100%. The magic of people like Anthony bourdain, Louie Theroux etc is/was that they make every thing seem like a regular conversation and cut through to the bs. I don’t dis like bauming. Every qb wants an ol first and foremost. Especially older guys. First thing the riders have to do if they get a good coach or not is get an ol that can pass pro.

I get that. I’d take the 21 team. I think the cats slept on us in 19. No one slept on us in the last two gcs. Hard to compare a battered and broken qb to a young raw guy. Nichols didn’t throw games away. Cf throws away a lot. Both teams were carried by great Ds and special teams. As a member of the meh Nichols club, and probably president, Nichols was always at his best in the play offs, and late close games. Nichols had arm limitations, cf has brain limitations. Nichols did the most with what he had, cf doesn’t. If Nichols and cf traded physical attributes entirely, Nichols would’ve been better and cf would’ve been a hs back up at best. Nichols was a leader, the opposite of a head basket, and tough as nails mentally and physically. I liked cf in college with Nevada. But I think the dirty old Regina state of mind under the disciples of jones ruined him. Right now I’d take cf as a qb2 running poopkup type stuff with a real passing qb as qb 3.

I’d I had to define them, I’d say 2021 was a historical team. All time elite of the elite. This team id put in a level of the west semi and final team in 2019. Had holes but has the ability to fix most all of em. 2021 the gap between us and the whole rest of the league was miles and miles deeper. Teams couldn’t score on us at all in the 4th. One of the stingiest defences ever and an offence that could dominant and blow out any one with ease. That 21 team had soo much junk time with back ups in and foot off the gas. This offence is more explosive but less consistent and not as good at protecting the ball. Zach was sacked more in 4ish games than all of 2021 regular season. Win rate and even differential aren’t be all and end all stats. By those stats the Argos this year were better than any of our 19+ teams. And they weren’t.

I mean bill Walsh literally did just that. I can’t see walters leaving football. I think the only things that would take him away from the bombers is 1) desire to have more quality family time, or 2) some control/salary cap type problem where it came down to him or mos. Excellent point. In the idk bill Walsh system ideal timing was ball release as or just before the wr cuts so they run open under the hall and make the catch. Throwing it to a spot like that makes it harder for dbs to jump routes.

You can look at how other teams have done every thing to maximize their roster depth and how we’ve burned spots in general. Look at how fox played in his game action vs guys like Schmekel, and Habba vs Bennett. Swap one of the dis wasted and do you think that makes us worse? You can’t completely weigh the loss, if we rotated this year and last year perhaps wj performs much more consistently like he did when we rotated previously. Maybe JJ wouldn’t get hurt. What’s the weight of the blow out loss to bc at home? What’s the loss of a guy losing quality at the end of their career? How many snaps have Augustine, Jackson, Eli, Dobson, gmc and bolo played this year in their rostered games? Having an extra cover db, pass rusher, interior run stopper etc indisputably makes us better. You’re trying to break down the season by the same madden standard you mentioned earlier. Games can’t be broken down to a lowest common denominator by a one dimensional number. You can win by 10 and have a piss poor performance. Say where you spend half the game getting slapped by edm to the point your starting qb gets knocked out. but then you can’t use logic to convince some one to change their mind and leave a position they took up with out logic. You’ve argued this many times before and been given every point by multiple people. But it doesn’t fit being a staunch contrarian so you discard all those every time.
