Roster Cut Discussion
Really disappointed with our scouting this offseason, to be honest.

Roster Cut Discussion
I think about a dozen or so. Depending on how the IR goes ... I'm expecting Cotton, Ford, Swiston, Sears and Briggs to be one-gamed, Newman to be six-gamed.

Telegin Explains Suspension
The brain is a funny thing. I've had a number of concussions too. Only knocked out cold once. Mostly hockey. I don't have any of the more serious symptoms, but light sensitivity is an issue.

Weekly Fantasy Contest Details
We've been looking at the TSN fantasy league. It's more or less exactly what we wanted to run, so we may opt to create a private group in that. We'll probably decide over the weekend.

Roster Cut Discussion
One thread for all the roster cut talk makes sense. I would expect they will be released within the next 2 hours, O'Shea is doing a live presser at 10:30.

Watson
You know ... this is actually a fairly overlooked idea by fans. Fitzgerald could definitely be a guy who takes snaps as a receiver if needed.

QB Kolton Browning
No kidding.

Just a reminder ...
Now that training camp is over and done with, we will be drawing for a gift card to the Bomber Store tomorrow. If you gave a report at any time during training camp on what you saw while you attended, you've been given an entry (each time) so check back tomorrow to see if you've won. Thanks again to everyone who provided their insights throughout camp!

QB Kolton Browning
Interesting news a day before cuts. Louisiana-Monroe QB Kolton Browning has been signed.

2001: A Football Odyssey
2001 was my first season as a season ticket holder (I would have been 11 at the beginning of the season) and that play still stands out. I was a huge Bruce fan growing up because of that play. I remember Gordon getting clobbered too, I think. I remember him jumping up to catch the ball and getting undercut. Landed hard. Held on.

CFL cuts
GCn is right, there probably isn't a mutual interest because of scheme.

Messam
Aside from Shologan, mbrg is right, those are all "grass is greener" type guys. Phillips, Gott, Fraser and Eppele are all bandaids and if we don't value guys like Watson because of health issues, those guys should be judged similarly.

Practice Reports
Not a bad receiver, just not a very good one and that's why I don't want him being a starter. I'd rather start Feoli Gudino.
-
Messam
Hmmm.... Wonder if anyone has called Messam a steal other than you? (I'd guess no one, but I'm not about to go through 7 pages of comments to find out) I wonder if any team has worse NI depth than the Bombers? Haaaaaaaaave you met Edmonton? Ottawa is questionable. Hell, even BC is questionable. Luckily for them, they have Harris but their Canadian depth is bad bad bad.

Maher in Ottawa
There was a very hard fought competition.

Only 22,500 tickets sold for home opener
I know that's where I'm going!

Closer Look at Canadian Depth
JFG, Kohlert, Alexander, Briggs and West in place of Swiston, Renaud, Everett, Stephan and Volny makes it look a lot better. Still bad. Not better.

Mike Reilly - Fun with three tires.
I wanna see Hajrullahu kick a ball through 3 hula hoops.

Aaron Kelly reminds me of Chris Brazzell

[Merged] 2014 Predictions / Standing Forecast
I actually think Saskatchewan has way more question marks than BC. They lost a huge chunk of their offence in Sheets and Dressler, and I'm not exactly sold on a guy like Taj Smith to be the go-to guy for Durant. Calgary 13-5 BC 12-6 Sask 10-8 Edm 5-13 Wpg 5-13 (hoping Edmonton wins the tiebreaker) Toronto 13-5 Hamilton 11-7 Montreal 8-10 Ottawa 4-14 Saskatchewan doesn't have question marks in incredibly important areas. BC has problems at QB and problems on the OL. Could blow up in their face.

[Merged] 2014 Predictions / Standing Forecast
I'm predicting Calgary Saskatchewan Then I predict a dog fight for third between BC, Winnipeg and Edmonton. All three teams have major question marks. What does BC do at quarterback? What do they do at offensive line? BC is a team that actually may have to use 3 imports on the OL, how does that affect the rest of their lineup? Can they replace Nick Moore? Edmonton has very similar questions as us ... Canadian talent, offensive line and they have additional concerns at running back.

Bombers add 3, release 2
Urrutia hasn't done much to earn a roster spot at this point other than be tall. Cutdowns are only 3 days away - at this point I'm keeping Dell on the roster ahead of him if that's a choice the numbers forces us to make. I think you hit the nail on the head with Urrutia. I don't think they're ready to give up on him just yet due to his size and speed. From what I've heard though he's performed well in TC practices. So what kind of weight does OShea give camp performances compared to game performances? Based on game performances Jaymar Johnson has to be the frontrunner of the rookie crew. And no one is talking much about Aaron Kelly despite him showing well in practises and games. Woods might still land a spot because of his return skills, although OShea will need to watch tapes from last year to see why some still rave about him - he hasn't done much this year. Kemp has shown flashes of talent and butterfingers. Now Dell is here. We typically keep 6 import receivers somewhere on the rosters. Denmark and Moore are obvious; I suspect Kelly and Johnson are staying around. Who gets those last 2 spots? Is being 6'6" and good in practise enough for Urrutia? Factor in that Jaymar is a slot, not a wideout. Gets a little more confusing.
