The part I really don't understand is why they blow the play dead sometimes and at other times they allow the offence to have a free play. It seems to be extremely random. Earlier in the game, one of the Bombers jumped offside (and didn't touch the OL), and the play was called dead right away. Though the ball ended up being snapped, the flags flew and whistles blew before it was snapped, which I think is why the Bombers (and fans in the stands) were so upset that there was no flag in the 3rd quarter.

I believe the play you are referring to was Denmark and Dressler, but there was still over a minute left in the game. Had they been able to score quickly on that drive, there was a chance for an onside kick and a shot for another TD, so at the point when that play happened, the game most definitely was not over.

It wouldn't have mattered because there was a no yards penalty on the play... it was a difference of 10 to 15 yards, but Edmonton was keeping the ball either way.

680 has a 50,000 Watt transmitter 1290 has a 10,000 Watt transmitter That would equate very roughly to 20 - 25% less coverage (assuming the transmitters are at the same height)

Saw a tweet from Darren earlier saying that they are selling at about 1000 a day, but no details on when that started or where they were at.

It's also typical of Winnipegers to wait until the last minute to make their decision... the forecast right now looks good, but it could get worse. I'm sure there are lots of people waiting for Saturday to see the forecast for the game before making the decision. Looking forward to it either way... it's always a great day for football when you're in the playoffs

Personally, I find the game more interesting to watch from the upper deck. Much easier to watch the plays develop, and you can quickly tell how far a play went. From the lower bowl (at least closer to the field), it's virtually impossible to tell the difference between a 5 yard pass and a 35 yard pass. That's my $0.02 on it anyway.

The CFL website says 3:30 CDT, but we won't be on daylight time anymore, so it may change... that being said, I know most people don't know the difference between CDT and CST so it's likely a mistake on the website and the game will start at 3:30... check back tomorrow and it should be right.

Interesting thought... I was thinking something similar in response to an earlier post about why Davis was pulled when he was just starting to get into a groove. He may not be too hurt to play if absolutely necessary and why he could still be dressed as the backup, but there might be something that they don't want to aggravate by having him start.

That's kinda BS... contact to the head is contact to the head, incidental or not. The fact that there was a subsequent fine just makes it that much worse that they called it wrong in the game.

Agreed, because the RTP is what caused the fumble and turnover, so I feel like the only way to overturn the turnover call is to make the penalty call so the command centre should be allowed to make that call. It would seem somewhat ridiculous (I know, it's not beyond them to be this way) for them to say to the ref "so, there was RTP on the play which caused the turnover, but because we aren't allowed to make that call unless the coach challenges it, the ruling stands and it's a turnover." Also, O'Shea would have waited for the result of the review before throwing a challenge, so to say that he waited too long after the play to be allowed to do so doesn't make sense either... if he throws it right away, it's wasted because the play is under review already, but if he waits until the review is complete, he's no longer allowed to challenge because it's too long after the play? If that's the case, they need to change the rule to be reasonable.

Would have been a waste of a challenge, the command centre would have reviewed the play because it was a turnover and didn't flag it, so they screwed up.

5) Trevor Harris, Ottawa Redblacks – In my opinion, Harris is the best in this league, I know a lot of people will disagree with me, but with a healthy Harris, the Redblacks are very dangerous. Then shouldn't he be ranked #1?

Though I agree that O'Shea maybe should have challenged it, since it was a turnover, the play was reviewed by the command centre. The fact that they didn't overturn it makes me think that it would have been a wasted challenge. When it comes right down to it, the Command Centre screwed up the call, after the refs missed it in the first place.

It's been mentioned before, but it seems to require repeating... Lankford is our backup kicker, so if for no other reason than that, he needs to be on the roster. That being said, he really screwed up at the end of the 2nd quarter when he gave up on the route which led to the int. He had the position on the defender to make the catch if he had just followed through on his run.

Yes, that channel started out as TSN Jets, but when they went to the new numbering scheme it was TSN 3. I believe TSN 5 was Ottawa, not sure about 2 and 4 though.

Pretty sure they said that the t-shirt comes when you get your tickets next year, but the sideline experience was for a game in 2017. I'm wondering about that one as well, but they did say that there were limited spaces so they may have filled up before I signed up.
