him. He was flexible in college at that weight, very mobile, very agile. You can see in the picture below, he was a big guy but not much extra weight on him. Not very wide in the middle, just a broad shoulder big fit lineman with some extra weight to carry around. Then he went to the NFL. He's blimped up to about 320 pounds.

Apparently they had a second supplemental draft on May 23rd where Julian Bailey was offered up with no takers. Surprising actually. He was a highly touted receiving prospect a few years ago. Then I found out his 40 time was hovering around 5.00

I know it's preseason and I know Etch doesn't want to tip his hand .. but honestly .. watching the Argos run on us (at will) on Monday night made me cringe .. Agreed. Especially in the flats. Because that's where Owens and Durie (and now probably Coombs) make a living.

There weren't option year clauses to begin with. That option year has been gone a long time. The difference now is that I think guys can sign one year contracts.

How are we piling on? And why is suggesting they could be cut equated to suggesting they may be trash. Good players can be cut too. When you have better players. Do we have better players? And I equate a cut player to traditionally mean he's closer to trash then to treasure, wouldn't you? I guess we'll find out. That's what we were discussing.
  6. Hey Floyd, just out of curiosity, you know Peterson is an import right? Just saying, because the way I've heard you keep talking about him, I just get the sense you may think he's Canadian. ... I remember when I thought Arkee Whitlock was Canadian for like a month.

  8. Is Nick Moore practicing today? Also ... first team REC? I'm assuming Moore (if practicing), Denmark, Kohlert, Feoli-Gudino and Urrutia?

Bilukidi is the one that has the best shot of coming north this year, I'd say. Followed by Matthews.

I don't know ... Suber had a rough go of things out there. But I'm not cutting him after one game either.
  11. What is the point in giving a guy one series to practice? He's not going to learn anything from that.

Tarver, Jaymar, Fraser would all be likely candidates in my mind.
  13. But how was the dental plan?
  14. I try not to read too much into receivers playing well in the preseason. Our leading receivers the last three preseasons have been Trevor Kennedy, Doug Pierce, Perry Floyd and Josh Bishop. It's just what I've seen from the guy in a couple training camp sessions and then at the game (whatever my insights are worth). It was a great play to read the comeback throw on the TD. Agreed. He seems like he's worth keeping around, big turnaround from when I thought he'd be one of the first cuts.
  15. They also managed to make the terrible error with Kim Babij as Kim Back ***** (well, Lady Dog) Apparently we also dressed My Kill Ray Garvin yesterday, according to a buddy of mine.
  16. Another guy that looked rough (which was not what I expected) was Kenny Tate. I expect they'll keep him around because he's got potential and DE is a brand new position for him, but he didn't live up to the hype last night at all.

  18. Walby said Bombers have to fish or cut bait on Pencer. Guy has two massive knee supports plus a bum shoulder. Another busted Joe Mack pick. Tarver is just training camp fodder/garbage. Should be cut today or tomorrow. Cory Watson is a solid WR w/ blocking potential but Walby said how many more games (or years) can the team wait until the guy plays regularly. Miss him as a secondary blocker as this current o-line is putrid, Just putrid. I suspect Walters will drag along with Watson thru most of this season and make decision at end of year. Brohm should be given the broom. Another brokedown NFL hobo. Have to disagree with you on the offensive line. Aside from the bit where we had Stevenson and Pencer manning the right side while Brohm was in, the offensive line looked pretty strong last night
  19. We also have a few new players out there according to the Jumbotron. Steve Upon Morris Nicked Greg Bee I can't even imagine what it said when Feoli Gudino scored.
  20. I liked WIlly, Urrutia, Cotton, Marve, Kemp, Bruce Johnson, Bucknor ... Didn't like Tarver at all. Didn't like Brohm, Jaymar Johnson, Pencer either
  21. Willy played a lot better than his numbers indicate, I'll say that much.
  22. Would you get fired for drinking at work?

I think it says a lot about our locker room that while Foley, Mo Price and the rest of them are babbling away on Twitter about not being able to afford their groceries, our team is doing things like giving away tickets and apparel to fans.

It says Goossen plays center and Pencer doesn't. Just by sheer expectations of the position, Pencer would take longer to develop than Goossen. That being said, I'm still leaning towards the bust label on Pencer if he can't make strides this year.
  25. Isn't that Mike with the shades? One of my favourite gifs ever. Such a loser... Why is he wearing shades to an indoor basketball game? For extra swag points.
