He didnt have a chance on the feet either. Clearly not a dive.

no. The heavy weights allways bring a big draw, especially HW belt. And it wasnt a particularly special draw at that. The difference is punks face looked like a sloppy joe sandwich after his fight xD

if he has to fill in for any length of time for wild, people are gonna fall in love with the guy. Freak athlete with great football instincts and a motor that never stops. Hes super versatile too. Stepped in and looked right at home.

iirc it sold 750k ppv sales. Which is good, but not RR/gsp/brock good by any means. And it also had 2 heavy weight fights with name brand fighters and the hw title bout. Which allways brings more sells then it should. The way the ufc has done bonuses in the past have been pretty crazy though. Very arbitrary, though a big performance often brings more money. Gall probably got a nice lil bonus.
  6. they could be back ups on any other team with the hope of getting in and taking over. He played like one, at times. He was even fairly consistent with awful talent around him on O, and awful systems. But this year with the best talent he's had he didnt play like a no1 on a good team. Though the talent was certainly thinner and less effective early in the season. Still when his job was on the line he performed his worst. he wasnt really given any great number of chances. considering how much any luke warm qb gets in this league. But now, he will. whats khari jones record? what about hank? oh wait qbs dont get w/l records to them self because its not baseball lol. Hanks record this year and last has to be pretty high, so we should want him over nichols right? right? http://www.cfl.ca/2016/09/12/milanovich-i-see-drew-as-a-bona-fide-starter/ From maybe the 2nd best scout/developer of qbs in the cfl today. (wally will probably hold that title till he retires)

  8. Its gonna be really hard for TO to win that deal. Like, willy has to become an MOP, or heath retires before playing a game and we some how use the draft pick on tyson pencer or jade etienne again.

thats the nature of the cfl this year. Amazing parity even with such a big difference between the stamps and riders. The difference between teams execution is much closer, mistakes are more costly then ever.
  10. Interesting to hear that we have no qbs under contract for next season. Could be big turn over for us top to bottom, plus the league too. I could see glenn ray and hank retiring. I could see us only bringing back nichols and bennett next year. wow bent him over the barrel. I wonder why the argos didnt want glenn? Maybe only a one year stop gap, but they have some guys and have shown an ability to scout qbs very well. They gave up a ton for willy instead, and considering they are in the race for the last play off spot at worst seems odd. Even if willy pans out and becomes the best he can, theyve still given up a ton.

thats soo ridiculous with some legit fighters struggling to pay for camps. Just insulting, especially to the great fighters of the past who pretty much fought for a sandwich.

thats a good way to continually accept under performance and end up like the riders. Yeah if a wr has to dive to touch a pass, it isnt a drop. Nichols over leads and throws behind his targets too often. Not only does it make for tough catches on plays that shouldnt be, it leaves wr's vulnerable to defenders.
  13. WOW. just wow. Him being under contract for next season makes it a real head scratcher. I though it was a rental with him for half of this year with him trying the nfl in the off season. Thats incredible. Yeah johnson has been picked on in several games this year. Im not sure if either johnson or adams are really healthy. I dont want to see either cut, but mainly i want to see the best players on the field.
  14. bad seasons age you 5x faster.
  15. wbbfan replied to wbbfan's post in a topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
He didnt start that year thats true. But he is still a part of multiple championship teams, and probably the best modern stable of cfl qbs. Thats one more then khari, milt or blink got.
  16. Thats true, but people said the exact same thing about jerome messam. Some previous bomber greats have been considered locker room cancer else where. Its seldom a case of one guy being the problem. More often it crops up when teams struggle. A bad situation stews long enough and eventually some one evolves into a problem. I would not write off a good player on a bad team too quickly. Any time a long time starter comes to a team to ride the bench you have that potential. He can, but his info on the offense probably wont be more effective then our own scouting, and rich stubblers defense isnt the type where seeing all the cards will win you the poker game. The possible advantage with him is how well he would know the wr's and their tendencies. Which is also a heavy scouting thing.
  17. plenty of teams have won grey cups with inferior qbs to the opposition too. Even more so in the nfl, and ncaa. Qbing isnt remotely close to the impact on a team that the pitcher has in baseball. A goalie in hockey has a larger impact as well, they are on the ice the whole game, at any point in time the play could flip and bring a short handed rush down to their end. 2 on 1 even great goalies are in trouble. You cant compare football and hockey because of that. They play both ways, same with basketball. And baseball has 0 contact. Football isnt comparable to any sport.
  18. Id have frekerick starting, but i think thats probably the best core for this year.
  19. wbbfan replied to wbbfan's post in a topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
cant say that, far worse qbs like marcus crandell won grey cups. Hank is far worse in the clutch and has rings.
  20. who wants to play the grade the deals game? Bombers A MFing plus. Maybe a plus plus. Legit all star db, first round pick that could be top half of the draft then a depth pick to boot the next year. argos C minus. Got the guy they needed, but really over paid. Bombers B+/A. If glenn can be content to be a back up and doesnt cause a distraction, or if he takes over the starting job at some point its an A. Other wise it a B+. als B- They needed to move on to playing a qb who could be qb of the future for them. They got some solid NI value in the pick. But looking at what we got for willy says they should have gotten some more value then that.
  21. remember how masoli looked before he played us? But yeah, short of an injury or major poopage of the bed we wont see willy. Not to mention he doesnt know the tor system yet. But the defense for the argos will have a huge huge advantage now. They will know that we arent gonna run harris when we should and that all passes will be 7 yards or shorter. what ever will we do?
  22. mike kelly and chris jones make good arguments to the contrary lol. But yeah no players contract is ever that bad in the cfl. None guaranteed for almost half the season.
  23. yeah sounds a lot more like the fans booing him got into his head. Not the media.
  24. wbbfan replied to wbbfan's post in a topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Maybe because our offense is under performing and glenn has thrown for 5 tds in one game this year against one of the better teams. Where as nichols has never thrown more then 3, as a pro. Take your blinders off.
  25. you either live long enough to see your self become the villain or die a hero. Hes no wally buono, but every other front office / coaching "genius" has had the shine rubbed off at some point.
