Regular Season - Bomber News, Developments & Speculation
Hindsight is 20/20... it's easy now to say that they were both mistakes, but at the time of the draft there were no guarantees

Commissioner gets it right
I don't think that the intention of the iPads was for challenges, I think it was to give the players the ability to review what they were doing and seeing on the field so that they can improve their play/exploit something that they see their opponent doing.

Site Update
Ok, in that case my vote is to put it back to gold.... I find the box in the top banner to be somewhat distracting. Another note, I really like how the banner at the top is always there. I didn't like how it used to disappear (specifically the notifications). Keep up the good work Rich

Site Update
I agree that the box in the header is ugly. I was actually referring to the page numbers at the top and bottom of the threads though (unless it's the same setting). It appears to stand out much more now though.

Wiecek's Article
The past few years have included a good number of the most exciting games that I can remember. Win or lose, if the game is exciting and I'm entertained, then I feel like I'm getting value for my money. With the exception of the Calgary game this year, I have had the pleasure of watching some pretty exciting and entertaining games, and even that one stinker had it's moments. Overall, MOS has done a great job of fielding a team that puts on an entertaining show.

Fair point... The c'mon centre definitely has to improve in order for the challenge system to work properly.

Commissioner gets it right
There's no judgement call when it comes to a head shot or hitting below the knees on the QB, either it happened or it didn't. The timing is irrelevant so full speed or slowed down, either it happened or it didn't which is why I think that would be a valid challenge.

Commissioner gets it right
As far as I'm concerned, the only part of RTP that should really be challengeable is the head shot, or hitting below the knees. Anything else is timing and is a judgement call which as you say are the problem.

What does your dad do?...
My guess is that it has something to do with Duron Carter... no idea though...

Site Update
I like the new look... one piece of feedback would be that I find that there isn't enough contrast between the current page number indicator and the rest of the page numbers. Might just be my monitor, but I feel like I have to look at it a little too closely to see which page I'm on. All in all, fantastic work.

41-40, (42-43), 33-25, 43-40 What's going on?
Another example of trying to knock a guy down rather than wrap him up. Loffler had him slowed down and was about to wrap up his legs when another Bomber defender (can't remember who it was but I think it was one of the LBs) came in shoulder first and just knocked him out of Loffler's grasp... if he had tried to wrap the fullback up, it would have been a gain of somewhere around 10 rather than whatever ridiculous number it ended up being (too lazy to look it up right now)

What would it take to fire a coordinator?
So even though BC played poorly in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, they deserve to win, but because we played poorly in the 4th we don't? Just trying to understand the logic here... neither team played 100% for the full 60 minutes so how can you say that one team really deserved to win more than the other. Same goes for our game against Montreal, both teams play well for parts of the game but we set ourselves up well to put the final nail in the coffin with no time left on the clock.

Odds and Sods - Montreal Als at Blue Bombers
Highlighted your first mistake... hasn't anyone ever told you that the west side sucks? I'm in 209 and I've got one guy near me who was biatching about Richie Hall for most of the game, but generally the rest of the guys in that group have been pretty reasonable. Not always looking for the negative at least.

Game day thread: Montreal here
He still came out and played on offence for a while after that. It was after the catch over the middle where he basically fell forward after catching the ball and got pilled on by a couple of Mtl defenders when I last noticed him on the field. He kindof limped off after that play... could have still be from the original horse collar though.

Game day thread: Montreal here
I think there were 2 plays where his helmet came off... once during the play and another time where he took it off by himself, so I think you're both right.

41-40, (42-43), 33-25, 43-40 What's going on?
I noticed that Alexander whiffed on a few tackles last night... felt like he had a rough game, but he did redeem himself a bit by recovering the onside kick.

Lost in it all
Watched the game re-cap and paused it to see that the ball did land in bounds by about half a foot... didn't like the call at the time, but they did get that one right.

41-40, (42-43), 33-25, 43-40 What's going on?
We have been one of the best teams against the run (if not the best) so far this season, so not sure that this is a true concern on our D... I think you're stuck on the fact that we were terrible against the run in seasons past.

Lost in it all
If you're going to talk stats, it's not valid to cherry pick and omit certain plays... if you are, you're just trying to fit it into a predetermined narrative.

Wiecek's Article
The only time I've noticed O'Shea "talking down" to people is when they ask inane questions. When an intelligent football question is asked, he lights up and engages with the person asking the question as if he was sitting down and having a beer with a buddy. Just because Weicek is one of the guys usually asking the inane questions, he's got his feelings hurt and that's why he writes the crap that he does about O'Shea and the team in general. The people responding to his articles likely only read what he writes and so only have what he has to say as a reference and don't really know what they are talking about.

41-40, (42-43), 33-25, 43-40 What's going on?
Absolutely agree with that... how many clean, uncontested,10 yard throws on 2nd down was Durant able to make in that game? You have to know that on 2nd down they are looking for Nik Lewis... the D played it right on Montreal's first drive to get the INT, but basically forgot that that is the play Mtl will make 90% of the time in that situation and just let it happen.

41-40, (42-43), 33-25, 43-40 What's going on?
Not to defend Hurl too much because he has definitely struggled without Leggett and Wild in the lineup, but is he playing a little out of position to help cover for the newer guys and opening up holes in the D where there otherwise wouldn't be any? Not that that helps us much, but just curious if maybe that's part of the struggle right now.

Game day thread: Montreal here
This is a problem that I've noticed quite a bit where defenders drop their heads 3 or 4 yards before they get to the guy they are trying to tackle/hit and they can't see their target. If the Montreal player had kept his head up, he would have seen Nichols duck and could have avoided his head. Same with the hit that the Bomber's player made on the Montreal kick returner on one play where he hit the guy out of bounds, if he had kept his head up he would have seen the returner step out of bounds and could have avoided making the hit and taking the penalty. Guys have got to start tackling smarter and keeping an eye on their target so that they don't miss the tackle and/or injure guys because they are being wreckless.

3 stars plus HH montreal miracle
I was calling for a roughing the passer penalty on that play, so I was glad that he threw the flag... haven't seen a replay of it yet to know whether the c'mon centre got it right or not (but my instinct says they screwed up).
