Bombers Release Thorpe
Lankford is the backup kicker, so they aren't taking him off the roster.

I've got the festivus pole up in my front yard...- "Get on your feet, Bomber fans"
Absolutely agree on the kickoff thing... it's not a thing that the fans are on-board for, so they should just drop it. I disagree on the another first down, because they have got many in the past so every one going forward now is another one. Great game, great atmosphere, and even with only 26K fans in the stands, it was nice and loud when the D was on the field.- Game day thread: Ottawa QuarterBLACKS vs Bomber BYES
That was fantastic... Nichols has thrown a couple of those out this year too... that's the kind of leadership that gets the rest of the team fired up.- Game day thread: Ottawa QuarterBLACKS vs Bomber BYES
Northern Harvest is more of a scotch than a rye, so slightly easier to drink straight up than regular rye.... Definitely a sipping drink, and nothing wrong with adding a bit of water to tone it down a bit.- Game day thread: Ottawa QuarterBLACKS vs Bomber BYES
Sorry, but you are ruining a perfectly good Rye bu putting Pepsi in it... and besides, Northern Harvest is meant to be drunk straight on the rocks... at most a splash of water to cut it a bit... Otherwise, I approve this message- Bombers Release Thorpe
Kelly Moore on CJOB just reported that he requested his release. He was frustrated with not getting onto the game day roster.- CFL No Contact Practices Good Or Bad For League?
Personally, I thought I saw Reilly take a shot under the chin on the tackle, but that was just my take on it. I do think there should have been a penalty on that play. That being said, I do agree that there can be situations where the concussion protocols are used even if there is no penalty. How many times do guys get tackled clean and then hit their head on the ground pretty hard?- CFL No Contact Practices Good Or Bad For League?
Rugby tackling? If guys learned how to wrap up like they do in Rugby, I think there would be a lot fewer busted tackles- IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

- Blue Bomber Pano shot
It was taken at the beginning of half time, pretty much right after the players left the field.- Blue Bomber Pano shot
You make an excellent point... I rescind my previous post.- Blue Bomber Pano shot
I would have preferred that they do the picture during the game as more of a candid shot. There was one done at the Bomber season opener at New Mosaic and it was done that way. You get to see a lot more faces because you don't have a bunch of people standing up and waving. I can't see myself because the guy in front of me had his hands up.- Edmonton - was it PI?
I think that Maas' over-reaction was totally uncalled for. It definitely wasn't an obvious PI, and arguably should have gone against Edmonton considering the receiver had his arm around the defender. I believe that the non-call was the correct one in this case.- 3 stars + HH banjo beatdown
Right after that, Carter went and did the same thing and the same guys pushed him back too. Felt that they should have grabbed his arms and tried to injure him for being an idiot.- Labour Day Classic: Winnipeg @ Saskatchewan
Absolutely agree with the first paragraph. It's one thing to stay down after the play to slow the other team down, it's another thing entirely to wait until the ball is about to be snapped and then drop as if you've been shot by a sniper. It happens quite a bit in professional soccer and it's disgusting to watch. Totally unsportsmanlike and a very pathetic way to play a game.- Bombers @ Als: The Game Day Thread
Absolutely agree... in the shot from inside the endzone, it looked like the hit popped the ball loose, and from the other angle he was hit back around the 2 or 3 yard line, so based on that, I believe the ball was loose before he crossed as well.- Lock of the Week 10
Flanders- Lock of the Week 9
Darvin Adams- Lock of the Week 8
I think TJ Thorpe is ready to put one in the end zone.- Referees
I've found over the years that Murray Clark (no longer a head referee, but still part of the crew) really does seem to have a bias against Winnipeg. I distinctly remember a play a few years back when you could see on the play that the Bomber QB at the time (I believe it was Buck) took a nasty headshot and Clark was right there in the background staring right at Buck as he got hit and didn't call RTP. It was so blatantly obvious that he missed the call, it wouldn't surprise me if that one play could be the reason he's not a head referee anymore.- Odds and Sods - Bombers at Ottawa RedBlacks
I'd like to point out one play that you missed... the one right before their backup QB dropped the snap, Hurl made a great play on 2nd and 1 to get the sack (or at least the tackle for no gain)... good hustle and wrap up on that play.- Winnipeg @ Ottawa GDT
Absolutely agreed on the Adams non-call that required the wasted challenge, the ref wasn't even 10 yards away, looking right at the 2 players and the Ottawa player elbowed Adams in the face with no call. The one I also don't get from a few plays earlier is when the receiver fully runs over the defender, how does that penalty go against the defence. Can't remember who it was, but one of the Ottawa receivers ran right through a Bomber defender basically standing still and they got the illegal contact penalty... made absolutely no sense. - "Get on your feet, Bomber fans"
