  1. The real issue is with how green he is. He played soo little in college its scary. Football smarts doesnt allways equate to report card smarts, but that how hard does he work etc all gonna be vital to see if he can stick. For our development guys we really seem to look past experience and the lack of it. Maybe thats the only way we see to get the tool set and up side at QB.

he actually took less to leave too. better and better, jose seems to be warming up too
  3. It looked like the triple option offense really didnt fit well with him despite his speed. Seems more like a scramble to throw and keep the D honest type. Really good looking prospect to groom.
  4. First class and no class at the same time. Even on the forums he gets no respect!
  5. college listings are all too often hokum. Being 230s and playing end against tackles even in the cfl is a huge task. Gavin walls and joe the monster are the only ones i can recall that really pulled it off. Gavin was a thorough breed pass rusher and phenomenal athlete. And so was montford That was also a whole other era athletically.
  6. nailed it. What we need is gear that doesnt make you feel like the juggernaut when hitting but protects like it from hits.

I dont think much of ontario, LV or ny either. I really dont think well of any that i can think of. Some are of course a cut below the rest.Fighting taxi cab drivers in mexico n junk.

who has a good commission tho? seems like they are all various degrees of bad. I really wanna see that re fight. If it stays NC and they re fight thats the best case scenario. This is probably the best card of the year, a nice change of pace.

From what i read on i think bloody elbow it is old rules. I bet poirier appeals and wins. Yeah its just awful. and on such a good card and such a good fight. They gotta get this stuff sorted out.
  10. Football really needs an evolution of PPE around shoulders/head, and better protection of players. No easy answers, no one wants it to become touch football but no one wants players maimed either. And you cant deal with a problem until you admit its a problem.

ugh, the not so unified rules and illegal knees crop up again and ruin a fantastic fight. I really wanna see a re match between alvarez and poirier.

Another win for the jays, and bautista is heating up. 7 pitchers tnite though. The jays bull pen is putting up way too many innings. 4 pitchers 1 inning worth of outs. carrera has really been mashing.
  13. Reasonable expectations. Some guys get picked high either due to hype, extreme reaches, or weak drafts. A guy like jamarcus russell isnt a bust like ryan leaf. Russell was a horrible pick. A guy like ki jana carter is different because he just suffered some freak injuries and was never able to stay healthy. Same with bo jackson. Waggoner was that type to, was a good pro, never really got much of a chance to play on D and retired before he could. No chance he was gonna take a job from one of our starters last year. We had super weak NI talent and needed help right away. We got it from him, but only on teams. Not so much a bust, as a disappointment imop.
  14. Hes like what 175 and 5'10? Seems to do a nice job of sinking his hips and running behind his pads at the line though. And with that quickness it makes him a hammer as much as a nail.
  15. No doubt any time you watch him play you see a lot of bad tackling. Part of that comes from him being a guy who runs hard. He shows excellent quickness for the level. To the point he hits the hole going so fast he can run through arm tackles despite his size. Charles roberts esq. Dunno how he will translate to the cfl game. But hes the perfect guy to have in camp. Helps the grass roots, gives us an extra guy to run, catch, do some returning etc.
  16. Cant find any thing on him retiring. CFL has him listed as FA. Did he play teams?

Another win tnite, aside from the first half of april jays have been better especially considering the injuries.
  18. 7.2 ypc last year. just sayin. Normand never looked bad running the ball. He did have a bobble a pass or two however. I think the issue is adaption and use of the offense. Not personnel. 2 of the top 3 rushers in the league were NI last year. When you get out side the top 5 I dont buy one bit that those teams wouldnt have been better off using a NI rb. Teams still perceive it to be a spot to use a imp, even though rb usage is soo low these days. Guys like shaq murray lawrence, lafrance, and anthony coombs get modestly better treatment then NI qbs. Big body backs like lumbala and normand show some flashes but remain under used. There seems to be a good amount of guys coming out who are athletic, H-back/fback/te prospects who get stuck on teams and forgotten. Id rather start a guy like normand, then half imp rbs thats started last year for various teams. Especially if you are going to run soo infrequently. These are the perfect guys to run on 2nd and 3 type plays, to pass protect, and block and release. I wonder what the last team to start a NI rb for most of the season was that did poorly.
  19. Watching him run, hes really a first step/burst guy. Not a long strider. Which is even better at QB then a guy who runs 4.4 but relies on break away speed. Id say watching him he plays faster then 4.7 though he didnt seem like a great fit in the triple option. Could've. Almost certainly would not have though. Calgary was just miles a head of every one else in scouting him. Like we were with loffler. I really think we would have gotten the same 2 just higher up. That said we dont have the best record with supplemental guys. Its even more of a gamble then the draft. But as bad as our NI talent was at that point I dont blame them for grabbing a here and now guy rather then waiting a year. If a guy in the supplemental can make your team I think you are virtually allways better off taking them.
  20. haha football made easy.
  21. Really not, especially for a guy who played 2 years. If any thing labels him a bust its only playing 2 years. Look at what most of the top of that draft class has done in the cfl and look what waggoner has done. Better wheels then dunigan for sure. Dunigan was more buck esq in his era. Now dunigans heart, football instincts, accuracy, and especially leadership are another matter.
  22. yes we missed out on the likes of phillipe gagnon. Brandon revenberg, brian jones, and charles vaillancourt. The way walters talked about our board afterwards, we would have just taken corney or couture in that range any how.
  23. Yeah took a glance at the misses in the first round over the past 5 years and the size of that pool is freaking massive. Too bad i liked what he brought on teams and would have liked to see what he could do in reps. That arm, wow. Gets rid of the ball quickly too, and a good athlete. Hes like an athletic MBT, but young enough to be a reasonable developmental guy. http://www.accac.org/sports/fball/2014-15/players/austinapodacalkag?view=profile Mesa community college seems to be his largest sample size post hs. 233/394- 59.1% - 2534 yards - 27 tds - 9 ints. 0 sacks wow.
  24. Thanks for diggin that up. So hes under contract for this year and has to play for them to get a low pick. But they could cut him if he doesnt sign a multi year deal?
  25. I didnt mind the early seasons of gotham. I liked the idea of it as a detective show set in the batman universe but pre batman era. Really liked donal logue, and the dynamic between he and gordon. It pushed further and further into gordon being batman light though. And really lost me there.
